2-28-26. I know the Regal has been around for a long time but this was my first time here. It's an unassuming storefront that's connected to a barber shop and although it's located at a pretty busy intersection, it's easy to miss (as far as I'm concerned). So I tried "keplach soup" for the first time and it was enjoyable. I didn't even know what keplach was until I googled it while looking at the menu. If you're not aware it's similar to a perogies, or a ravioli or a wonton (you get my point). The dough however is a little thicker and it's cooked in the consomme broth. It wasn't the most flavorful soup I've ever tried, but it was good nevertheless. The potato pancake, although fried, was a lot lighter than I thought it was going to be. Nice crunch with good potato flavor. The pastrami Reuben on a club roll was very satisfying. I usually order it on rye bread but was in the mood to have it on a roll today. It held up well and didn't fall apart or get mushy like rye bread usually does. Pastrami was sliced thin and had a nice (but mild) flavor. Decent sized sandwich and prices are on par with all the other kosher delis in Long Island. Service was fast and friendly. They had plenty of other tasty looking items in the display case as soon as you walk in. Maybe next time I'll try something different (again). It wasn't outstanding (3.5 stars), but it was a good meal and it warrants a return visit. read more

5/29/26 .. I realize everything is expensive now. Regal Deli makes my husbands favorite Cole Slaw, it's excellent, there are few items I find acceptable from Regal .. the Chicken Soup with Matzo Ball is tolerable when I don't make my own and I don't feel well and once in awhile I'll crave a hot dog. I want to also add the 1 Star doesn't reflect how nice the folks are at Regal. Why am I leaving a 1 Star..... $10 for a pint container of Cole Slaw ... REALLY??? It's Cabbage and a little Carrot ... it's delicious but $10 ... you don't have shaved gold in it. Last time we bought it, it was $8 and I thought THAT was outrageous. So last nights Cole Slaw will be the last time for us. ShopRite Woodbury changed their Cole Slaw recipe recently and it went from Good to Really Good and it's $4.99lb and sometimes will go on sale. I will work on perfecting that sweet tang we enjoy since Cabbage is one of the least expensive items in produce. read more

Wife and have not been to Regal in almost 30 years as the service and product was terrible then. Decided to visit as someone told us that it was good. Went in to an almost empty room. Order the soup and half sandwich which run about $20 for each order. The corned beef sandwich could be a bread sandwich as it was very little meat in it . I think the soup cause me to be sick the next day. I would not recommend this deli. A wasted $50 dinner for two. read more

I've been eating at this kosher deli since I was 12 years old when my mother used to take me when she was alive I will be 63 years old this December. It's very sad to say that this is no longer the place to eat especially if you're Jewish I don't want to begin to tell everything right now what I have experienced myself is more than enough this is no longer a place to get a good meal the meat sometime is mixed brisket or pastrami the sandwiches most of the time are not even hot but worse than that the quality and the texture and the taste of food is horrible it's gotten so bad I was there today 7/7/2026 and had the worst pastrami sandwich I've ever had in my entire experience there I went back to show them the meat which was Brown and also parts of brisket that shouldn't have been on the sandwich they claimed several different factors and then offered to make me another sandwich well let me tell you it was just as bad or even worse this time it wasn't brown meat and it wasn't different cuts of meat piled on the sandwich like the first one it was just the driest terrible quality me ever and it didn't even taste like pastrami it was like a dry corned beef I think they're under New Management and they will soon go underwater it's a shame after all these years. It was just okay. I remember going here when I was younger with my grandparents and it's been a very long time since I've been back. To start, pickles and coleslaw. Pickles were great and had that perfect crunch. Coleslaw was good and different as it isn't made with Mayo. Potato pancakes. Eh. A little underwhelming. They aren't shredded like grandma used to make or how momma makes them. They are more of a doughy consistency. Not great. Matzo soup. Not at all how grandma used to make or how momma makes. The broth tasted like your basic broth. No oomph. The matzo ball itself was decent. You also cannot order this soup as a cup, bowl only. Entrees that were ordered included turkey burger deluxe, goulash, pastrami and a knish sandwich. I got the turkey burger deluxe. It needed seasoning and it was dry. I did have it with some honey mustard, which did improve the taste. Fries were good and the onion ring was great. My boyfriend really liked is goulash. My mom and stepdad liked their sandwiches. I look forward to this time of year. My besties from college all have birthdays within a week of each other, so we try to go out together every year. This time we agreed on Regal Kosher Deli. It's an old time deli that my friends said they went to as kids. I was the first one to arrive and was told we could sit anywhere. The waitress came over with silverware right way. When all 3 of us were there, we got the menus. It's your average deli. It seemed as if the only other customers were known by the staff and frequent the place. The food was good. Nothing wow. Would I go back again? Sure. Definitely if my friends were there too. read more

My first trip to New York and my first Jewish deli experience. The people are amazing! I ordered a pastrami on rye (with mustard) and a square potato knish. I was also served Cole slaw and pickles. This is by far the best pastrami I have ever eaten. The sandwich eclipsed all my expectations. The knish was different from anything I've ever had but was excellent. The pickles were different from any I've ever had but also very good. The Cole slaw was very good but I barely touched it because I inhaled my sandwich and was getting full. So far, this is the highlight of my New York trip! read more

The service was amazing, lighting was bright, noise levels very low permitting easy discussion. The tables were comfortable. The food was soooo delicious. The onion rings and fries were crispy and tasty--apply your own salt though. The sandwiches had generous meat portions and they were cooked absolutely perfect. I got a salad with chicken at the greens were fresh plus there were generous amounts of chicken strewn around the greens. If you close your eyes just a moment. Had pastrami sandwiches from Regal and enjoyed them - we didn't get the lean pastrami but the pastrami wasn't excessively fatty but still flavorful and not dry - and the potato knishes and onion rings we had alongside the sandwiches were great. You can never beat a good kosher deli! read more

As a Italian kid growing up in Brooklyn, there was a small, local sit down deli that I'd grab a Knish with my friends. As I got older, I experimented with the different menu items and it soon became my comfort food. When I left the military in the 80s, I'd meet my girlfriend (who later became my wife) in Glen Cove for a Knish when she was between classes. Fast forward to 2021. My niece came home from college for the weekend and told the family she's craving pastrami?! We all meet at Regal Deli last Saturday night for dinner. All the standard favorites come to the table, cole slaw and pickles. We also ordered for the table stuffed Derma. And without question, Dr Browns sodas! The deli itself, is showing its age. The space is small, the interior is not a modern looking spot. The wait staff was friendly, we were all greeted and seated at a large table. My wife ordered a stuffed cabbage combination plate, it came with two potato pancakes. She says I'm still her sweetheart and she shared one of them with me. I ordered a hot pastrami sandwich which was a nice size. My wife's stuffed cabbage, tasted fresh and homemade. My pastrami was great, totally satisfied! The potato pancakes, sadly, grandma Regal isn't shredding each potato by hand. They put the potatoes in the blender which gave the potato pancakes a different texture. Not a crime but it would have been nice bump to have them shredded. The same with the Kreplach soup, the kreplach wasn't fried, it was a doughy ball that wasn't enjoyable in the soup. A few misses but overall a pleasant meal. We're walking to the car and we pass an older couple holding hands. I smile at them and the man smiles back. I have been reading everyone's positive comments on Long Island dining pages on Facebook, regarding new owners saving this place from closing, and I had to try it out. I got the pastrami on rye and matzoh ball soup. The pastrami on rye was outstanding, truly fantastic. I got my meal to go and I loved how they gave me a side of mustard and pickles with my order. I had a drive home so not having soggy bread from the mustard was great. I am ashamed as a New Yorker to say this, but I have never tried matzoh ball soup before. Theirs was good, it definitely needed salt, but I think that's totally fine considering other peoples dietary restrictions, but once I add some salt and pepper, it was excellent. The food is good. Almost all the time. My biggest gripe is the food is never hot. Whether you get a pastrami sandwich, soup or a hotdog. It's always cold. Not sure if it's their staff or they just serve cold food but if it's going to be served cold I'm better off getting it to go and heating it up at home than sit and pay for them to bring me cold food. read more

Knishes were cold and not fresh, tongue was asked to be heated but was not, but by far the biggest problem was the amount of salt on the tongue; it was on the verge of inedible. No way someone tasted it and felt it was good. Absolutely disgusting. Paying $44 per pound is bad enough but for garbage food is a kick in the nuts. Good old fashioned Jewish deli. food is good. place is clean but small definitely a To go style place

This was a pleasant surprise. We stopped by for takeout after helping our kids move into their new home in town and ended up eating our dinner in the car because of the not-unexpected Sunday night traffic. Hardly the first time I have eaten a large deli sandwich (and knish) in the car, but I digress. I am a big fan of Jewish KOSHER delis (not to be mistaken for a Jewish-style non-kosher deli like Rye Ridge). The old-style ones with the hot dog grill in the front, the long counter for orders, the seating in the back and the unmistakable smell. This fits the bill. And add in some points for gaudy external signage. Those aesthetics, however, would be no means be grounds for a free pass on the food if it weren't good. In this case, it may not be the best of the few that remain (hello, Liebmans) but it is far better than most, and certainly a step up over Ben's. We had turkey sandwiches and knishes; the turkey was moist and the portions reasonably good. The potato knish was really flavorful - very garlicky and perhaps a little on the spicy side. Prices were fair given the high prices for kosher meat. I am knocking off one star because of the parking situation. Next time I will ask them if we can park in the big mall parking lot across the street. I am sure we will be back as we expect to be in Plainview pretty frequently. There aren't many pastrami places in the area, so when nearby, and you have the Pastrami crave, Regal is the must go to place. The freshest pastrami piled thick between two slices of rye ( Are the rye slices smaller, seems that way). I ordered mine to go, and of course it comes with two crispy pickles, 1 sour and 1 half sour. Eat in or take out, I'd like to eat in next time, sort of an old fashioned diner feel. And I'm looking forward to returning and trying their hot soups on a cold winter day. All that being said, I really do miss Boomy's, that closed down and was on S. For the people who don't know what it is It's like Jewish wonton Soup but much better of course. The Fresh Turkey is sliced thin & gravy is delicious. The Roast Beef is cooked perfectly. We Love the French Fries they are a smaller version of the Nathan's Fries. They have Awesome pickles & coleslaw. Best Chopped liver that doesn't repeat on it. I like NYC Kosher Deli's, The closest I have come to out on the Island to those old establishments is Regal. The meat is perfectly cooked and where else can you get stuffed Derma and good gravy? Plus a lot of other good food on their menu. I have been coming here since 1981and now my kid loves it. The old atmosphere is comfortable and perfect for a city style deli. Shvitzy and schmaltzy. Was in town visiting family and had a hankering for some soul food. The dinner was passable, but Regal needs a serious makeover. The tile floor was slippery as if it had been slathered with schmaltz, the restaurant was damp and way too hot. The kicker was an older gent came in a fell on the runner rug that was not secure to the floor. Not a stellar visit. read more

Ordered a Turkey, lettuce and tomato- No bacon sandwich and a brisket sandwich..and a chicken salad . These small portions came out to be a whopping $42!!! Brisket which i did not try was said to be very dry and tasteless. My turkey sandwich was also dry. And chicken salad was eh. Chanukah cravings and I haven't been to this place in over 15 years but yet my mind was blown because it was exactly the same as it used to be! I ordered over the phone and had no idea how busy it would be when I got there to pick it up. The person who took my order over the phone was nice and took her time with me. Corned beef club with Russian dressing on the side, square knish, coleslaw and sour pickles. All insanely good! Potato pancakes were very oily and not too crisp by the time I got home but I probably should have heated them up in the oven before we ate them. They couldn't have been too bad, my people demolished them in record time. Every crumb was hovered up and everyone was happy. I really want to give recognition to the people who work at the Regal Deli. There were so many people who had called in orders, people who were waiting to order and Uber Eats employees picking up orders and yet they stayed calm and collected, working quickly and communicating perfectly with each other. They even stayed pleasant when a customer was not very nice and when people were stepping in front of others and wouldn't wait their turn. When it was my turn, I was greeted kindly with a smile and was not rushed. The woman even took a minute to talk to my daughter.
