I gave it because it is over priced. I was charged tax on a bottle of water and a bottle of soda! The food is ok, the presentation is good.

I see your port and I raise you mine. Se-Port Delicatessen IS the standard. Your local deli has no…read moreright to even compare itself. It's so far ahead of all delis and sandwich spots you've been. This is Long Island's gem. Five stars only is an injustice. It's one of the country's finest spots. It's what George Washington hoped for when he crossed the Delaware. It's what Qin Shi Huangdi believed would come when he unified China. It's what Moses split the Red Sea for. If aliens really existed, they'd be spotted here. If I ate one a day I'd gain 2 pounds a day and that's fine. I wouldn't care. 400 lbs? Ok. Bring it on, I say. Don't test me. As I sit on the John - Delta forcing out a few nukes - I think to myself... oh what a wonderful world. What a wonderful world I live in that I could experience the (and a) Gasm. The Anthony Kay. The Steven Matz. The Boone. The list goes on and on. The amount of underwear I've gone through from ordering the Gasm. Worth it. The M&M cookies on the counter that look at me as if I'm the newest bombshell on the island... oggling and boggling baby. The rumor is these guys churn out millions of cutlets a year. And that's just for me. - Sidebar: Weak sauce LB. Weak. Don't fall into the dad jokes just yet. Don't embarrass me in front of my people. Don't do it. - Anyways. As a poor young man(not that my circumstances have changed) I used to save up my measly funds for just one sandwich on the weekend. It would consume me all week and then I'd consume it in mere minutes. Every time me and my rapscallion crew would come we'd be certain that we'd eat half there and then eat the half later or save the rest for the week. Others had self control to stick to the plan. But I did not. And I'm proud of that. I'm proud of the man I've become. But not proud enough. For one day... one day... I'll go to Se-Port and I'll order The Linguini B. Only on that day, will I be allowed to die. To escape the brilliance of the world and head to the distraction of darkness. Until then - There is much to do. People to influence. Persuasion to persuade. Lust to lunge for. Sandwiches to feast on. The glory of Se-Port. I live a tender distance from this master factory of a deli; however, it's one of the few pieces in this world worth traveling a ridonk distance for. I will walk the Whitestone Bridge to be reacquainted. I would slosh around in the sewage of the Sound to make my way to this Mecca. I am currently working on my masters in astrophysics solely with the purpose of conjugating and coagulating a way to build the first wormhole - From my bed, straight to the parking lot of Seport. Few failed attempts, so far, but thankfully I'm not self-testing. Don't report me. Jokes on you... I'm closer than you'd think. Well. I'm sure you get my notes in the mail, so I'll wrap this up. One day, my love. One day, again, as we had it before. You and me, on the water, whisking the waves with the palms our feet. Our luscious hair sweeping the wind. Stopping time with the strength of our shared gazes. Our hands interlocked, just like our shared destinies. Yours tenderly and truthfully - LB.

So completely disappointed in you , John…read more Maple St. Deli has been a huge disappointment, especially considering it's within walking distance of my home. It's a quaint neighborhood deli with over 100 years of history, which is why I kept giving it chance after chance. I've ordered from this deli many times. They have frequently gotten my order wrong, but I never complained. I simply accepted it and moved on. On Father's Day, I ordered three egg sandwiches around 10:00 a.m. I arrived at 10:30 to pick them up and still waited another 15 minutes. After spending about $35, the order was wrong. Again, I let it go. Today was the final straw. I ordered two egg sandwiches and a small deli iced tea for delivery. The total was $33 before tip. The owner, John, delivered the order himself. He rang my Ring doorbell twice but never knocked. We completed the exchange without issue. When I opened the bag, the order was wrong--again. I called and politely asked to speak with the owner. I explained that my order had been made incorrectly. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, John hung up on me. I called back three more times, and each time either he or his staff hung up on me. I drove to the deli to speak with him face-to-face. His response was simply, "That's unfortunate," and he refused to remake the sandwiches or offer any refund or solution. Everyone makes mistakes. What separates a good business from a bad one is how those mistakes are handled. I wasn't angry about an incorrect sandwich--I was shocked by the complete lack of customer service, accountability, and basic respect. After years of overlooking mistakes and trying to support a local business, this experience has guaranteed I will never return. There are plenty of delis that appreciate their customers and stand behind their service. Unfortunately, Maple St. Deli isn't one of them.

The sausage & egg were not large enough for the bagel. This was also one of the more expensive bagel sandwiches I've bought in the area and I don't think the quality matches the price. The place also felt messy and unclean. Maybe the quality and cleanliness would have been better if I got food first thing in the morning, but I don't think I'll be heading back here anytime soon given the other options in the area.

So I made my way over there to try em out. Long Island really rapes you on a bacon egg and cheese, or at least this crap-hole does. Paid something close to $9 and it was god awful. I have a hard time believing this ever could have been good. I see 80-90% of the pix on here are from one dude three years ago, some look good n all, but this place is anything but. Hard pass. Signed - a guy struggling with living on Long Island again.

I am not a coleslaw person (like... ever), but this one changed me. The veggies were crisp, the dressing was perfectly balanced -- not too sweet, not too heavy -- and honestly, I could eat a tub of it and not get tired. Character development unlocked. We decided to share the Heartburn Wrap, which was definitely big enough for two. Minor user error on my part -- I thought it came with pastrami and hot peppers, but apparently I ordered it wrong. That one's on me, and trust and believe I'm running it back next time the correct way. We also shared the matzo ball soup and let me tell you... it tasted like somebody's bubbe made it with love and a little bit of magic. Straight up warm hug in a bowl. Service-wise, our server wasn't exactly warm and fuzzy -- but honestly, I didn't come here to make friends. I came to eat, and on that front, Lido's absolutely delivered. Bottom line: phenomenal food, generous portions, and we will 100% be back. Must try.

The food here is in a word fantastic. I looked around at what people were eating- incredible overstuffed sandwiches, onion rings like you've never seen- I opted for the stuffed cabbage entree-it came with a cup of soup- my choice was mushroom barley, and two sides. I chose the kasha varnishkas and some egg noodle thing... and of course I had to have a Dr Brown's Black Cherry. Since The Carnegie Deli there has never been a more authentic Jewish deli. The waiters were wonderful all with distinct personalities... I must come back for brunch. I'm fantasizing about latkes and Apple sauce now. Or maybe a lox and onion omelette? This place is special. For some reason this won't let me check ambiance- well this place has fantastic ambiance- a jewel of Long Beach.
