Delis are a dime a dozen. Good ones, not so much. I'm a chicken cutlet guy so I generally start with judging any deli by the caliber of their chicken cutlet. This place nailed it. I ordered their version of an Italian Hero, a very generic and common sandwich across Long Island Delis. Hands down skimpiest attempt. All bread. Legit one slice of each meat and cheese. I think the tried putting oil and vinegar on it. Either their recipe is cut short due to management/owners who can't afford Board Head cold cuts or I got the new guy, which then falls on management for poor managing. For a sandwich and bag of chips $9. Price seems right. If this sandwich was loaded, I wouldn't have complained if it was $12!!!! read more

This deli is by far the best deli I have ever been to and has really fair prices which you wouldn't expect for a deli located across the street from the water. During the summer this spot is great to get a breakfast or lunch sand which and walk across the street to the park and eat looking out into the Long Island sound. I highly suggest for breakfast the hungeryman which is 3 eggs bacon, sausage, ham, cheese on a hero and for lunch the #3 which is a breaded chicken breast bacon and cheese on a roll (make sure to ask for Russian on it) I highly recommend this deli and would eat here everyday if I could read more

Great stop for a Saturday morning sandwich by the harbor. They were quick to serve us, helpful as we tried to figure out what we wanted, and the bagel sandwiches were delicious and fresh! I love this deli due to it's proximity to the park on Cold Spring Harbor plus they always have this giant pile of chicken cutlet sandwiches ready to be handed out to hungry picnic goers and boaters. They are well manned - there must be like 8 guys back there making sandwiches but the place is a little cramped with a bunch of display racks right in the middle of the floor. Parking is tight- there are about 4-5 spots in a tiny lot in front and being that it is situated on a curve of a busy road, it can get treacherous getting in and out of the place. read more

My granddaughter and her friend just got back from the Cold Sprong Harbor Deli. They were taken advantage of because of their young age. Both girls ordered a #3 chicken cullet on a roll with bacon and cheese. The old man that worked there said he didn't have any chicken cutlets left so they said grilled chicken was okay. When they left to eat their sandwiches there was nothing on the sandwich, no cheese or bacon, only grilled chicken. The two girls went back into the store and told the man there was nothing on the sandwich only the chicken. He wasn't nice to them and said I'm sorry we can't we are closing. This is not giving them what they ordered and paid for. This is terrible that he took advantage of two young girls. They will never go back. I am Outraged! read more

You can go anywhere for a buttered roll, but the customer service at the CSPD is what keeps me coming here. Art and his staff are great, even M.G. is super pleasant! An average pair of sammies (a #1 and a custom 'wich), a sub-par side (macaroni BLT salad, decent only in creativity) and a fantastic dessert (peanut butter n fudge topped brownie) will do that to ya. The employees are cool and the place is clean, which is a definite rarity when it comes to deli's that have been around the block, but the food was so very average. Best half and halfs. Really good quality sandwiches with a large selection of drinks, chips, beer, and a small but fresh selection of homemade fruit salads, chicken salads, wraps and desserts. The chicken Cesar salad wrap is good, but ask for it with a little red onion like they used to make it and it pops. Any chicken sandwich is good here. Stopped here on the way to Caumsett State Park. Got the"Mussolini" hero and was disappointed at the amount of ingredients on the sandwich. I opened up my half of the hero and found 1 slice of pepperoni, 1 slice of cappy, 3/4 slice of salami, 1 slice mortadella, 1 slice provolone, almost slice of tomato, and 1 small piece of lettuce. There's nothing like a chicken cutlet sandwich on a summer day! Amazing food, fresh, healthy (semi!) and delicious.

Since moving to Long Island this has become my deli of choice. The people are friendly, the food is great and I love the fact that you get coffee and orange juice with your egg and bacon roll all for $4. On top of that in the summer you just cross the road and eat your breakfast on the park bench looking out at the harbor - its a great relaxing way to start the weekend. read more
