I really do not know a lot about coffee houses, since I never really frequented them. However, lately, after visiting Selva Coffee House at Terra Bella in Point Loma, I have been wanting to try different coffee houses. This particular Starbucks coffee House is located in a spacious site on the corner of the mini-mall in which it is located. There is plenty of parking all around the store, on both sides of the mini-mal. There is one nearby handicapped parking space that is very convenient of it is not taken when you arrive at the store. I ordered a large Caramel Latte, served with steamed milk. I believe they call this size a "Venti" to refer to the 20 ounce cup in the Italian Language. They also have a number of food items available for purchase, but I have never tried anything but the cup of coffee. read more

I wanna preface this by saying the employees at this store have always been stellar. Now, this issue happened a while back. The lady manager is not very kind to her employees. The day i went in, i witnessed her in full houseclothes, firing an employee. He seemed very calm, but she seemed to be escalating the situation saying something along the lines of "no we arent doing this, dont start making a scene" like lady youre the only one making a scene here, this kid is being calm and is leaving nicely of his own accord and youre treating him like that? What a disgrace. I feel terrible for all the employees at this store and i hope the manager either fixes her act, or doesnt work at this store any longer. read more

I came here and was greeted and assisted by Libby. What a doll! I wanted a vanilla sweet cream cold brew but they currently are not doing cold brews . I was actually going to leave because thats the only thing I like to drink here but she made a suggestion and was happy to assist me in trying to find another drink I might like. So luckily she saved my coffee day, thanks Libby. Those small things make all the difference. She also said if I didn't like it she'd be happy to remake it if needed. So appreciate that. I went here with my friends after we were at the first starbucks. All 5 of us walked in and sat down at the big table. It was pretty clean and it had plugs for computer charging which was good because we had to hop on our work zoom call together. We didn't order anything right away (we were planning on ordering something at some point for sure), and they didn't yell at us for chilling there for an hour before actually buying something. I used my gift cards and the cashier threw the receipt away before I could get it to see how much was left on my gift card. So I went up and asked the other cashier later and asked her to see how much was on my cards, and she even offered to write the new amount on them for me! Thank you how nice! Pre-Covid 19, I would always be at a Starbucks or coffee shop whenever I needed to study. Being at home can be distracting and I feel like I studying outside helps me to focus. I usually like to go to Starbucks locations that have good service, adequate parking, and ample tables. This location is one that meets all of that criteria for me. Some people aren't fans of the coffee served at Starbucks, but I like it. It's generally okay to good. At mom and pop shops, you can't always predict how the coffee will taste, but it seems that Starbucks is usually pretty consistent. Once in a while, I'll switch up locations. Just depends on my mood I guess. This location has clean tables and has good service. That's why I keep returning. This Starbucks never makes the London fog iced tea properly. I do a mobile order and watch them make it sometimes. They either don't let the tea steep long enough or use way too much water when they steep it and only use half the tea liquid in my drink, so either way you can never taste the tea. I've also paid extra to use 3 tea bags and watched them do the same thing to where I can't taste the tea. Very disappointing that I've been here about 10 times and they only made it properly once. read more

As a former barista I have to say: this was the slowest service ever. And unnecessarily so. The table of people who were ahead of me were must've been waiting a while because they were well into being seated upon arrival. But they didn't get their drinks until 3 minutes after I had ordered and was already seated. The mother and daughter behind my husband and I received their drinks ahead of us (which is no big deal for one drink as it was an iced chai and I get that). But moms Frappuccino® coming before my nitro or my husbands was a little odd. They weren't a to go order either. However I'm not sure if the barista on bar was new for the Frappuccinos. As another person said this location lacks in customer service. The woman taking my order was friendly however the barista making the drinks was chatting for over 10 minutes about nights out and whatever else with a customer friend person over the counter and it was unpleasant to stand there for that long listening to their conversation. When my coffee finally comes up it's a grande instead of a venti. I told the barista I ordered a venti and instead of apologizing and fixing the issue she picks up the cup looks at it and says well you were charged for a grande so do you mind going over to the "reg" (instead of register like a normal professional person would say) and paying the difference? She sounded condescending and petty as though I was lying about ordering a venti. I said no I didn't mind (though I thought it was petty and their mistake that could have easily been fixed). I go to the register and she tells the cashier to charge me the difference ($1). When asking if I wanted the full amount of mocha in my venti I said yes and she gave me what appeared to be a sarcastic smile. Overall not a pleasant experience specifically because of her demeaning attitude and lack of attention to the customer as opposed to her friend that she's chatting with across the counter while making drinks like their out to lunch or drinks. Will not be back to this location. And my coffee didn't come out great either. read more

This location is always busy in the morning. I come by here sometimes to get cold brew or venismo pods. The employees are always friendly and cheerful. Sometimes I bring my little dude and he does all the ordering. He is usually Batman and I'm Batgirl. He gets a real giggle out of having the employees call out Batman's drink orders. He does this little routine all over the county actually, he's even done it out of the country. Starbucks is consistent in their customer service no matter where you're traveling, which is why my little dude probably enjoys it so much. This location has a good amount of both indoor and outdoor seating. The outlets are often taken, so be forewarned, it's close to a college. If the tables are occupied there is usually a spot at the bar available. There is plenty of parking, it may not be available right there on the side of the store (the 10 min spaces), but there's usually a lot on the side where the fabric store and Denny's are. read more

I refrained from doing this for months. The people that work here are so nice. However, they constantly get my order wrong. I'm not sure why, because I ALWAYS order my drink with non fat milk and ALWAYS order it with whipped cream, it says it ON the side of the cup, yet every single time they do NOT put whipped cream on it!!!!! Today, I saw her pouring the milk into my Caffe Mocha and adding the foam..ugh. I said "that's mine, and its supposed to have whip cream" she said "oh you do want whip cream?" Um, yep, that's why it SAYS it on the side of the cup. If they are going to make YOUR coffee the way they want to then why ask how YOU want it?????? I actually wrote the first review for this but put it under the wrong Starbucks thanks to the Yelp map saying the one next to Fresh and Easy was on the east side of 125 making me think it was this one! I don't patronize Starbucks unless I have to. A person I bought some things from on EBay suggested we get together here for fun instead of her mailing my stuff since she is in Alpine and goes to the Joann's here in this center. I had a fun visit with my new friend and she highly recommended the bagel shop next door, which I'd never been to. It was a very hot day and the iced coffee was good, all 800 grams of sugar of it. I probably won't go back as I'd rather spend my four bucks on something that lasts longer. Parking is great here, by the way. read more

This Starbucks features a cavalcade of colorful characters. I have been here twice in the last few days as I had business in the area. The first time I was here on Monday, a group of older men had pulled a table out to the parking lot to sit in the sun and smoke cigars and drink coffee. They were there again, having pulled a table to a different spot. I only imagine their wives kicked them out and told them to go smoke their stinky cigars someplace else. Baristas are friendly and efficient, the sort who take your order as you stand in line so you get through quicker. They also have a bunch of new chairs with plush seating and more seating in general than most other Starbucks joints. read more

I went in to pick up my Mobil order and decided I would use the restroom. It was atrocious! The floor was dirty along with the tiolet bowl!! This isn't my normal starbucks and I'm going to make sure it stays that way. Nicole (older lady) definitely doesn't know how to listen. When I told her I didn't want to use the money on my account because I was going to pay with cash she told me that it was fine but I needed to scan my phone to get the deal, no problem, phone gets scanned then she asks to scan it again which I allow and takes the money off of my account. When I tried to bring it to her attention she said she can't reverse it. Had she listened the first time this would of been avoided. Friendly service, and a nice inside. There are padlocked key coded bathrooms like we live in LA or something which is annoying, but all the homeless people around here are at fault, not Starbucks. I've had my orders messed up here more often than at other Starbucks, but it's close to the theater and you can take you coffee with you so...proximity wins. They have a decent selection of coffee and cups for sale, and some nice big tables. Window seats are limited and this place gets a ton of foot traffic so if you want to study or something this place is probably too busy for that. Still, it's convenient. read more

Hate to do this since I've been coming to this location for years but my last few visits have changed my mind on it entirely. Whether you're being attacked by drugged up homeless people outside or being ignored at the mobile order pickup counter, this location has gone way downhill. Last time I was there to pick up an order, one of the idiot baristas (short light blue hair) accused me of sending my order to the wrong store simply because she could not interpret my name correctly (I have an unconventional name but it's not that hard if you have more than one brain cell). My order had been waiting on the counter for at least 20 minutes at this point. I would have just looked for it and snatched it if everything had been within reach but it wasn't. She made a way bigger deal about accusing me of doing something wrong than actually trying to do her job. I won't be coming back to this location anytime soon. It's ghetto AF now. read more

I've been coming to this Starbucks for many years. Long gone are the days when they offer you a replacement drink when they get your order wrong or wait 25 minutes for a drink because of the online orders. I came in Friday and ordered my usual drink I've had for over 13 years. A grande soy Carmel macchiato. I left with my drink and became violently sick due to my milk allergy. I came in Sunday and asked for the same drink. This time I mentioned to the barista taking my order about my reaction. There was no one at the store, yet I still waited to get their attention to take my order. All she says was an unapologetic sorry. I sit down and my name is called, and they made it an iced drink in which I did not order. He re-made my order and when I asked if it was soy, he nodded yes. Coming here and ordering a drink feels like I'm at a gas station. $6 drink for a 99 cents service. I must say...not all the staff here treat you this way. I've been served by multiple people here that are true professionals, however, the newer people seems as if they don't belong in the customer service field. My 2 cents and $6. That is all. read more
