Enjoyed an association outing at Hackberry Creek in April. Course conditions were just growing in, but still good; probably would be great after the spring rains. Layout was fantastic, no tricky holes and several beautiful vistas. Very nice range with ball crates and alignment rods. Plenty of distance markers in the range field. Management seems to have their act together. Loved that they kept rakes in the sand and not on course in the way of run up shots. Electric carts were nice. Also had a lunch buffet after the outing, which was good. Service seemed on point and caring. read more

I can't speak for the course itself. I had a long layover in Dallas. Showed him, they let me get in the range for free and let me borrow some clubs for free so i really appreciated it. The range was very well kept and so was the putting green. Overall seems like a great place. read more

One of the better country clubs in the area! It doesn't appear to be as outdated and they keep the property and golf course always looking nice and neat. I always look forward to coming to this area to go for a run and see folks out and about, playing tennis or headed for a workout. Apparently they do HH events where they invite non members and etc. I plan on checking it out very soon to see what other amenities they have to offer. The golf course itself is huge and the neighborhoods surrounding it are well maintained as well. I love the layout of this area and often look forward to coming over here to run my "country club loop". read more

As a young executive member with my husband, we don't exactly take advantage of the plethora of family-oriented social opportunities, but the highlights for us are: 1. the golf (my husband) 2. the pool (love it, with minor exceptions) 3. the gym and 4. the restaurant (namely, brunch). The golf course is very well maintained - as a surrounding neighborhood resident and avid runner, I see all the effort in the early morning hours that goes into keeping the course looking its best. Come torrential rain, unexpected 12" of snow, or just the typical 105F heat, they really keep it up well. It's not Pebble Beach, but there's clear effort in maintenance. Note: the course typically is not open Mondays, except holidays. The pool is quite refreshing on the many a hot summers' day. Towel service is a nice bonus, and whether it's a plus or minus in your book, there's a concession stand with food and beverages right on site (read: you cannot BYO-anything). For water fitness enthusiasts, get there early on weekends to snag a spot in the single lap lane. There have been many times that I wish parents would reign in their kiddos to enforce a bit more respect of people wishing to get a few laps in, but it's a family-oriented amenity, so it is what it is. Again, typically not open Mondays, except holidays. The gym is not huge, but it really has a lot of the essentials and doesn't get a whole lot of use, so you can get in a near uninterrupted circuit without the delay of macho man with headphones admiring his biceps of a typical gym atmosphere. There is a personal trainer offering (for added cost) and several group fitness opportunities throughout the year. And... the brunch (Sunday brunch to be more clear). Delicious. Tons of options - lox with all the fixins, omelette station (made-to-order), sausages, pastries (including cupcakes!), oatmeal, waffles, bacon, etc. etc. etc. Mimosas and bloody mary's may not be bottomless or whatnot, but they're quite good. So you may expect all that deliciousness to run you a pretty penny, especially at The Country Club... au contraire! At $14/adult, it's a screaming deal in my opinion. So if you're a member, make a date with the family to hit up the weekend brunch, and if you're not a member, either become one, or make friends with one! read more

I went to the place for a job function. They have this one room that I think is spacious enough for you if you are trying to hold a function like a wedding reception or business meeting. The course is beautiful outside and the service is good in terms of taking care of the clients that come in. Catering was good too. My only complaint is that the air condition was either too cold or too hot. They couldn't seem to keep the temperature right in that room. We ended up having to open the doors since it was an all day meeting at the location. Overall, its a pretty nice location. But having attended many different country clubs, unless you live nearby, I don't think its worth getting a membership. read more

This golf course was in beautiful condition and our pace of play was excellent. We had played here about 30 years ago and it is interesting how much tougher Hackberry is now. (LOL) There was some drainage work being done on hole #1 so we started on hole ten. The greens were uniformly fast and tricky, the tees were smooth just like the fairways. There are numerous creeks and lakes winding through this golf course. Water comes into play on 16 holes and there are bunkers on every hole with some of them deep. The par five hole #3 has a very elevated and narrow green with a deep trap below to catch shots approaching the green into the wind. There are plenty of long carries, narrow fairways, and hidden hazards which would give most golfers indigestion. The pro shop was friendly but we never saw a starter. Hackberry Creek is a fine test of golf and will be back on our bucket list. read more

Very friendly staff! The course was in excellent shape. I'm a 3 handicap and it gave me all that I wanted from the Blue tees with that legendary Texas wind. I told all of my golfing buddies back home that we need to make a trip here to play this one as well as the other Clubcorp courses in the area. read more

I can't speak for the golf, since we don't play. But this is our second year and overall it's a pretty big disappointment in terms of the things we are interested in. 1. Pool is dirty. Even on its opening day this year it was dirty, unvacuumed, and generally nothing felt improved from last year. 2. The pool chairs are worn out and look dirty. They started charging $150 for the covered cabanas on the weekends, which I could live with if the pool was super nice or it came with really good food and service, or privacy curtains, or something, but it doesn't. And they removed the umbrellas on most of the regular tables (the guy laughed and said they were 'broken' when I asked), so basically it's $150 to sit in shade on worn out chairs with dirty cushions, or else zero protection from the sun, since there is no natural shade otherwise. 3. The food/drink service and selections at the pool are sub par. It's of the quality and variety that is fine for a random, rare trip to the pool, but if you use the pool regularly, bring the kids out every week, etc., it quickly becomes very undesirable. 4. The pool facilities overall seem run down and dirty. The restrooms are dirty. The pavement around the main building often seems dirty. I feel grossed out walking around some areas around the pool without shoes on. 5. Everything is closed on Monday. Pool, restaurant, tennis courts, etc. Even the workout center closes at noon on Monday for some reason, even though it's akin to a hotel gym where you just come in and use the equipment after checking in, so I'm not sure why I can't just come in and use it after work on Monday. 6. Tennis courts are nice, so no major complaints there. Hackberry is a nice neighborhood. I feel like Hackberry Creek County Club falls well short of the standards of the neighborhood that it borders. Maybe it's different if you're in to golf, I don't know. read more

The worst place in terms of customer care period. They will court you and answer all your questions when you are thinking about joining, but once you do they won't give you the time of day. They promise you something then walk those perks back. They won't answer phone or email inquiries. Never. This place is stuck in the 80s. The gym has a sign up sheet for check in. The men's locker room has old leak stains on the ceiling and they have no issues giving you a dirty locker. Don't point any of this out to the staff, because they will forever block all future requests and inquiries. The only thing the staff can do great is ignoring the clients. You can get much better service at Equinox or Four Seasons. read more

It was a very nice venue we checked out here for a potential location for a wedding reception. They answered anything that we had asked, and were accommodating if I wanted 1 or 2 bartenders. They also allow outside catering for cultural reasons so I loved that too. I just did not like that sometimes they have member only dinners, so there would be that going on during the reception. I do like that you can get the member fee waived if you have a member who sponsored you. This could potntially be a good spot for a wedding reception, and there are many hotels nearby that your party can stay at. read more

Ugh - we were members for a year and while we enjoyed some aspects, the overwhelming experience was...exhausting. The food is overpriced, so even when you get "50% off" with the One membership, you're still paying tax and gratuity on the whole amount so you're paying a lot for pretty mediocre food. The bill is FREQUENTLY wrong and it takes about 16 emails and 2 phone calls each month to fix that - I'm exaggerating, but only a little. Oddly, when you contact the people that are supposed to help facilitate the membership experience, they don't email back, don't have an out-of-office message up when they're gone for a long period of time and then just flat out don't call you back. The customer service is lacking which is odd in a customer service-oriented place like a country club. We even thought about joining just for the summer for the pool but the overall experience of always having to "stay on top of everyone" for everything was too much. Our family held a wedding anniversary luncheon here and the country club did a fantastic job. Our room was ready and staff that assisted made sure everyone enjoyed themselves. We had my wedding reception here (we had a destination wedding and this was our "hometown" reception) and I definitely have mixed reviews. PROS: beautiful views of the golf course (great for pictures) and a pretty ballroom. Well-priced compared to other venues we looked at. CONS: Working with the coordinator here was great in the planning stages - we were assured everything we asked about would be taken care of. However, follow-through left a lot to be desired. We were urged not to hire a wedding coordinator because the club's coordinator had it all covered. This was a mistake as things were not organized at all. My sister's camera was stolen at the event - which we understand can happen at these types of functions if things are left unattended. However, we saw who stole it and reported that person's description to the country club (as we identified one of their staff members - they were in uniform), but no action was taken. After the event was over, the club also attempted to charge us for items they claimed were taken from the venue. While it's understandable that we'd be charged for any broken items, etc., we saw the items at the end of the night that they claimed had been taken - so not sure where these additional charges came from. The club staff asked us to keep our personal belongings in the locker room. They didn't give us a key to the locker explaining that they'd be around later to open the locker for us. Of course, at the end of the night, the woman who'd given us the locker was long gone and had to be tracked down at midnight on her cell phone to try and explain which random locker she'd put our things in (including my husband's car keys and wallet). This took another 45 minutes at the end of an already long night. The up-lighting was also "included" in the price of the venue (NOTE: they were not actually included, we later found out). It was barely noticeable and definitely not done well. Overall, I was not impressed. read more

I never even knew this club was there until recently. We went to dinner there the other night. They have a nice patio over looking part of the golf course where we had drinks. I was a young executive member here for 2 years. It's not a true "country club" however it's a great value for the money. I mainly used it for golf, playing almost every weekend at a minimum. However I occasionally dined there as well. The staff knew me personally and were attentive. The facilities could use an upgrade, which they just broke ground on so its in the works. The course could use some love too, greens need to be re done. All that said, I really enjoyed my time there. read more

We bought a deal from IDealGolfer for a round of golf at Hackberry Creek. The deal was for "Valid any time Monday (if open) and Tuesday - Thursday". The pro shop refused to honor the coupon for Thursday morning ("That's for members only"). No, it wasn't because they were busy, they just said the coupon was wrong and refused to honor it. How in the world is that ethical or legal? Well, actually I don't think it is either, but I guess my opinion doesn't really count, eh? We'll be asking for a refund from IDealGolfer, but my advice is to not do business with Hackberry, since they seem to be unwilling to honor their commitments. read more

I was a social member for over ten years and only resigned due to an out of state move. During that time I went an average of 1 x a week, sometimes more, occasionally less and I also used it for a small number of business functions. They are very service oriented to members and I loved that. They learn you, your family, your preferences and they cater to those. It is a very family feel place, comfortable. The menu didn't always provide the utmost in variety -- it changed often but still stayed close to a certain formula. The cowboy steak was consistently good as was the Kobe hamburger. I treasure my time as a member and 6 weeks later -- and half the country Away -- miss the club. Wish it all the success in the future. read more

I have really enjoyed playing golf at Hackberry Creek. Great value, nice course (greens are bent grass and often in great shape). I enjoy that atmosphere as there are many young executives and the overall atmosphere of the club is approachable and "non-stuffy" which can be characteristic of a club atmosphere. read more

We celebrated our wedding and reception at Hackberry Creek Country Club with 100 of our friends and family. I am thrilled that we did! Great interior lighting, a high quality staff and customer service, the value added with chairs and tables, and a fantastic menu choices for the reception. The little extras like beautful outdoor wedding and seating, table decor, centerpieces, adding our photobooth, cleanup, open bar, and professionalism was so much more than we expected. Weddings are stressful enough and I always expect there might be something that would be missed. But not here! Our guests let us know it was the best wedding they attended. The food was superb and people continued to rave about it all weekend. My new sister-in-law says she gained ten pounds just from the event but said it was worth it. Dancing the night away and having a wonderful bartender certainly made our night extra special. We had nothing to worry about during the planning and execution phase. The Special Events Planner, Jessica Anderson, was top notch. She was calm and thorough. I think Hackberry Creek Country Club is an ideal place for a wedding venue and is one of the best kept secrets in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
