I love Steven Madden shoes. My Steven Madden shoe collection includes cute flats, sexy boots, and relatively comfortable stilettos. I usually don't shop at the store unless they are sales or promotions. The shoes are typically sold at retail price, and I have found better deals at Macy's or online sites like Zappos. I was searching for blush colored pumps at least four inches. I was browsing on their website and saw there were some on sale for $49.95 with a regular price of $89.95. Since they were clearance items, they are final sales with no returns or exchanges. So I decided to check if the store reflected the sale prices online. They did. The clearance rack was great that I had the intention of purchasing one pair and ended up with three pairs. I do prefer shopping here on the a weekday because it's less busy. On Saturday, it was super busy that I waited a while to get my size. The staff is unfriendly towards a friend who was in their purchasing a pair boots as a gift for her niece. The staff's appearance- good grief. The majority of that staff should look in the mirror prior leaving to go into work you're representing a retail store of any kind they should not dress as such. Bought a pair of shoes on 9/27 but decided against them and here I am attempting a return at the SF mall. Turns out shoes already have been returned and there is nothing can be done to reverse this. What a sweet surprise! Anyhow the whole thing is very confusing- bc I paid cash I only can get a check in the mail, since they don't offer cash refunds. Ok, fare enough. We tried to call LA store to see what went on and Susan the manager after having me on hold for 26 mins explains that Janice had me return the shoes same day and on file it says that since customer was out of country she did not understand the return policy and could not wait for the check, so they had to make an exclusion and do an instant cash refund. Elaborate and believable. Everything checks except for me sitting here with a pair of unwanted shoes. Wish I was out of the country but I live in SF. However couple of my girlfriends who were present at the moment of this purchase were and we all spoke foreign language- good reason to think we are buying this puppies and never coming back. The malls were hell this weekend. I mean what did I expect, it being Christmas weekend and all. I braved the hordes of hyper children and ruffle-coat wearing fashionistas anyway. When it's cold outside and your feet want a new outfit, it's time to go shopping. Steve Madden was my haven. They were doing a huge sale/promotion and had potential customers spin the deal wheel. I ended up getting 40% off my new boots that already were 50% off to begin with. Leather Doc-Marten looking flat boots. Score. The sales girls were so helpful and friendly even though the store was PACKED. Not to mention the best part: super cute shoes in all kinds of styles and colors. I agree and disagree with Catherine W. on the consistently poor service...in fact...I really don't recall EVER going in here and hearing the words, "Can I help you with something?" Nope, never. The place is always crowded and there's usually a few sales people wandering around but they always come off busy so I just browse and than ASK for assistance if there's something I need. Good thing about this is that if you're JUST looking, no one hassles you! lol Great thing about Steve Madden: inexpensive trendy shoes. If you want to try a trend or an outrageous shoe, SM is fabulous because it won't send you into credit card debt. You know those Turquoise Patent Leather Pumps you want...get them here. lol They happen to have things in a rainbow of colors as well so for last minute matching to a dress...it's glorious! I LOVE STEVE MADDEN SHOES!!! And because there isn't one in Hawaii, where I live, I try to make a stop at every one when I'm on vacation. So while I'm at the Bevery Center Mall, I see this store and decide to RUN, not walk, inside! I've been looking for these pair of shoes for months and they were out of stock in Hawaii for the longest time. Shipping to Hawaii is costly, so I took a chance and looked in the store and low and behold, MY SHOE!! I grabbed it, and the moment I grabbed it, I had this huge smile on my face. One of the sales ladies saw, and smiled and asked if I needed a size. I told her my size and she brought out two shoes. The suede version that I wanted, and a leather version. I initially wanted the suede because it was a bit cheaper, but because it was the display I opted for the leather. The sales woman had told me that there was a $50 price difference because the leather version is limited. I thanked her for letting me know in advance and saw another shoe in the corner of my eye. I had asked for that shoe in my size, and was informed that the display was the last size and she had offered me 10% off, but it would be a final sale. I laughed and said, "That's fine. I live in Hawaii and we don't have this store, so I can't return it" She gave me a sad face and said "That sucks" HAHA. It sure does!! But she was soooo friendly! I wish I grabbed her name, because I'm pretty sure they work on commission, most shoe stores do. But she was really friendly and helped me out a lot! This place is pretty hit or miss with service. My last experience was definitely a miss. The salesgirl seemed annoyed to be helping me, presumably because I asked to try on three pairs of shoes that were in sale. While I was waiting for her to return with my size I heard two salespeople behind the counter talking badly about a customer. Not the best conversation to be within ear shot of your customers. When she returned with my shoes she just plopped them in front of me and didn't bother mentioning that they didn't have the size I asked for. She just walked away and started chatting with her coworker. I think I'll check a dept store next time I need a pair of their shoes. read more

The employees here are just sweethearts! It's really refreshing to find a sweet and caring employee, let alone all the assistants in the whole store. It was really crowded and busy in the store but they made sure to get to every single one of their customers and myself. I felt like I was being spoiled to the point of feeling guilty as hell. The salesclerk even promptly brushed and sprayed my shoes while the line was long and managed to do it all within a minute without a single mistake. I'll be coming back here more often! read more

Rude employees. Unhelpful. They just text on their phone all day and gossip and curse and talk about their sex lives and give angry looks at customers when we ask a question like we're wasting their time. I asked an employee to find me a specific pair of shoes and she said "can't you just find it yourself? I'm busy right now" she was just walking around stocking but the customer comes first. You didn't look busy. Could have taken 2 minutes of your time. Over all, avoid this location. The Beverly Center can do better. They need to hire better staff and fire these employees and coach their employees on how to behave better towards customers. You're lucky I don't file a complaint with your corporate team. read more

My bff picked up a very comfortable but stylish pair of wedge sandals. She had always complained about how uncomfortable all of her other shoes were so she was looking for a new pair that didn't hurt. This review is not about this location but in general their products are poorly made. I ordered Realove in blush in size 5.5 online and I received a scratched pair and the one shoe was size 6. I'm not sure really where the bad reviews come from but I guess it's just bunch of haters who do not appreciate others hard work or may be they were having a bad day. I suggest for these people to go to Steve Madden when they are in a good mood lol. I love this store because the workers including Evelyn the manager are beyond wonderful. They all want you to enjoy your experience choosing the right shoes for you. They were all helpful. The first time i visited this location I was not sure if I should give it a try but once I started picking he shoes, the workers came and asked me nicely and politely to help me. I love their strategy where you do not feel too pressure to buy. I was going to buy one pair of shoe and I ended up buying four. They did everything for me from A to Z. They ordered some of the shoes were not available in the store. Everything was delivered to me beside one pair of shoe. I contacted Evelyn the manager and I thought this will be a mess and they lost it since that was the last piece in size five and they dnt make that style anymore. Evelyn took care of it and apologized even it was not her fault since USPS messed up. She did a great job and I was impressed with her positive attitude and customer service. The store manager sold me a pair of used heels, because it was the last one in my size. Before purchasing I asked her if the same return policy applied if I changed my mind? She said yes, since they were NOT final price. So long as I had my receipt! Two weeks later I went back to return them and was denied my refund. I told the lady at the register to call her store manager and it was the same person who sold me the shoes who showed up and she also denied my return. I was furious because the same person who sold me the shoes denied my refund! Especially being a store manager! & I also made sure to ask her about the return before I bought them and I reminded her of that. She said I had wore them out but they were in the same condition as I had bought them! I didn't get her name and had left my receipt at the counter with her on my way completely forgetting to get it back. I'm not one to make scenes what so ever, but it was shady the shit she pulled! Experienced terrible customer service from associate Priscilla. I ordered shoes online and they were too big so I took them in the very next day to return them. Priscilla claimed I wore the shoes and even went as far as calling the store who shipped the shoes to confirm they didn't send out the shoes in the condition she thought looked worn (which I didn't notice because I tried one of the shoe on and didn't even touch the other pair). She kept implying I wore them even after I showed her I just received these the night before so how would I even have time to wear these??? Are you freaking kidding me??? Get some common sense. I mean, falsely accusing a customer, really? The nerve. I was so heated that I was being questioned and she was so rude. She then tells me she can give me store credit because she would have to damage these out. I obviously wasn't ok with that since none of her ridiculous accusations were true so she then said she would do this return one time. Thanks, but never will I shop or step foot into that horrible store with that kind of horrible customer service and uncomfortable experience. Please train her properly. My fiancé bought me a pair of boots I didn't like and that didn't fit. I tried to return them the following morning and they wouldn't accept the return, claiming I had damaged and worn the boots. I literally tried them on once and that was it. Poor customer service, rude store manager and the last time they get any of my money. read more
