Well, less than a week before the Bday - THEY CANCELED!!!! My entire party decor and theme was tied to this cake and now I have less than a week to find someone else! From my iphone, I googled cake makers in KC in a pathetic last minute attempt and sugar and spice was the first link that came up. I left a message on Melissa's phone assuming she'd call me back and laugh at me. Who can make a specialty cake in the middle of JUNE (wedding season!) with 5 days notice for a fair price?! Well, Melissa can!! Fortunately she had a last minute cancellation and was able to squeeze me in. So without a cake testing - I had no option but to trust her. I'm SO glad I did. The cake was beautiful AND tasted great! I had three tiers: spice cake with buttercream, godiva chocolate cake with oreo cream filling, and sour cream almond cake with raspberry filling.
