Small size of pistachio gelato with toffee bit topping
    Christina B.

I stopped in to try out this gelato shop for the first time. The service was very good and friendly. The restaurant and bathrooms were extremely clean! We got a toddler size vanilla gelato with sprinkles, a strawberry gelato with pastel M&Ms, and pistachio gelato with toffee bits. I tried a bite of each one and they were all very flavorful and we would definitely come back.

Walked in and the smell of chocolates and gelato ice cream filled the air!! Was greeted by the employee with a big smile. I tried the salted caramel and fell in love!! My husband and I had the big cups. We also purchased some Carmel chocolate balls and peanut brittle. I'm making this my favorite gelato ice cream shop! If you are ever down town Overland Park...I suggest you check out this business!

Found this place randomly as we were looking for a dessert place after lunch. The store is pretty spacious with a good amount of seating indoor and some outdoor (part of Strang Hall). There is a bunch of prepackaged candy & chocolate, gourmet chocolate in a glass case, and gelato of course. Got to sample a few flavors, and all of them were delicious! I was in more of a fruity mood, so I chose the strawberry and grapefruit prosecco. The strawberry was fresh & creamy, and the grapefruit prosecco, which was more of a sorbet, was super refreshing, slightly tart, & also sweet. Would get these again! Other notable flavors would be the pistachio and birthday cake. Probably the best pistachio gelato I've had in a long time - I could actually taste the pistachio flavor, and the bits and pieces of pistachio were a nice crunch! The birthday cake had actual cake pieces in it which I loved. Also, service was fast and great. Excited to come back and try the other flavors!

This was one of the ice cream/ gelato places in KC that I've been curious to try. I'd say it was sold based on several things,... - the girl behind the counter was very sweet and willing to be patient while I figured out what to order and tried the flavors. - If you don't want gelato then you can get other sweets such as chocolates - The gelato was smooth and yummy - location was great in old Overland Park I'm glad I tried but I'll probably won't be a repeat customer based on these things - 10 to 12 flavor options that seem to be permanent flavors without variations - The flavors were yummy but didn't stand out - Small selection of toppings to make the experience better - you could next door to competing establishments with the same or more options

If you love gelato, this spot is a must-visit! Endless flavors, plenty of toppings, and rich, melt in your mouth chocolate The decor is charming hanging ice cream cone displays from the ceiling and colorful wall art make it a fun place to enjoy your treat They even sell cute souvenirs so you can take a piece of the experience home. Friendly vibes, great quality, and perfect for a sweet craving!

I love this shop. They have only been open for a year. Right next to Strang Hall in downtown Overland Park. It's bright and cheerful. Seating area was clean and inviting. We came here after dinner for a little treat and saw that they had gelato. Upon entering the shop, we saw that they were stocked with special treats for Easter. The little Easter chocolate bunny was adorable. They have everything from little chocolate treats to bags of chocolate covered candies to Gelatos. My friend bought a bag of chocolate covered candies and we both ordered their medium size gelato to enjoy. The staff was very friendly. They also have seating outside when weather is nicer. Definitely will be back for more treats this summer.

I loved the creamy, flavorful, made fresh daily gelato, the welcoming, friendly, helpful service and the great location (next to Strang Hall in downtown OP) at this new shop, which offers The Flying Cow gelato and Annedore's Fine Chocolates. Compared to ice cream, Italian gelato has less fat, less mixed in air and more flavor - nice! My medium gelato cup ($5.75) included two generous scoops of delicious gelato, which were packed full of flavor. Fifteen flavors were available including some unique flavors like birthday cake, key lime pie, dino & dirt, pistachio and gianduja (chocolate and hazelnut). The dining area was clean, nice and colorful with background music. I also noticed a large, spacious patio area shared with nearby Strang Hall, street parking and a nearby parking garage. Excellent!

A summertime staple. You owe yourself a treat by getting out here and enjoy a dusky evening on the patio with gelato in-hand. I reviewed the first location of Flying Cow years back and loved it. The quality hasn't gone down at all, and I'm still in love with their grapefruit prosecco flavor. It's light, fruity, citrusy, and delicious without being have a crusty or icy texture the way sorbet has. If you aren't a fan of fruit flavors, I'd also recommend the salted caramel, which is flavorful without being too sweet or too heavy. I wouldn't necessarily recommend the mixed berry, which tastes like the berry smoothie from Costco but for double the price, or the coffee, which was weaker than I was hoping for (the coffee ice cream at Betty Rae's is absolutely perfect if you're looking for that). This Overland Park location is in north OP right next to Strang Hall and a variety of other restaurants, so it's an easy walk over from lunch or dinner. There's lots of seating both indoor and outdoor, the location is very cute, and the staff gives generous samples. Go get that gelato!

There's 4 street parking stalls out front on Johnson Dr. The inside is clean & AC was nice on hot days. The girl behind the counter was nice & gave us samples of the gelato that we were curious about. Wifey selected a med cup of dark chocolate and strawberry. I got the med cup with pistachio and coconut. We watched the girl making our cups and noticed she gave more of one flavor than the other in each of our cups. I was a lil disappointed about that. It ended up being 2/3 dark chocolate and 1/3 strawberry in wifey's cup. There was 2/3 pistachio and 1/3 coconut in mine. I like even amounts if you're gonna have a cup with 2 flavors. Lil bit of one flavor mixed with the second flavor. I ended up with a bit more pistachio than I expected. Wifey definitely had more dark chocolate than strawberry. I think next time we'll ask if they can scoop closer to even amounts of each. Although the total amount of gelato was more than worth the cost. We did sit inside since outside was pretty hot and almost no breeze. The place had 3 tables. One had seating for 4 and the other 2 had seating for 2 each. When we entered one of the 2 seater tables had 2 ladies that were jus sitting there with drinks and talking and laughing really loudly. It was echoing in the small room. Other than that it was nice in that cozy lil shop. We liked how the girl behind the counter was patient and welcomed us when we told her it was our first time there. I wanna try some other combos next time. This place reminds me of the lil gelato place we liked back home in Hawaii. A Hui Hou!

It was quite busy when we stopped in nevertheless the staff was very friendly and happy to let us sample flavors before ordering, which I appreciated. The one thing that really stood out was the price ... and not in a good way. We paid $16 for two scoops of ice cream, which felt pretty outrageous for what we got. I truly enjoy supporting local businesses, and I understand that rising costs and high rent can play a role, but it still didn't feel worth it. I didn't rate them too low based on that because they're doing a great job! If you're going for the atmosphere and experience, it could be a fun stop. But if you're thinking about value for money, it may come across as a bit underwhelming.

I tried maybe 4 or 5 flavors and each time they gave it to me on a small steel spoon, which I really appreciated. I like that they don't use much plastic spoons just for tasting so full marks to them for that. I didn't notice any seasonal flavors when I was there but I have heard they do have good seasonal ones too sometimes. The ones I tried were lavender honey, chocolate fudge, coffee, and lemon cake and I honestly loved all of them. I also asked if they had any ice creams with less sugar since I am a diabetic and they had no information about it. I ended up getting half a scoop of the kids cup :) I don't understand why this location has less rating than it deserves. I would give it 5 out of 5 and surely recommend everyone to check it out.

There are a few tables outside on the sidewalk if you want to stay and enjoy your ice cream on the spot. The next thing you'll notice are all of the interesting flavors, my favorite so far has been the banana haze, but I have a feeling they all are good.
