I honestly don't understand how this Cold Stone location stays open. The service here is unbelievably slow. There are a couple of girls behind the counter who seem to have absolutely zero energy or urgency. Scooping ice cream is literally the core job here, yet they can barely manage to scoop enough to fill a cup. Be prepared to stand in line for 30-40 minutes only to receive the most underwhelming cup of ice cream imaginable. After all that waiting, you'd expect at least a decent portion, but instead you get a half-filled cup that feels like a complete rip-off. When you're paying close to $10 for a treat, the experience shouldn't be this frustrating or disappointing. The lack of motivation and basic service effort here is honestly shocking for a place in the service industry. If you're craving Cold Stone, do yourself a favor and go to another location. Our recent visit to Cold Stone Creamery was definitely memorable--but not for the reasons you'd expect. The wait time was insane, with a line of about 20 people and only one young man working behind the counter. It was clear the store was severely understaffed, and yet, that single employee handled it all with patience, kindness, and a genuinely sweet attitude. He never once showed frustration, even though most people in his position would have been overwhelmed or in a terrible mood. I wish I had gotten his name ! While we were impressed by his work ethic and positivity, it's disappointing to see a company put that kind of pressure on one individual. Cold Stone needs to treat its workers better--this young man deserves support, not to be left on his own in a packed store. Mind you he was MAYBE 17-18 years old. I asked for the mint mint chocolate chocolate chip which should have brownies and fudge drizzle and chocolate chips. I was given mint chip icecream..... I could have bought the Tillamook brand at Walmart for the price of their little bowl. My littles then needed to use the restroom we walked in and it looked like it hadn't been cleaned all weekend. I love cold stone creamery. The ice cream is top tier. This particular location on pat booker though always takes 45+ minutes to serve 6 people ice cream. It's ran by teenagers which isn't a problem but there is zero sense of urgency. I have been standing in line and have watched groups of people walk out because of how slow they are here. They could improve the scenery better by making sure the tables are wiped down. They were kinda dirty and had remnants of ice cream drippings. To preface, my boyfriend and I are avid Cold Stone lovers. Before moving to this area a few months ago, we would always visit Cold Stones around our old city. We've never ONCE received any push back or attitude from the servers for asking very simple requests. I also very very rarely feel the need to write reviews. I have also spent many years working in the restaurant industry, and therefore show respect to servers, as I know how it feels when getting rude customers. Tonight was our first night at this location. We went in about 6:45ish. The straight up ATTITUDE we received from the boy kid (tall, skinny, black wavy/curly hair) was honestly shocking and completely unwarranted. I had ordered a Love It size, and asked for him to put it in the larger cup. All he did was stare at me. I explained to him it was because I want extra room in the cup, I don't like when the ice cream drips down the side. His response was that "well it doesnt do that anyway." Ok. Not sure what the problem is. My boyfriend stepped in and asked if we could please have it in the bigger cup. At which he responded VERY rudely, "well I would need to charge you for it." Okay that's fine. He charged us a Gotta Have It size, and I got this. So sloppy, stuff spilt over the side of it. I never asked for extra ice cream, or extra inclusions in the ice cream. My father, nephew and I were being serviced by the owner of this cold stone location. We come here often and my 10 year old nephew ordered a Gotta Have It size with cream/coffee mixed ice cream with TWIX and marshmallow. My father and I had Like It sized signature ice creams. Hannah, the manager wrote down on a little tablet exactly what we ordered and read our order back to us for confirmation. When we received our ice cream outside we all were having casual conversations and then my nephew expressed that his throat felt like it was closing up. He also mentioned that the chocolate candy in the ice cream didn't taste like Twix. I tasted it and realized that HANNAH put in Snickers instead of Twix. My nephew has a PEANUT ALLERGY. I run inside and tell her to stop what she is doing and to give me an additional water bottle. I also tell her how terribly she messed up and put my nephews life at risk! Thankfully my nephews allergic reactions are getting better as he gets older but it still affects him. Even though he ate a very small piece of the chocolate he could feel his chest start tightening up. HANNAH comes outside and says she can make him another ice cream. ANOTHER ICE CREAM? You think a child with an allergic reaction needs another ice cream? She continues to say that we need to pay for the water bottle.. without any care in the world to make sure that my nephew is okay. She failed to recognize her wrong doings. Hannah begins to say that it was our job to tell her about his allergy. No.. it was her job to DO HER JOB! She begins to approach the table- getting closer to us and starts raising her voice. I feel threatened as I'm trying to make sure my nephew is going to be okay and deal with her aggressiveness. I tell her to back the hell up and give us our money back. This conversation is occurring as we are getting ready to leave and get the epipen that was on the counter in our house to put in his body. HANNAH the owner tells us that she won't give us our money back and that it's our fault for not telling her about his allergy. She kept repeatedly saying that we need to leave, we need to leave, we need to leave. When I asked her for her last name she wouldn't give it. I asked her for her corporate office number she said "go look it up" rolled her eyes and had her hands motion for us to leave. Not one ounce of care, empathy or understanding of a problem she started. My nephew had to get stabbed with TWO epipens, was admitted to the ER and missed a day of school. Hannah failed on EVERY level of customer service and had no kind of patience for the amount of frustration my family and I had. Simply being empathetic as an employee at your job is NEEDED. But to be an owner and having the audacity to set this example is terrible! We truly feel like the only reason for her to act this way had to do with us being racially profiled. I've never been treated like this in life. Thank GOD my nephew is safe and will be okay. When asked to get our money back she said she wouldn't give it and that her drawer is closed. HANNAH does not deserve to work another day in this location or any job at that. She is extremely disrespectful, combative and evil. Her intentions truly were shown yesterday and displayed the type of representation that this location has. She needs to be held accountable for. Just TERRIBLE. Take responsibility for your ACTIONS AND WRONGDOINGS. Whether she made a mistake or there was chocolate mixed in the tupawear. This is a safety hazard and it is important for all locations to exercise that for the sake of their customers. We have NEVER had this issue and we don't have to state anything about his allergy if you just DO YOUR JOB. Please see the photos attached.
