I'd say this place is for the locals. The joint itself saw better days many, many years ago. It's a wreck inside. Tin roof as a ceiling that's only about 8 feet high? Wow. It's been a very, very long time since I'd been in a restaurant in this poor of a condition. I'm afraid to see what their health report score is. The bathrooms...ugggh. We'll, at least the men's side. Prices are high too!!! 6 bucks for an order of onion rings that when delivered had a number of rings that weren't separated so it was basically a fried ball or clump of onions. 6 dollars for a cheeseburger. It's in tabor and off the beaten path, so yeah its patronized by the locals. Basically, the place needs torn down and simply rebuilt. Wifi? Lol. Yeah right. I will say, the staff was friendly enougj enough, but thats hardly worth overlooking all of Coleman's other issues. read more

The food is always delicious, the service is always quick. The workers are very friendly and nice. Coleman's is one of the last few remaining classic drive-in diners in America. Which is amazing that Tabor City has. The only issue I and most people have is the prices keep going up. Once a burger hits close to $10, people aren't going to buy it over the other cheaper options around. A chain like Five Guys Grill is notorious for having expensive prices for food. When you compare the newest menu from Coleman's to a Five Guys menu, the prices on burgers almost match. $10 for 4 thin chicken tenders is a little crazy too. You start to say the cheeseburgers are good, but are they $10 good? The pricing has been the biggest topic with every local I have spoken too read more

Coleman's is a staple of tabor city and a great place to stop every time. Foods always good and the ice cream is delicious

It's always hot and fresh. I enjoy coming here everytime U come to town. The season fries and chili cheeseburger are my favorite.

Like others have said, both the area around the restaurant and the exterior are very sketchy. But, inside you'll find very nice people, good food, cheap prices, and huge portions. I was greeted at the door with a humorous sign that added "no pants" to the typical "no shoes no shirt no service" requirement, which led me to ask the waitress if there was a story about a pantsless patron, but sadly there wasn't. I got the double cheeseburger and fried pickles. The cheeseburger is huge, and when I asked for extra pickles and mayo, they actually heaped it on, which was a welcome surprise from the extra two pickles you get at a typical fast food place. The fried pickles were cooked just right and were enough to feed three people. I spent less than $10, and for the amount of food I got, anywhere else you'd pay a lot more. It is a bit greasy and is a "I'll probably pay for this later" type of meal. They have Sundrop and Cherry Coke on the fountain, which you can't find everywhere. The decor is a retro 50s vibe, but it could use some updating. It was cluttered a bit, torn vinyl on the seats patched with duct tape, but being here near Thanksgiving, I was charmed by the Christmas decorations they had adorned their hole in the wall with. So give this a try, you'll not regret it. But wear pants. read more

We've always stopped by Colman's when passing through or when we are working in Tabor City, so in the two days working in Tabor we went twice! Once was really to grab a menu and ended up getting BLT's and shakes for breakfast. The lady behind the counter was super sweet and prompt and we were lucky enough to have her for our big order the next day! I always get a double cheese burger but wanted to try the philly so my friend and I shared. Both were good! The philly was loaded wittth onions and peppers and the burger was super juicy! We got an order of almost every side item and all came with sauce and wrapped in paper and NOT in styrofoam. I recommend stopping if you are passing through and looking for old diner style food. read more

I'll be in honest, it does look like kind of a sketchy place, but I can assure you that the food here never disappoints! The restaurant has very reasonably priced food and the vibe inside is actually pretty good despite being in the middle of a country road. I used to go here and get very cheap meals, usually shakes and the sandwiches. We were on our way to Myrtle Beach and we were lucky enough to stop off at this great restaurant. We spent under $20 for a family of four and the food was great. You order at the counter and the server will bring the food to you. I ordered a bacon cheese burger and curly cheese fries. The meat was fresh and hot and the fries were good. My daughters enjoyed their chicken tenders. We definitely stuck out a little bit as out of towners (from New Jersey), the restaurant seemed like a local favorite. Place was great back in the late 1950's and is still the place to go for goood fast food and friendly service at reasonable prices. They still have the old stainless steel stools at the counter and the jukebox in the rear.
