Came here on Valentines Day to surprise my partner with their favorite ice cream. I see the other reviews and I haven't had any issues with service or rudeness when I've ordered here. However, I have only came by in the last few months while the reviews were over 6 months old. Unsure if management came and resolved the issue but for me, the employees have been very helpful and friendly. Whatever happened, keep it going management. They have bad customer service, it was around 9:20pm when I ordered ice cream and I am only mentioning the time because of what happened later on, I was with a small group of friends and we sat down at their tables when a few minutes into eating my ice cream (there was 3 teenage workers) one of the girls working there completely turned the lights off and then started flicking it, and the other girl working told her to stop but she said "I don't care I'll do it again" mind you me and my friends were the only ones there at the moment so I told my friends "They are hinting at us to leave now" when by the time this happened it was 9:30pm and they had half an hour left before closing. More customers walked in the second we got up to leave so lol their work wasn't finished yet. It was just very rude that's why I'm sharing this and seeing these reviews after that happened did not surprise me because wow none of us are exaggerating lol they need to do better. read more

If I could, I'd give this Cold Stone a zero. The gal put the wrong sauce and insisted it was correct, I pointed out the sign and the fact that it said chocolate sauce. Staff came off with the attitude that they wished customers didn't come in. I was shocked when my order was made because they didn't ask me if I wanted a bowl or a cone they just assumed and tossed the ice cream across the counter. I do not recommend going here. I came to Cold Stone to pick up two online orders. When I arrived, the staff just stared and gave a forced "hello." I told them I had two orders and gave them both names. They had trouble finding my girlfriend's order, which I assume that they didn't label 2 out of the 3 bags they had. They even asked me if there was another name, but there wasn't. I explained she ordered a smoothie, and they finally opened one of the unmarked bags which was indeed hers. After that, they had us sign the receipts, which clearly had the exact name I'd been telling them from the start. To make things worse, the smoothie had huge chunks of ice and couldn't even be sipped through the straw. We ended up having to blend it again at home. *Friday 11/14* If you're buying a "ready made" cake from here, BE CAREFUL! The freezers in front of the store which have the ready made cakes on display were both locked. We told Daniela we wanted to purchase a cake but the freezer was locked. We told her we wanted the strawberry cheesecake paradise cake. Instead of letting us pick one, she grabbed one out the freezer and immediately took it to the register and we were unable to look at it until we purchased it. When we got home, I noticed there was writing in permanent marker that read "9-16". I noticed a lot of ice on the top and sides of the cake as if it was already freezer burned and had been sitting for a long time. I immediately called store and asked if the writing in permanent marker was the date the cake was made. Daniela was hesitant to answer and said "ummm yea I think". I asked if I could come back and return the cake as it didn't seem right to eat a cake that was already freezer burned. She said they can't put the cake back in the freezer. She then inquired with her colleague, Yair, and he told her the manager cis the only one to issue a refund. She then told me managers only work week days and they were closing in less than 20 minutes so I would have to come tomorrow. Being that the next day was Saturday, I asked if anybody would be there to help since she stated managers only worked week days. She then said no only Monday. I let her know I don't feel comfortable waiting until Monday but if she can leave a note that I called right when I got home with the cake. She seemed so uninterested and just stayed quiet most of the time. Unfortunately, we threw the cake away as it was not edible. I hope management does better about keeping an eye on what's in their freezers. Training would also be great for their employees! Does anyone out of high school work at this location? The last two times I've received horrible service from kids who can't be older than seniors in high school, and no manager around. Ordered online, and when I came to an empty store to get my order I was ignored for at least 2 mins, while each of the 3 employees all made eye contact with me, and continued to ignore me until I asked for help. I'm assuming they thought I was a DoorDash driver, and I can also assume DoorDash drivers are impatient and pushy, but I'm not DoorDash driver, I ordered and picked up my own order. Then the two girls who helped me were extremely rude, and acted bothered they needed to do their jobs. I called and asked for a manager, and of course not one there. Also, upon returning home found plastic in my daughter's order, paid for mix ins and didn't receive them, and the marshmallows in my daughter's order were extremely stale. If you're gonna have children working at least teach them some customer service skills since they're clearly school aged. Wish there was a 0 star option. read more

Super Friendly and felt welcomed, very clean place, i definitely would recommend if your in the mood ice-cream. #1 ice cream shop in Manteca. Give Fernando a raise and a promotion. I do not know what happened to this place. It was so good a few months ago but now NO WAY. We came here last week to get the kids some ice-cream. The girls behind the counter were so rude and acted like they were doing me a favor for even talking to me. I have been to so many places that are "super busy" due to covid and I have not been met with the rudeness that I was met with here at cold stone. Using "we are too busy because of covid" is a poor excuse for disgusting attitudes. Its business, I pay you provide service. This review is based mostly on Saturday night Jan 25th around 9:30pm. This is the second time seeming this guy work here and is I would have to say is the most unprofessional and unpleasant person I have seen working in an establishment like this. This kid needs to be fired.... he talks crap about customers to others without care of others hearing... I was lucky he was not making my ice cream or there would have been issues.... The customer he was helping was asking for his managers number erc.. he tells them I will give you ice cream for free if you dont call please.... this guy had this place a pig sty.. he was making people ice cream into piles he did not clean up previously. I believe he was in charge and had mostly all items taken in back with over 1/2he till close. The others working with him where so uncomfortable trying to be nice while he clearly dont care about his job or anybody else.... This kid needs to be fired period...... read more

I don't know why I am just getting around to writing this review because our experience was awful. My young son, sis, her boyfriend and I came into the Manteca Cold Stone around 8:30pm on a Friday or Saturday evening a few weeks ago. Upon entering there was the most offensive music playing throughout the store. I thought maybe it was just one song but it just kept going. And the three young ladies working behind the counter didn't seem to pay any mind. I kindly asked them if they could change the music because it was very offensive (and I'm not just talking about a couple of cuss words either it was very sexually explicit lyrics and a cuss word every other word) there were younger children in the store. The one girl whose name tag read America rolled her eyes and went to the back. Eventually it was turned off but the way these young ladies handled the situation was with giggles and the most unprofessional behavior I've ever witnessed. Every single time I come here, worst customer service from every employee that has mixed my cup. I don't even know why I come to this location... Today, my husband and I encountered an employee that either was having a bad day or just plain rude. Idk if she's a manager or a regular employee but she's taller, curly hair, and wears glasses. She took my husband's order by asking "okay what do you want?" and afterwards threw his ice cream cup on the counter. Then proceeded to project "that's it?". Even though we made eye contact + I raised my hand + I said "no I still have to order", she still was staring at my husband for an answer. Like whaat? We doordashed some ice cream and for the second time they forgot to add the waffle cone. Not to mention they charge $2.50 for the waffle bowl on doordash but it's only $1.00 in store. I called and told the store about the missing item and Alyssa who answered was dismissive and rude. I asked for a manager and was told one was not there. On another occasion when in the store the add ins were very light. I was here last night, and I'm going to be honest, the Ice cream was ehh, but the vibe's and attitudes of the night crew teenagers were shitty, from what seemed like one lady giving me a dirty look from the window before I entered, should of been my Q to save my money, to asking politely to the young lady helping me how her night has been? They just seemed in a rush to get me to leave, so I picked up the vibe and left fast. I've had multiple ice-cream cakes ordered for birthdays and they have been as delicious in taste as they are stunning in appearance. If I could give this place see stars I would. My husband, our kids, and myself came in to get some ice crea. When we walked in we were the only customers there, there were two girls working behind the counter and neither one of them greeted as they looked at us like they were pissed we had the audacity to come get ice cream. So I said Hi and neither one of them responded, I brushed it off and we began to order our ice cream. We ordered my son's ice cream who has a peanut allergy and I let the lady know she says okay I can get it from the back. There are 2 girls up front who never acknowledged me standing in line for approximately 10 minutes. Neither one said they'd be right with me, sorry for the wait, nothing. Ordered a cake for delivery on Saturday for Sunday more than 24 hours notice.. get a call at noon saying my order was not prioritized correctly but they could get my cake to me by 3 which it was due at 1;30 to be delivered.. no problem I'm ok with that.. as my party is getting started and trying to figure out why my cake has not been delivered I get a call at 3:10 saying my cake will not be delayed til 5:30-6pm because the chill blaster isn't working and the girl who called me had no solution except uhhhmmm uhhhmmmmm uhhhmmmm you want a refund? Not even an option of another cake, no type of customer service, extremely poor customer service! I even asked what could they offer in place that could be delivered since I had a party going on at that moment! YES, Manteca, they are OPEN!! And thank goodness because, I'll be honest, Baskin Robbins is fine and well, but Cold Stone has always won my heart with quality of ice cream. As someone who grew up in Modesto and moved here later, I am GLAD I no longer have to wait until I'm conveniently in the next town just for my favorite ice cream stop. Stop by and see for yourself. Nothing compares to the fresh, soft, creamy consistency and bold tastes of Cold Stone's ice cream. The company claims it's all made there on site, and judging by taste alone, I believe it! Also, try their warm desserts some time! Hot for Cookie is my favorite. Also, some Cold Stones offer BOBA, for anyone who's a fan of that. Had ice cream at this location after a long day of running around. The girls here, Julianna and Alenia were really cool, happy, and helpful. They gave us samples, and suggestions on what we might like. I got a "gotta have it" which is the biggest size, and I ate the whole thing. (I'm so full, but it was so good.) I think they mixed my ice cream on a dirty surface because there was a pink flavor in my cup and I ordered Oreo cream and cake batter... both white flavors. I didn't say anything because I'm not picky and work in food service as well so I know what it's like to get picked on by customers. But it's not really acceptable to be mixing flavors like that. You have to think what if the previous flavor had peanuts and the next person you mixed was allergic to nuts... it's just something to think about, their work surface looked very messy and they weren't cleaning it between customers.. my ice cream was good though. read more
