When I walked in the restaurant with my boyfriend for some ice cream, we had to wait at least two minutes for her to come out and help us. We were about to leave then she came out as we were leaving. We could see what she was doing-taking pictures of herself. She also asked me twice if I wanted a copy of my receipt. We went back tonight, 7/10, we saw two staff working and both were in the front waiting for customers. They both welcomed my boyfriend and I. Both ladies very helpful and polite. Definitely happier than I was last time we went to this location. We told the girl that was helping us about our experience last time and she stated that the girl doesn't work there anymore-my boyfriend and I both were relieved that it wasn't just us that saw her mistakes and unwillingness to work with people. Fathers Day, 2012. My family took me out for dinner, and we came here for dessert. Okay, so I paid for it, so they didn't really take me out, but they let me pick the place, so that qualifies. We got here around 6:30 on Sunday evening, and there wasn't anyone in line. But by 6:45, the line was stretching out the door. No idea what happened during that interval, but we were thankful to have gotten there when we did. If you want to compare this location to the now-closed site at Parkway Plaza mall, it's newer (duh) but smaller. I'd say the counter space is about only 2/3 of the length of the mall location, and the seating is even more limited. They had 5 seats inside, and about 2 or 3 tables outside. I had the "Like It" size (the smallest) of their Peanut Butter Fudge creation (it's on their menu, with chocolate ice cream, peanut butter, Reese's cups, and I forget what else) and it was too much for me to finish. I went to Cold Stone in Santee Sunday evening 7/11/2021 stood in line 38 mins to get to the counter and put my order in. Then they handed me the mid size cup of the order I put in and it did not make it to the rim of the cup. I looked and moved the spoon and there was a hollow in the middle of the ice cream. I asked for my money back and the kids there had to call the manager to get instruction on how to give the cash back. Let that sink in they had to "CALL THE MANAGER"! 3 teenagers that didn't have much of a clue what do or how to work together on the hottest day so far this summer in Santee and there was NO MANAGER or any other supervision on site to oversee operations. What can I say about Cold Stone other than it is so yummy!!!!!!!!!!!! I usually get the German Chocolate Cake or Sweat Cream with Peanut Butter and Brownie. Such sugary sweetness!! I docked them a star because they are REALLY inconsistent with size and more often than not we get the girl that really skimps! Come on...really?!?! Thanks for the lack of customer service. Extreme lack of customer service. It does not hurt to be accommodating to circumstances to accept a simple phone order. Literally just ice cream in the pint no mix in and staff does not have the ability to take the order. Yes, there are online orders and the ability to walk in and place the order, but your online order does not allow for pay at pick up nor does your walk in accommodate language barriers. Unless your staff speaks all languages and I assure you not one in their list of abilities. I just got back from attending a fundraiser at the Santee Coldstone. I had the coffee ice cream with chocolate chip mixed in. It was very tasty. Very creamy and the chocolate was the best. However, the main reason for this review is the owner. She is continually giving back to the community. This time it is to help sponsor my friend's Susan G. Komen's Three-Day Walk for Breast Cancer Research but I have heard that she donates other places as well. The owner Rick needs to get with the times. He doesn't accept the mobile coupon like the other stores. Heis a franchise but he gives Cold stone a bad name. However sometimes the service is god awful. Bunch of girls who clearly hate their life and take it out customers for no reason. Icecream was good but the customer service was terrible. Isabel and kaylee were not helpful at all. They seemed like they did not want to be there and they were very rude to me and my friends. There were 8 of us who wanted to get icecream, only 3 of us actually got icecream because the other people didn't like their customer service. I tried to contact Cold Stone about this matter but when you click "Report a Problem" on their website, it comes up blank every time. This location is unsanitary. Before scooping my ice cream, the person serving me (Kayleigh) wiped the ice cream scoops off on her apron. Then, when she handed me the ice cream, her top finger was touching my ice cream.. gross! Who knows how long it had been since she washed them (if at all). I shouldn't have accepted the ice cream or paid but I did because I didn't want to cause a scene. I went in looking for a birthday cake, mine. To my shock, the freezer was broken and was told that the ice cream cakes "were a little messed up." That is a complete contradiction of terms - a freezer broken in an ice cream store. The didn't have a small round one and wanted to sell me the remaining large one for $10 more. I asked if it was in the freezer too but they said it wasn't bad but the others were messed up because of the freezer. Wow! We went here yesterday around 3:00 and there were a few costumers in there, not too busy. There were two employees working, a young male and a young female. I'm guessing the male was somewhat new because he asked the female for instructions a few times. They were both very friendly TO US. The female, however was visibly a little impatient with the male as he was asking for help. If he is not new, and should know his job by now, I can understand her frustration. However, customers shouldn't be able to recognize it. If he is new, then there's no need to get impatient with him to begin with. Girls working were very rude, I wanted to order an ice cream with bananas I was told they were out of bananas because the monkeys came and ate them horrid response. So, only reason I'm even leaving one star is because I have to. This place is horrible. The manager, Kelly is by far the most rude person ever. Whole time we were in line she kept talking about how she was leaving and wasn't going to help her fellow coworkers out. Last time I was in there I printed out my coupon, the same manager exclaimed how she had to see the coupon on my email so she knew it was really mine.
