Additionally, the tennis courts are usually pretty busy with players of all ages and talent levels. I've been here probably a dozen or so times and played a handful of pickup basketball games, jogged on the miles of clean a s well kept trails, played games of both singles and doubles tennis, as well as the pool. A few noteworthy points that give this park four stars are the fact this park has working water fountains, the grounds and trails are clean of litter and trash, and the tennis courts are lighted. You should plan ahead if you're planning to swim because the pool is only open between June 1-Aug 11 with afternoon hours only, this pool isn't open in the mornings. Also, ages 12+ costs $2 while 11 and under is $1.

This tennis courts has court lights that keep the courts lit for evening tennis sessions all year long. I love Preston Playhouse - it's a really cool rec center offering pickleball, padel and a bar to relax for work events and family/friend get-togethers. In DFW there are what I call "Pickleball Operations" and "Places That Offer Pickleball." Unfortunately where I am in the game, Preston Placehouse is more of a "Place That Offers Pickleball" - which isn't what I'm looking for but may be great for you. The courts are colorful and (mostly) in great shape and the spacing is pretty good. They have morning ($10) and evening ($15) open plays which isn't the most expensive in town but not the cheapest. The Open Plays are All Levels, so a bit of a gamble in terms of the quality of player you will find. Last night I found some really good ones but there weren't many. When I first went there there were more, but it seems like they may be choosing places like Pickler Universe and The Picklr. Preston Playhouse though is a fun atmosphere and great place to bring friends or your own group but it's not a pickleball community focused on ramping up competition or teaching skills and it doesn't try to be.

The pro shop is well-stocked with everything you might need, and the range balls are always in great condition--fresh and consistent. What I especially appreciate is how well they maintain the grass during the texas summer heat. They clearly put in the effort to keep the hitting areas in good shape, so you get a solid, realistic playing surface every time. Highly recommend if you're looking for a great place to practice. Paul is a fantastic tennis racket stringer. He works by appointment and will arrange for you to…read moredrop and pickup the racket once done. I've never been to his storefront if there is one. Always take it to his residence. I use a hybrid string setup (RPM blast and natural gut) and when I have it done by someone good my strings rarely break but bad stringers I will always get a broken string. Paul's stringing hasn't broken on me until well after the lifespan of the strings has passed (like a year later which is way past when I should have had it restrung with new strings anyway since my setup loses effectiveness naturally after a month or so). Racket always plays great and he is very knowledgeable if you have any questions. So happy he is available to do this. Pricing is reasonable too. 5 stars!
