Me and my kids went through the other evening cause we saw a commercial about the Dubai ice cream so we decided to head to cold Stone in the game them. As we approach we walked in the door. There was two young ladies who didn't even acknowledge us or greeted us as we walked in 10 minutes later they tell us that they would be with us so we waited another 15 more minutes one day asked what would we like? We said we would like to try the Dubai ice cream. They said we don't have the ice cream we're all out and we're not allowed to substitute. That was our first time going to cold Stone ice cream usually we go to our local store to buy some, but since we saw the commercial, the ice cream looked very delicious. It was pleasantly cool inside and the little table with the two chairs outside was perfect for my boyfriend and I since it cooled off that night. Pretty clean store, there were two other groups who came around the time we did and she was always on top of things. The shake is a must if you're driving afterwards so it's more hands free and you're not as distracted. The sweet cream or Oreo milkshake would be perfect. I love the heath bar as an add in. As a chain, you know what to expect and it was a good experience. Staff was attentive. Place was clean. We got the ice cream for take out. I got the coffee lovers flavor and it was delicious. I hadn't eaten ice cream for a long time and remembered that my son brought me to the La Quinta location a few months ago. It was hot outside and I was craving ice cream, not just any ice cream but Cold Stone's. I decided to get the German Chocolate Cake in a waffle cone. So I ordered a large one. Big mistake! It took about an hour to eat it and it was almost the size of my head! The ice cream was so good. I remember seeing an ad about that flavor and I had to try it. No regrets except that the next time I will get the smaller one. It was so worth the price. The shop is nestled into a small cute shopping strip area. I love the looks of the outdoor area and the building. I do want to say that the inside is roomy but awkward in form. A few more tables would be great. I liked that they offer restrooms for customers. The music playing was nerve-racking! I want to suggest playing a variety of music like Walmart does so that all types of people feel welcome not just the younger generation. In La Quinta, there are many retired folks and Snow Birds and the music should lean toward that population in the area. I realize that all the nearby festivals reel in the younger population throughout the year, but those of us who live here full-time should feel welcome in our stores. Service was good and the ice cream server was very knowledgeable. I would suggest that the management train the staff to be more personable. The woman that waited on me acted like I was a burden, she did not smile, and I felt rushed. I had never ordered anything there before so I was confused about sizes, prices, and flavors. She acted as though I should know about their products. I also caught her glaring at me s though she did not like me or something. I always smile and she took the smile right off my face with her unprofessional attitude. Rude workers will chase the customers away. This is why I gave this location 3 stars. read more

Avoid this place. Not what it used to be by a long shot. Terrible attitude by the worker closing last night. The kids came in before doors were closed by 20-30 minutes. There was a bit of a crowd and it took a while to get to the kids. They tried to order and the worker refused to do anything other than give scoops. Bare minimum effort and acted like it was a huge favor. Do your job or get a new one! Taking 5 more minutes to complete the evening is not asking too much or entitled. Coming in at the last minute and expecting extra service is NOT what happened. This is the new way, she's to lazy to do her job and people get sub standard service for it. I'm team frozen yogurt and rarely go out for ice cream haha but my friend Jordan was buying so I let him buy me whatever he wanted. For me, he chose the peanut butter cup ice cream blend, which was chocolate ice cream, scoops of peanut butter, and crushed up peanut butter cups. The only complaint I have, is that the peanut butter wasn't blended very well and could only eat about half of this medium size before getting a stomach ache. For himself, Jordan got a birthday cake blend which was vanilla ice cream, Oreo ice cream, and sprinkles. Both were very delicious! If only they had indoor seating!! Only giving this 5 stars because this super sweet, polite, professional, and smiling young lady named Francesca helped me. Came in close to closing which can be annoying and sometimes workers can be grumpy at night which was my experience the last few times I've gone. Francesca was not one of those grumpy employees, she was very pleasant and had a smile on her face the whole time. Coming back because of her! Hope she gets acknowledged for this! She was great. First things first - yummy! When I feel like splurging and getting ice cream instead of my typical fro-yo, I come here or the place of 31 flavours. Sometimes when I'm getting things added to the ice cream, they can be a bit stingy so I just ask for extra.
