I am a proud owner of over 30 ( but who's counting) pairs of Cole Haan shoes. I have always received great service when shopping at any of the stores. On my last visit to the Century City store my cousin and I each bought two pairs of shoes. However, on a recent trip (8/12 around 2pm) to the century city store my daughter and I received no service at all!!! We walked in no one said hello both sales persons looked me right in the eye and said nothing at all!!! No hello no let me know if you would like to see any shoes nothing!!! Like I said I have never received such poor service at this store. I know the two sales people and if I see them in the store I will take my dollars somewhere else. Cole Haan has the worst customer service ever. I bought 2 pairs of shoes online. I didn't notice until much later that the street address for delivery was a range of house numbers on my street. UPS marked it delivered and it was nowhere to be found. Having bought tons of merchandise online since the pandemic and prior, I would never mistakenly enter a range of home addresses as my delivery address. That was an error on Cole Haan's website. UPS should have returned the shoes as undeliverable due to the lack of a specific delivery address. UPS said call the shipper. I did. All the Cole Haan rep on the phone said was call UPS. I said they referred me to you and he said there was nothing he could do. I remarked that was poor customer service and he replied "I understand". I remarked you're not encouraging repeat business and he said "I understand". I hung up. So now I'm out the purchase price of my shoes and am in an endless loop with UPS trying to "locate package". Sorry, Cole Haan, I renouce you! If you looked in my closet, you would recognize that 80% of my shoes are Cole Haan shoes. My older Cole Haan shoes, meaning those more than five years old, were generally well-made and durable. However, the current iteration of Cole Haan shoes I've purchased have been straight trash! The materials must have come from someone's backyard, and the durability is, well, NON-EXISTENT! It seems Cole Haan felt victim to the "let's make a profit at the expense of quality" route and it's an ABYSMAL result! Where they used to have excellent worksmanship and crafting, they now simply look good, but are poorly made with cheap materials. My experience quite honestly could not have been better. I was helped by a young man, Ameer, and he made everything such a breeze. I came in about a month ago looking for a coat for my mother and shoes for my father. Thought it was a long shot getting both in one business but to my surprise this store had what I needed (also with such a great layout and display of items). Ameer, however, stood out because in terms of selection I was totally lost and told him so. He asked me to describe my parents and their style, and even looked at a few photos of them before recommending a couple products. Visited this store twice in a week to return an item I bought online. First time, the associate was generally uninterested and unhelpful. Not terrible but not good. The second visit was not better than the first. I wasn't their priority, and ending up waiting 15 minutes to return an item despite no other customers in the store. They were polite about it in the end, which is why they get two stars. Also the shoes weren't comfortable and overpriced, but that's not the employees' fault. Wish I could give a BIG 0. I like a few of their styles, but it never fails. I've been to a few locations, including this one and ALL the employees everywhere have this haughty attitude. I cannot speak for the store but I can tell you this brand has gone down down down down. Had a pair of boots, which were not worn much but were now an "old" style. I was walking around SF several weeks ago and bottom of shoe just fell off. Thank goodness I was not injured but I contacted the corporate office and they took absolute zero responsibility The resolution was to me a 30% discount on a regular priced item either online or at a store. So, I should spend MORE money to buy a brand that fell apart. When I told him I felt that was not a reasonable resolution they referred me to "cobbler". I told them a cobbler was not necessary because the bottom was glued on and cheaply made. The repair would be at MY expense. For an upscale Company this was a disaster and buyer should beware. These products are now garbage made in China and company is a fraud. Save your money read more

Terrible customer service strikes again (but is rectified at another store)! So, I've been a Cole Haan aficionado for many a year, except during the Nike years when they nearly ruined the brand with terrible quality, designs, and an all-around misunderstanding of why customers liked it. I went to the shop in the Century City mall to buy a gift card for a friend's birthday, and to see if they had a style I'd seen at Nordstrom, Santa Monica. Walking in, there was no one else except one employee, Associate #309562 (don't remember his name). I asked him about the style I was interested in. He never heard of it and had to go on an online search. Could have done that myself at home in Venice, without trekking to the mall-yet another argument in favor of online shopping. I asked if maybe the manager could help. He was the manager. I was wearing Cole Haan loafers and they were slipping off, so I asked whether he could maybe give me something to put inside the shoe. Nope. Asking to try on a shoe I liked, he brought out a box, handed me one shoe, still with paper stuffing in it. Asked for the other shoe. Again, the mate with paper inside. He didn't stick around to see how it fit (remember, no one else was in the store). When he finally reappeared, I said I would take it and also wanted to buy a gift card. I asked whether the shoe I liked was on sale. He said no, full price. The shoe had a sale price label on the sole. I pointed that out and he said he would "give it" to me at that price. Give it to me? That was the price, he wasn't doing me any favor. Moving on to the gift card, I bought one for about $200. As he charged my Amex, he HANDED ME the gift card. So, no box? No envelope? Nothing? When I asked, he rummaged in a drawer full of tape dispensers and pens. Nothing. Just put the gift card in my shoe shopping bag to slip around inside the bag. I spent over $325 in his store. But all was saved when I went down the mall to Nordstrom, where Matthew in the shoe department cut up a pair of insoles for my falling-off shoes, and we had a great talk even though I didn't buy anything. So wish i knew the saleswoman that sold me the grey Cole Haan shoes in the pix on the left back in Oct/Nov 2014 she was the sweetest. She literally took her time to help me find the perfect fit once we had the size the color was not available in my size, she offered to locate them at another store have them shipped to my door at no charge in time for my trip to SF. While sprinting thru Century City I flew by Cole Haan saw the sale sign and remembered the sales girl that helped in I go. Didn't see her, was immediately approached by a man with a very bland and rehearsed welcome/sales line. I noticed the fuchsia shoes pix on the right, walked the rest of the floor all the while I felt eyes on me as if I'd be walking off with the store [mind you, I had several high-end shopping bags already and dressed causal] went back picked up the fuchsia shoes and there he was before I could say or look for someone said hmm size 8 1/2 to me. Excuse no actually 7 1/2 however, I'm aware these run on the smaller size and will need an 8 thank you Guy replies Mmm not sure I have but I'll go look. Comes back hands me the box, another customer walks in and he gave them the same pitch then walks back grabbed the box asks if he could ring me up? Went in today to buy some shoes, around 2 pm. Not from that area so I drove over 20 miles to check out there shoes. I already knew which shoes i wanted. As I checked them out online, but wanted to check the fit, reason why I went to the store. As we are walk in, they great other guest as they walk in, but as soon as I walk in they did not great me. I asked them for a size 12 of a shoe, and the ignored me untill I asked again. The shoe 12 didn't fit so I asked for a 13. She mentioned that there were no ther shoes in 13 . So I looked at another pair and asked for those in 13 but she waited 10 min before bringing them out.. I liked those shoes but they were big for 13, so I asked for those shoes in size 12. She made this rude comment as if I wasn't able to afford the shoes. Being $300. As I heard that comment I felt super offended. So I straight up walked away... You should never judge a book by its cover. I understand I'm not the fanciest person, but never underestimate a customer. I ended up going to the Camper store at the Grove . They treated me with excellent customer service and did not judge me by my looks or my clothes. Ended up buying 3 pairs of shoes at over $250 a pair. Sorry Cole Haan your lost. read more

The best part about getting shoes at Cole Haan is the AWESOME sales staff. Sometimes retail stores have pushy sales reps but I never feel pressured here. I wanted to get a new pair of shoes for my boyfriend for his birthday and he's DEFINITELY going to like what I've got picked out for him with the help of Jordan! How about ZERO STARS?!?! Or negative, sub zero stars?! My husband and I just returned from a relaxing weekend in the desert. We had the pleasure of shopping at the Palm Desert Cole Haan location. (Please see my other review). I found a pair of shoes that were slightly large. Elizabeth, the store manager, offered to order them in a smaller size for delivery to my home (free of charge). I declined because I recalled the Cole Haan store in Century City/LA (close to our home) and thought I would check there for the smaller size (and then exchange them with the larger pair). We drove to the Cole Haan Century City store tonight in hopes of finding the shoes. The first thing I did was ask the salesperson (I later found out his name was Graham) if they had the shoes in stock. He checked and said that he didn't but could order them for me with a $10 shipping fee. I replied that I had just gotten back from the Palm Desert store and the manager offered free shipping. He said that this would be impossible because the shoes have been "sold out for a month" and are only available "back East". He clearly did not want to assist me so I didn't push the issue with him. Instead, I pulled out the enveolope which came with the receipt from Cole Haan Palm Desert which clearly states, "SPECIAL ORDERS: If we don't have your item in-store, we'll special order it and ship it to you at no charge" and showed this to the manager (Rudy). He replied, "This is only for regular-priced items". (Mind you, no where on the envelope does it note that sale items are exempt from this policy). I then stated, "Then why did the manager at Palm Desert offer free shipping (for these sale sandals)"? He then rudely retorted, "Well, you must have been at The Outlet". I clarified that I was at a retail store - the one in Palm Desert, on El Paseo. He did not have a verbal response, just a smirk and ignored me. To make matters even worse, I then tried to exchange a pair of other shoes and couldn't. I bought a black pair of ballet flats at the Cole Haan store in Palm Desert yesterday. I found the same pair in ivory at this store and liked this color more than the black. I requested an exchange and the cashier asked me for 44 cents. She said that I would need to return the black pair and then purchase the ivory ones. I can understand that but when she asked for 44 cents, I couldn't believe my ears. I replied, "Excuse me"? Rudy then interceded (he probably saw the complete shock in my face) and stated, "Well, you paid less tax at the other store". Ummmm... EXCUSE ME? SAY WHAT?! I have been shopping and paying for my own clothes, shoes, groceries, living for years and I have NEVER, EVER heard of having to pay a tax difference for an EVEN EXCHANGE. SAME STYLE, SAME SIZE, JUST DIFFERENT COLOR!!! I have also worked in retail and again, I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS!!! The manager and cashier insisted that I pay 44 cents. I thought this was absolutely ludricous so I asked to speak with Elizabeth (store manager, Palm Desert). To my shock, they allowed me to utilize their phone. Thankfully, I was able to speak with her and explain the situation. She apologized profusely and even spoke with Rudy for me (to no avail). Rudy's reply was, "I can't do anything about the tax". Elizabeth took my information and assured me that she would promptly order my shoes for me - free of shipping charges AND bring this matter to the District Manager. To say the very least, I am appalled with the lack of customer service and frankly, the manager's sheer arrogance at Cole Haan Century City/LA. They all can and should take a lesson from Elizabeth and Palm Desert. Cole Haan Century City/LA has forever lost me as a customer. And now, I hope hundreds of people will also read this review and stay away from this store. A friend once told me never to give my business to stores with bad karma for the items they sell are associated with bad karma as well. You can bet I won't be buying any bad karma from this store ever again! read more

Perhaps the previous reviewer had a bad experience at Cole Haan, but mine could not have been further the opposite - as a matter of fact, I can honestly say that the service provided for Ivan at Cole Haan Century City was the best service I received in a retail store during my whole day of shopping at Century City, Beverly Center, and Rodeo/Robertson/Beverly Dr. The quality of Cole Haan needs no description - the shoes, clothes, gloves, wallets, and belts are amongst the best deals in retail with constuction on par with Ferragamo or Too Boot NY at about half the price. My go-to shoes for both dressing up and wandering the halls of the hospital I purchased by 6th pair of Cole Haans here on 03/23 for nearly 40% off retail. Chatty and helpful despite being busy, Ivan retreived multiple shoes at my request and being new to the city he even offered me thoughts on the best places to live, shop, and hang out. All told I've always had great experiences at Cole Haan stores and this one was no exception - I remain a loyal customer. read more

Cole Haan is maker of fine, upscale leather goods. They have a varied selection of shoes, handbags, wallers, brief bags, belts etc. ranging from classic to some of the latest trends. Their products are of high quality and durability. Customer service here ranges from good, all the way down to iritating/insincere. Consequently I will give this location 3 stars for service and 4.5 stars for the value of their products. I have purchased handbags, wallets, belts and several pairs of shoes. Keep an eye out for sales which have become more frequent with the down turn in the economy. You'll find great deals to the point where you might purchase something you normally wouldnt' be able too. read more

cole haan has the best customer service ever! i bought a pair of Nike Air Sharipova boots last year and they fell a part. Since nike and cole haan had gone separate ways, the boots could not be repaired. the store manager gave me a full store credit and stood behind their product. We live in a time where some higher end labels like kenneth cole, do not care about customers. They don't stand behind their products they take your money and run. Cole haan, is not one of them. They do right by their customers. Especially at the CC mall. I was blown away by the professionalism and courtesy of their staff. i love this place and the shoes and bags are always cute, comfortable and stylish. both conservative and a little edgy. This store only gets stars for its selection and for its location in a nice mall. Customer service, though, is lacking. We had so-so service until I couldn't decide between 2 pairs of sandals. Of course, the salesgirl suggested that I purchase both of them. I decided that I would go home and think about it. After that, the level of service went to a total zero. I didn't get a single word or acknowledgment from that point on, as I put on my shoes in awkward silence. Suddenly, there was no more attempt at conversation, not even a "bye," or "have an nice day." We even had the courtesy to thank her, which perhaps we shouldn't have. News flash Cole Haan employees: when you work in sales, nobody is obligated to buy from you. Called to ask if the store had two styles in stock. It didn't have either. Asked if they could be ordered. Only if I came into the store. I explained that I didn't want to come into the store twice: once to order and once to try on. Was told shoes would be shipped to my home. If I wanted that, I could have ordered them online. Explained I wanted to see the shoe before I ordered it. Was told by "Nieman" that that wasn't possible. Explained that this wasn't good customer service. Nieman stated that "he could only do what he could do". I said that this was not being responsive to the customer. He responded that I was "yelling at him" and that I could speak with the store manager the next day and then hung up on me. Some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. read more

This review is not for the store itself, but for the service it providesin sending Cole Haan footwear for repair. I had a pair of mid-cut boots whose uppers were in great shape, but whose heels, soles, and insoles were well worn. I opted for a heel replacement only, as the price was in line with what I was willing to pay. The store sent my boots to their facility in Texas. A couple of weeks later they were waiting for me on my doorstep (well ahead of the promised date). The uppers had been polished--and not only were the heels replaced, but the soles, insoles, and laces were as well. At no additional charge. The boots look great and I'm now a fan! read more
