When my son was younger anytime we went to Destiny Mall called for a trip to Coldstone. We are fans of all that is Cake Batter whether it is a shake, a cup of ice cream, sundae, and the cake Batter Birthday Cake makes any Birthday special. Went for a shake and a cup of ice cream both were delicious and lived up to all our fanfare. The line was long and did take awhile but think a lot of people had the same thought about getting a treat. The interior hasn't changed much over all these years and really could use some TLC or a face lift. read more

One of the options for the fun pass we purchased with Destiny USA was to pick a "Cold Stone Like It Signature Sundae". When I presented my voucher to the first employee that came to serve me, she wasn't quite sure what to do, but everything was easily sorted once she asked the other employee she was working with. They were overall very polite and friendly with their service. I opted for their APPLE PIE A LA COLD STONE®, which is described as "FRENCH VANILLA ICE CREAM WITH CINNAMON, GRAHAM CRACKER PIE CRUST, APPLE PIE FILLING AND CARAMEL". As you can imagine, this was on the sweet side but tolerable. This was the exact reason why I chose a sundae with fruit rather than cookies which was the bulk of their menu. Their ice cream is indeed very smooth and creamy! I do wish there were more graham crackers though, as my favorite part is the contrast in texture when there is some crunch. I'm actually not sure if she gave me a small (i.e. the "like it" size) as I felt it was more of a medium, and was definitely enough of a treat to share. read more

For the last 6 years, I have been ordering my daughter's birthday cake here and I have never had an issue. On my recent visit, the cake I placed an order for wasn't made. There ice cream is absolutely very creamy, and soft. They mix any toppings you want right into the ice cream. The service is always great. The ambiance is also wonderful. I ordered family packs of ice cream through the online ordering. The package comes with two pints and two sides of toppings, as well as ice cream dishes and spoons. Ordering was easy, and my order was ready well in advance. The ice cream here is good quality and pretty pricey, so admittedly I'd probably frequent a local shop before I came here. However, for my purposes it worked great, and the staff were SO PATIENT and helpful, even helping me adjust my order. Exactly what you would expect from a Cold Stone - gourmet ice cream blends and too many choices! There was only one staff member, but she was extremely helpful and friendly. No complaints about the ice cream at all - delicious as always. I was torn between a 3 and a 4 for this place. While the ice cream is pretty darn tasty, it's not one of the best out there and the price can be quite high. Maybe its the nostalgia factor for me, but I went with the 4. They were one of my first ice cream places I went to when I came to Syracuse after all. They have a wide assortment of different flavors that you can get. I used to always get something with strawberries in it, but it seemed that the strawberries are becoming less and less sweet. So I always go back to some sort of brownie base. Now they have a ton of different pre-made recipes you can select from or you can go all in and just tell them different items to toss in until its just right. Over in the west coast where I'm from, a lot of Cold Stones closed down. I was excited to eat here today and forgot just how much I enjoyed their stuff. Their new flavors right now are lemon cookie and strawberry shortcake. You can opt with one of their flavor creations or create your own. I decided to create my own with a banana ice cream base, fresh bananas, pecans and graham cracker pie crust crumbs. This flavor combo was a 10/10. I would definitely get this again and recommend it for all those banana lovers. I loved it so much. That's right, Brenda goes bananas for banana ice cream. It's rare to find an ice cream spot that has banana ice cream as a base. The base tasted like banana as opposed to just vanilla. I got their smallest size (like it), which is still pretty huge. This place is located on the upper floor by Macy's (above Dunkin Donuts). I am always in awe of how much strength the workers have to put into mixing the ice cream on the cold stone slab. I think it'd be especially hard for someone short like me who couldn't put as much leverage/body weight into the mixing. read more

A large (gotta have it) will run you only a dollar more. My favorite has always been their brownies. Whatever flavor you get, ask for it to be mixed with brownies. It is utterly delicious. With that said, if you come here too often, you will probably get sick of it. Better go local ice cream shops where you can feel comfortable about what kind of ingredients are being used. You can, check the ingredients of the ice cream that this company use on their website --- pretty disgusting stuff like corn syrup, unpronounceables, etc. This place has only a few uncomfortable seats to sit down. The tables they have by the wall are so small we felt overpowered by the crowd in line waiting. We ended up walking out meandering in the mall with the mediocre and oversized ice cream we could never (want to) finish -- how wasteful. Is modesty a problem for America? Young people who work there didn't seem very interested in explaining what they have to offer. Frankly I think they didn't know what. My son (10) liked watching the debris being folded in. So I think, -- if you are willing to endure the outrageous price tag for amazingly mediocre ice cream, your kids may enjoy this. Terrible customer service. Went inside, no one addressed me. It was time to take my order and the MANAGER didn't even ask me how may she help me, she stayed quiet waiting for me to give my order. I told her what I wanted and she had an attitude. I asked her did she have cheesecake pieces and she shook her head "yes", I then asked her did she have waffle cones and instead of her saying no, she pointed to the waffle bowls. I walked over, looked and asked we're there any waffle cones, she shook her head no. I just walked out. I told my husband about it, he got very upset walked back inside the cold stone place and asked for the manager and SHE was the manager. She not ONE time spoke. She had an attitude as if she didn't want to take my order and never said a word. As a manager you should have great customer service.
