The space is a great size with plenty of room and lots of tables making it easy to hang out with friends. One thing I really appreciated was seeing how supportive and welcoming the owners are to the kids in the nearby neighborhood. You can tell they're comfortable letting the kids come in after skateboarding outside, grab something to eat and drink, and hang out with their friends. It gives the place a really nice community feel. And of course, the food! The Korean corn dogs are made to order, so they're super fresh and have that amazing cheese stretch! The mochinut donuts were made to perfection - fresh, delicious, and such a fun treat. I also have to mention the drinks! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the cashier and placing our order was quick and easy. While looking for a table, I noticed how clean the floors and tables were, which always makes for a better experience. I also liked that the shop was small and had a quiet atmosphere without a lot of noise. Decided to stop by because my sister wanted a snack before we headed back home. We ordered a potato corn dog with half cheese and half hot dog, two Hot Cheetos corn dogs with half cheese and half hot dog, two mangoes with jelly, and a mango chai tea with boba. Everything came out super good! Next time, I'll probably go with a full hot dog instead of the half cheese option, and I definitely want to try the potato corn dog for myself. One thing I really liked was that the inside was a little darker than most places. It was pretty hot outside and we'd been out all day, so it felt nice to come in, cool off, and relax. Okay so I have been to mochinut before but today was my first time stopping in at this location and let me tell you the difference was absolutely shocking! The employees here were much more attentive and efficient in their work. They were extremely helpful. They brought out the food quick. They also kept the restaurant in pristine condition. They obviously take pride in their work and make the experience just that much better than the other location. The place was so spotless and organized. I was really impressed. The food came out super hot and delicious. I never knew that the Mochinut name could live up to this standard. They even make the donuts look so much better and tastier. We visited here in early May, for my sister's bday! It wasn't too busy when we arrived, but as y'all may know, trying to get a family order for 6 in can get hectic. The cashiers were very polite as I tried to line everyone up to order. The music was fun and had my wife and sisters bursting into song as they recognized them. I got the hot cheeto half and half (half hot dog, half mozzarella), a honeydew boba smoothie with tapioca, and a churro mochi donut. The dog had a good cheese pull! Crumbled hot cheeto covered the entire thing and I had no complaints; I love spicy. Hot Cheeto coating can easily get soggy, but the added crunch and spice was very welcome. I would get a churro mochi donut again! Classic flavor. I love a honeydew boba as it's sweet without being overbearing. My siblings all got a mix of korean dogs with hot cheeto, potato mozzarella, and crispy ramen being the top 3. The birthday girl actually got a cheese pull off the potato mozzarella that spanned the table, probably about 2.5-3 feet! If the cheese didn't almost touch the table, she might have gotten more distance LOL The final verdict on the dogs was, from best to least favorite, hot cheeto, potato mozzarella, crispy ramen. Really nice! My friend and I stopped by after brunch at Lova Cafe and he asked what this spot was. I told him they sold mochi donuts and his eyes lit up. We ended up having "dessert" here instead of at the cafe. The cafe was clean and there were no other customers inside so the wait was nonexistent. After peering at the selection behind the glass, we chose three for a box of three and split one in the shop. Mochinut's flavors change daily. We got biscoff cookie, strawberry (with a pocky stick!), and churro flavored. We split the strawberry mochi donut and it was perfect. Soft and chewy, and not heavy at all. I let my friend keep the remaining two donuts, but I know from previous experiences at another location that the churro flavor is also pretty great. Anyway, this location is way outside my normal stomping grounds so I don't see myself stopping by regularly. But it was still a pleasant surprise to see one of these. read more

The melona was surprisingly delicious. I love the texture of these Mochi donuts. They also have a small menu of drinks to choose from with boba and jellies in it. We tried a mango and taro drink. Besides Mochi donut and drinks, they also have Korean corn dogs. There is a sign that there is a short wait time for the Korean corn dogs. The staff was friendly and suggested what drink and donut flavor to get. There are a few tables and chairs to hang out while you enjoy your drink and Mochi donut. Ordered all 6 flavors of the day to get a sample of Mochi donuts 1/2 dozen at about $17.00 + with tax. The donuts were just ok, nothing to " wow" me at that price point. Texture is expected from mochi and the topping (flavor) that was tasty was the Lychee... I asked my family how they like it? " good" but again they stated not worth the price point and being the customer environment not too friendly, unlike customer experience say at Crumbl Cookies, where you get a warm friendly greeting and I gladly pay for the premium cost of their cookies. I've only ever tried the donuts here so my review is for those. We've been to the other location off I-10 and enjoyed the donuts so we were happy to see one closer to us in the Stone Oak area. They have 6 different flavors of donuts and flavors changes daily. The shop was decorated in a cute way with lots of flowers on the walls. There was one person working at the counter who was very polite and worked on the orders for us and people in front of us quickly. Mochinut donuts are made from tapioca flour, the texture is soft and slightly chewy inside which I enjoy because it holds the flavors nicely. We had churro, chocolate and vanilla flavors, all were delicious and half eaten before we left the parking lot. While I love the original mochi donuts from Japan, Mochinut is as close as you can get here in San Antonio. However, it has been highly Americanized in that flavors are super sweet. They are super pretty, but the flavors definitely over power the the taste and texture of the mochi donut. With that said, prices are crazy high for a donut. And because the donuts are just out in the open instead of in a closed display, they don't taste as fresh. I prefer more subtle flavors such as a simple syrup glaze. The Korean corn dogs were pricey, but definitely nothing compared to authentic Korean dogs in terms of flavor. Either the batter wasn't made right or the dogs weren't fried long enough, but it didn't hold its shape. It was on the greasier side and the dogs started to lose its shape after it was fried as well as slide down the stick. I am use to the dogs having a sugar-cheese powder dusting on the original, but they didn't have that option at all. It was also Americanized like the donuts. We ordered a few and some of the cheese didn't melt properly even though it was golden brown on the outside. Service was great, but it is a long wait for the Korean dogs. I do like the cornflake one as it was a bit sweet and savory. I like the hint of sweetness on something fried and heavy. Overall, it's a fun and new addition for San Antonians. I would definitely recommend to the locals and anyone who's open to trying something different. Would I come back, probably since this is the only place so far with Korean dogs and my son loves them, especially the hot cheeto one. But, it'll be awhile before I return. I probably won't be interested in the mochi donuts though as they are super sweet for me. They do have different flavors so I might come back for the doughnuts depending on the flavors. I took away 2 stars for the over-sweet doughnut flavors and the greasiness of the Korean dogs. read more

We drove by a new Mochinut location near our house so we had to check it out. My family loves donuts so we were eager to try these Rice flour mochi "donut" type treats. We have a few donut bakeries near our home and pay @ $10 for a dozen so we had a bit of sticker shock that the mochi donuts were $30 per dozen (or $3.00 each). This is closer in price to gourmet cupcakes or mini Bundt cakes so we figured they must be extra special. Honestly, they were okay ... I agree that the texture is more chewy, almost reminded me of bread pudding but they were quite plain. In some of their photos, the donuts are topped with little candies or treats but the only one similar was the strawberry. We purchased six donuts which came to about $17 with tax. Searched Yelp for a bakery. Needed something sweet after a salty meal. This place did not disappoint! I don't think I would've even known about it had I not searched on Yelp. Looks like a teen hangout sort of place. We tried the Churro, Cherry, and Funnel cake. I really liked the Churro. My husband really liked the Cherry, although there was a pearl looking thing in it. I don't care for the mochi doughnuts. The texture is fun, but they are ready too sweet and fake tasting for me. However, I LOVE the kdogs. I've decided that the cheddar dogs are my favorite. 1) because I'm lactose intolerant and cheddar has less lactose than mozzarella. And 2) because the cheese and dog are together the whole length, vs half just cheese and half just dog. I also appreciate that they put sugar out with the condiments, now. Because I was introduced to kdogs as being coated in sugar, which gives it a funnel cake flavor on the outside, mixed with the savory inside.
