One boy kid specifically impressed me with his great customer service and patience. Okay. My boyfriend took me here for the first time today and it was awful. There were 3 working up front and 1 restocking ice cream. The line wasn't too long but when they took the orders they had to ask the guests several times about their order when they were completely clear with what they wanted. While we waited to have our order taken the people up front were walking around and just looked clueless. Nobody knew what they were doing. When they finally took our order my boyfriend ordered and they said are you sure that's all you want? Yes guys come on. When I ordered I asked them if they said they had a waffle cone for the size bowl and they said yes so I told them that's what I wanted the guy told me they didn't have the cone after all. So I finally just got the next size up with the waffle cone. When we walked out to the car I tried the waffle bowl and it was completely soggy and just not great. A waste of 2 dollars I would say. Cold stone needs to take some advice from Baskin Robbins. I will continue to take my business there instead. read more

I really enjoy Cold Stone and have come to this location a dozen times. Very rarely do any of the employees at this location smile or treat me as a patron wanting to enjoy a night out with my family. I had the distinct displeasure of having the elderly man with a beard take my family's order last time. After he finally came out from the back (after waiting five minutes with no one at the counter), he just looked at us without even saying a word as if we were inconveniencing his evening nap. I am not joking here: he took my family's four orders, made them, and then went to the counter without saying a word or smiling! This guy, and his entire crew, exhibit some of the WORST customer service I have ever encountered. Earth to Live Oak Cold Stone: you're in the ice cream industry! The people who work here do not act like they are in the "fun" business; it's as if this place is a front for something else and they're just acting the part. We've come about 3 times and the first time it was great. The second time it did take a longer amount of time and the banana ice cream didn't taste that good. And the third time the banana ice cream tasted rancid. So I called to see if they could change it and thankfully they did. Yup, an ant crawled out of the waffle cup. In the trash, and out we go. Never to return. Also, the inside was a mess, tables and floor dirty filthy! How hard is it to run a mop and rag down some tables? The ice creams are great, one of the best in town if your visiting san antonio, the only down fall of this specific one is that the stuff doesn't maintain the area clean because when we went there the floor was sticky like they haven't mop the floor and the tables are sticky. I would say that even though it gets busy in differents hours of the day they should make an effort to get somebody and wipe the table and mop the floor. overall it's ok. read more

I wanted to get ice cream with friends after dinner so we decided to stop by Cold stone. I got the s'mores ice cream small cup and my 2 friends got each a flavor and a topping. I head to check out cause I was first and I payed and usually I don't need a receipt so I said no when the employee asked but then my friend asked why I was charged 17 dollars for one cup. The employee realized he had accidentally put us all on the same check, I wasn't worried and just asked if I could get a refund for the two extra ice creams. He calls over one of his coworkers I think her name was Dee and explained what happened. She was very rude from the start when I was very polite explaining what happened she ended up putting a bunch of refunds and then saying she would have to call her manager. I was fine with waiting and finally someone picked up and he told her that I cannot be refunded. She said "Yeah that's what I told them" and decided to tell my friends they need to cash app me or something and it's not her problem. I work in the food industry so I understand accidents happen but being rude to a customer who is very nicely asking to just be refunded for something I didn't buy and getting told it's not their problem is ridiculous. read more

This place was hoppin on a warm Saturday afternoon, which actually surprised me because I figured pricey gourmet ice cream is rather a luxury item and wouldn't last too long against the recent frozen yogurt trend. I myself would rather have bought cheaper, quality ice cream or fro yo in greater quantity at a grocery store, but I had a $10 giftcard I had been meaning to use for quite sometime now and unlike the Circuit City giftcard my manpanion has, I wanted to use it before (my prediction) Coldstone shuts its doors for good. Fortunately, none of the odd or off putting experiences that happened to previous Yelpers happened to me. No hairs in my order or terrible staff. Two large Gotta Have It ice creams (scoop was about the size of a baseball) were $12.54, or six buck each and a choice of waffle cone or cup. Meh. I ordered the German chocolate cake, which had caramel, a brownie, coconut shavings, and (erroneously) walnuts mashed into it. Should've been pecans; maybe the employee, although friendly, didn't know hers nuts haha. Coconut shavings were like thick paper shredder debris and didn't mesh well, but it was still delicious but not extraordinary. Manpanion ordered the mint chip ice cream, which had chocolate chips and a brownie mashed into it. The creamy light aromatic flavor of the mint chip was literally the best mint I've ever had and consequently redeems this review from 3 to 4 stars. I had never had anything like it. Regardless, I stand by what I say about purchasing better, cheaper, simply more ice cream from the grocery store and would only go here if I had a giftcard. read more

There were maybe 7 other people in front of us, the servers were rude and never greeted anyone in the line. When it was our turn, my girlfriend placed her order while I waited. When the other server returned from the cashier station, he skipped over me and went to the customer behind me and never acknowledged if I ordered or not. Since moving into San Antonio from Pipe Creek this was the closest ice cream place to us we started going repeatedly to this one because of the great service from the employees. We hadn't been back in since September 2017 boy how it has changed since then. I waited for over 30 minutes to get my ice cream i ordered Cheesecake Fantasy it was horrible after waiting forever to pay for it I had just taken about 4 bites and threw it away before leaving the place. I found out it has been sold and under new management and new personnel who don't know how to create the wonderful creations. This store was once great and I am not sure what happen. My wife and I would go in maybe once a month and spoil ourselves. We would take a coupon and get 2 for one for about 8bucks and tip 5 bucks. This Establishment was horrible! Me and my 4 year old came in to enjoy some ice cream and I was very disappointed with what I was greeted with. The ice cream parlor was infested with flies and it gave off a horrible smell, almost like old milk. The customer service was horrible, as soon as I began to say my order I was immediately met with an attitude by the blonde worker that was serving me. The cake batter ice cream that I received was freezer burnt and the mix in that I had (which was fudge) was very clumpy and very unappetizing. I will never again come back to this horrible location. Remember when you use to walk into these stores and the first thing they would do is greet you? Even if they were super busy, they still managed to spit out the words, "Hi! Welcome to Cold Stone!" Yeah, apparently not at this location. So I'm waiting in line and it seems to be moving at a decent speed with two workers behind the ice cream bar. I decide I'm going to order the "Brownie A La Cold" for my fiancé and I to share. When I ask the young girl how big the brownie is she answers with, "It's a square" Ummm...yeah that's a shape and not a size! I was hoping to get something in ounces back but apparently she didn't learn that part of the job. She serves up the ice cream and only puts fudge and shaved chocolate on it. When she hands it to me I tell her she forgot to add the caramel and pecans. She said it doesn't come with It and when I pointed at the huge picture behind her that clearly shows the description with the name of what I ordered she says, "Oh." The only other thing on the menu that was chocolate was the "chocolate lava meltdown" which by the way isn't a brownie it's a cake. She heads back to the back to grab what I originally asked for and puts one of the saddest scoops of ice cream on what was the smallest piece of brownie I'd ever seen. If you were to put the two she made together side by side, you would've chosen the first one because of the generous amount of ice cream. It's almost like she was annoyed that she clearly didn't hear me even after answering the brownie size was a square. I have never been so angry to the point where I just wanted to walk out and not get what I asked for. We love cold stone. Its our favorite ice cream. But service on this place is not good at all. It's like there is only one older gentleman working there. You can tell he wasn't happy. Just didn't have the environment that I am used to when I visit the other cold stone store location. I end up buying the Love it size since he said they don't have Like it size. No smile or anything. Just not friendly. Then he made the ice cream and he didn't even try to put an effort to mix it. So All I taste is just the cookie dough ice cream since all the mix ins are in the bottom. I was expecting it to be pretty bad here based on the reviews. But I'm an optimist. Plenty of improvements could have taken place since the last Yelp review was posted. I am happy to report there were no sticky floors, mysterious hairs, or bugs anywhere in sight. Yay! The ice cream was good. There was one employee there when my son and I arrived. He seemed all business and no personality. No greeting when we walked in. No smile. Nothing. I cracked a joke just to see what would happen but no real response. I think I heard crickets. Oh well. I ordered a cake for fathers day for pick up and chose a time that I realized I would not be able to keep. I called this location only to be rudely told that the line was wrapped around the store and they could not help me, call back later. I would not have minded calling back, however the rudeness from the employee left me angry and taken aback. I called 3 hours later, no answer. 30 minutes after that, no answer, and again 30 minutes after and no answer. I called the next day and am still listening to endless dial tones as no one bothers to pick up. So I'm reduced to physically having to go to a location to now cancel an order because the service is just terrible whereas before I simply wanted to reschedule my pickup to another time. We pull up at 10 minutes until 10pm on 10/19/2016 and the girl working in the store walks up and shuts off the OPEN light sign as soon as she sees us park. The store hours are listed as open until 10pm. We wanted a simple cup of banana ice cream. Wouldn't have even taken five minutes to make it and clean the tools used to make it.
