Really good ice cream! So pretty with the lights outside. Love the neon signs. The walls look like you're in a cartoon.

This ice cream was delicious! Smooth and creamy. I ordered the "Every Day is Your Birthday" - vanilla ice cream, cheesecake, bites, graham crackers, and strawberries. There is a nice list of options on their menu. The space is clean and there's nice outdoor seating.

Cinnamon something. Ice cream, cinnamon toast crunch, teddy grams, and Grams Cracker dusting.

6, 7, 8 stars if I could. HOLY COW!!!!! I have never had ice cream like this before. They take scooped hard pack ice cream add toppings, stick it in a machine (that looks like its made for drilling oil) and it comes out as a soft serve. MIND BLOWN!!!!! You have to go check this place out. All I can say is thank goodness there isn't one of these by my home.

The little bae is the perfect treat - a small cup of soft serve (the sweet cream is delish) with mini chocolate chips or sprinkles for added fun. Service is friendly and they have lots of other topping options and several other flavors (chocolate, ube, matcha) including a vegan dole whip! Cute spot to pop in while strolling around the plaza

I'm not even gonna lie...this may be the best ice cream I ever had dawg. Man! My only suggestion is the line can get long during peak hours so make sure there's enough staff on board to keep the line moving. I wish I lived in Kansas City. This place would be getting my business often.

You can create your own swirl in a cup, cone, artisanal cone or milkshake. Choose from over 25+ mix in options or select from one of the signature choices like I did. I tried the Everyday is your Birthday cone. Cheesecake, strawberries and graham crackers. This was incredible. Talk about creating a new craving. Cute shop with a small seating area and a nice patio.

Cute ice cream spot at the Country Plaza. Different ice cream option that my kids enjoyed. They allowed us to sample before picking flavors. The place was very busy on Friday night.

Ice Cream Bae is a whimsical take on unique soft serve located on the Country Club Plaza with a fun list of flavors. If you catch your sweet tooth aching while walking around the wonderful shops surrounding the Plaza area, then do yourself a favor and visit this newer local ice cream outlet and skip the overdone corportate Cold Stone Creamery! You won't regret the luscious swirls of creamy, soft serve and the creative way they serve up their scoops, or...eh swirls. The inside is an Instagram foodie bloggers dream with aesthetic white walls lit up by fun neon signage, perfect for posing your pretty Lil Ice Cream Bae in front of. Also, the service is always friendly, with a lot of younger people working there who tend to seem to really enjoy their job's, which brings a sense of joy to the ice cream palor. Anyway, if you aren't turned off by the nostalgia associated with soft serve (and really, how could you be?) then, any of Ice Cream Bae's easily accessible flavors from studded vanilla bean, to mild milky matcha and also, my personal favorite a rich sweet cream flavor. Any soft serve available can be blended into a custom creation, or you can choose from one of the pre-made serendipitous sundaes. I have tried everything from a fun take on a mighty matcha creation topped with poki in the same flavor and a dusting of yumminess to a cinnamon roll revamp hiding tiny teddy grams and a mini cinnamon roll bite, so decadent and delightfully playful. With every bite of melty soft serve you can't help but smile remembering childhood memories associated with the taste of Americana and Ice Cream Bae remixes that in just the right ways, creating a space for both adults and children to indulge in the delight of whimsical Ice cream creations.

I've always been a big fan of Ice Cream Bae since their opening in the Kansas City marketplace in the plaza. I'm glad to see they have their own shop on the plaza now! It was hard to find when driving as it was a bit tucked away. I came on a Sunday evening and I was the only customer there. The nice lady at the counter was very patient and friendly answering my questions and recommended me what to get. I wanted to branch out a bit and not get my usual. I was honestly not a fan of what I got. It was a interesting mixture of the two. Personally, not my favorite. After ordering and was waiting for the icecream, the place was very dirty and sticky. I didn't feel comfortable sitting so I opted to standing. The tables/counters had ice cream stains and there was trash left behind. My only feedback is there were a lot of workers that day that were in the back (not sure what they were doing) I would recommend to just check where your customers are waiting and make sure the area is at least clean. The Leawood location is always clean (so I would expect the Plaza one would be the same too).

Visited in December: Want luxurious ice cream that also looks pretty? Look no further. Ice Cream Bae is fantastic. The service was quick, and the workers were friendly! I got the S'mores ice cream. I would highly recommend sharing. I could even eat a 1/4 of the serving. It was super rich and delicious. You get a lot for your money. A must try if you live in KC or just visiting.

Refreshing...refreshing....refreshing This was a pleasant treat after packing boxes at work all day. I'm a newbie so I wasn't quite sure what to order, but if there's a Smores option on the menu I have to sample it. The ambiance gives you the old ice cream parlor vibe in my opinion, with a modern twist. I wished the entryway was a bit bigger. With the size of it, it didn't allow for more than 2 people to stand in line. But that didn't seem to detour people away. I will certainly be back to try another menu item and plan to bring other newbies with me !! Forgot to mention, this review was for the Plaza location.

Vanilla with Oreo Mix in- the place is cute and the ice cream is yummy. There is a menu with a variety of signature mix-ins and I decided to do my own which was a good choice. This location is petite, it has some seating inside and 2 tables with seating outdoors. Service was pretty quick as well even though there was a long line of people.

This shop is absolutely adorable , the decor, the music, the energy of immaculate. The service was kind and patient. The ice cream was yummy! There are gluten free options! I do feel that there could have Been a better topping to icecream ratio.

So I'm surprised it took me this long to write a review. We stopped by the River Market location last night, and one of the quickest ways to judge a place is simply to look around. There was a line of people waiting to get in and others lingering outside, happily working their way through whatever they had just ordered. That's usually a pretty good sign. A few years ago, Betty Rae's closed its shops, and there was real concern that the brand might disappear for good. Then Matt Shatto of Shatto Milk Company rode in on the proverbial white horse, revived the brand and began expanding it again. I clearly need a few more visits to work my way through the flavor options. When you first walk in, you'll see wooden blocks displaying flavors. Those are just some of the classics that are always available. The big menu behind the freezer cases is where the real decision-making begins. And if you can't decide, the staff is more than happy to let you sample your way through the case. As someone who considers chocolate chip cookies and cookie dough their own food groups, I went with the Cookie Dough. What stood out most was the texture. It was incredibly rich, dense and creamy, almost closer to frozen custard than traditional ice cream. My niece, who is a far more experienced Betty Rae's customer, swears by the Lavender and Caramel combination. I'm not sure I would have ever put those two together, which is probably another reason I need to go back. And Betty Rae's is about more than what's in the cup. The River Market shop has a comfortable, funky personality that fits the neighborhood perfectly. The servers were exceptionally friendly, and even the music is part of the experience. You can find their playlist on Spotify. Great ice cream. Fun place. Terrific people. And apparently, I have a lot more flavors to try.

I love a lot of spots around the metro, but let's be honest, some of them get crazy busy and you end up waiting in line for a while. That's not a dealbreaker, but with a summer of social distancing, it's nice to have a spot like Annedore's that is tucked into the neighborhoods, has outdoor seating, and is never too busy. Their gelato is so good, and the service is friendly as it gets. We've made a tradition of walking up here as a family once a week, and together we've ordered or sampled: Cookies & Cream, Birthday Cake, Mint Chip, Chocolate Chip, Coconut, Strawberry, Berry Sorbet, Vanilla, and Lemon Basil. All are great (not crazy about the birthday cake one my kiddo always gets), the Berry Sorbet and Lemon Basil are standouts on a hot day. Their portions are generous, prices are very fair, the outdoor seating is great, and it's a very clean shop. Oh, and I recently discovered that macarons are delicious, and theirs are some of the best around. They're around $2.50 a pop and well worth it. I cannot recommend this place enough for gelato, macarons, and of course chocolate if that's your thing. Want to skip lines for ice cream (well, gelato) this summer and still support local?
