Like many people, I've been lured back into the realm of Pokémon. The full art illustrations are really nice to look at & I've found myself collecting them. On a whim I decided to browse the online inventory & found a card I really liked at a great price, a Flygon with a cool illustration incorporating all of its evolutions. I headed down to Collector Legion, this would be my first time in a card shop and my first time buying a single card. I wasn't sure what to expect, previous experiences at places like GameStop were not so great. That was not the case here, the staff was friendly & knowledgable. I walked in to see if I could find the card I was looking for & when I looked up like I needed help there was someone there to offer it to me. I was probably in & out in under 10 minutes. I wish I gave myself more time to hangout and look around the store, I honestly can't wait to go back. One of the most versatile card shops around that skews mainly to magic but they are flawed in so many levels. I love the shop but their prices are probably 15-20% higher than market price and don't get me started with the checkout process. If you want single cards expect to wait about 30-45 minutes just trying to buy one. 1. You have to use their checkout system which is probably using single core processor because it's slow to load. All the pricing is stale and there's only like 4 POS so if it's busy good luck. 2. Once your order is "in" you have to go to the front and let them know 3. Then someone will take about 20-30 mins to get that card for you depending on the backlog.. 4. Then they will price match if you ask and they oblige. I'm literally looking at the card I want in case and it's take 30 mins to get the card.. The shop is well put together and for the most part the staff is friendly and great, but man they must be understaffed because it should not take this long to get a card that's in the display case. I would spent tons here since they are local but I drive all the way to perfect rare since it's a better experience. I'm done with my rant. I'm open to changing my review in the future read more

Only two stars-- No value. I understand that it's a business but marking everything above market price is just going to discourage people from supporting CL. From singles to seal products. Why the heck is CL selling product at scalper prices? It's just feels like a slap in the face because we all know that CL has no problem getting product from distributors. If the prices were marked up $5-10 that's understandable. Especially to local clients that have been loyal and supported CL since they were a small LCS in Gardena. In return we're matched insufferable prices? At that point, it would make more sense to buy product from an actual LCS because they actually have a difficult time getting product. My friends and I stopped going here because they just seem so greedy now that they're successful. read more

I like that our community has a card shop but these fools are so stingy. Probably 30 bucks more on boxes and cards. Psycho turtle in Pico Rivera are much more cheaper. Also if im spending 100 bucks on a card the least they can do is give me a penny sleeve to protest my card on my way home. Stingy asses. And lastly the cashiers smell like mariguana. Amazing place to go to without feeling like an outcast. My brothers and I wanted to start magic the gathering and we weren't quite sure where to start. We didn't want to ask the staff because we might get judged but it was quite the opposite. Chris, one of the staff there who's super knowledgeable, is super friendly and welcoming. Him and another staff member, didn't quite get his name, were explaining all the different decks and how to start which made us feel more confident in starting magic. Yes some products might be marked up but what my brothers and I appreciated was that the staff did not take advantage of our lack of experience and push us to purchase expensive items yet they would tell us NOT to buy that until we've achieved a certain comfort level of the game. From my very first visit back several months ago, there was a certain staff member that was not welcoming at all. In fact, he didn't seem like he wanted to be there and was quite annoyed on my very first visit to the store but Chris and his coworker made up for it! I haven't been gaming much in the past few years, and it's been a while since I visited Collector Legion (2+ years Pre-covid?). The new space they have is a HUGE upgrade from the old place - a huge gaming area, lots of space for cards/products, really clean and well-maintained. I visited on a Thursday night, and there were plenty of folks there playing a variety of games. All of the folks who work there are really nice and also very passionate about gaming. They spent a lot of time making recommendations to customers and offered to custom-order a lot of items for a few of my friends. The people who I met playing were really friendly and a lot of them seemed like regulars, and the owners are frequently there and are down to play some games with customers. The owners let us stay after closing to jam a few more games in! They have really good prices for the cards, games, and supplies they offered. I was surprised to see a lot of negative reviews about prices, especially since they keep the place so organized for people to come to play (even for free). If you're in the SoCal Area, I highly recommend visiting - it's definitely my favorite game store in the area. read more

Horrible customer service. Went to sell some sealed Pokemon boxes and the employee initially told me after he examined my boxes he would buy my product at a certain price. We agreed on the price and then he went to confirm with the manager who told me they weren't interested anymore but would buy them for less because of a small ding on the box! Great store with plenty to check out but I'd like to state that the army war paints might be old and effective. Bought a few paints and noticed the paper on the bottle has a fading color and the paint has been coming out the bottle a strange texture. Terrible experience. We were told one price on a card holder binder, but when it came time to pay, they refused to honor it. The guy with long hair and a goatee (Clem) was rude and had a bad attitude about it. Absolutely unacceptable. This was my first and definitely my last time coming here. It's taken a lot of breaks to write this all out without getting too emotional. I want to start off by saying I haven't ever had a negative experience at this location with any of its employees. Every single person that is available to help on any given day, does so in the most kind, patient, and knowledgeable way (Vinny being one of my first interactions ever there). I frequent this location with my 5 year old that loves to bond with his parents over tcg. This location is no more than 4 minutes away so there are days where we'll pop in twice a day although if it's not that it's probably at least every other day. I have to give a special shout out to Jay and Tyus specifically bc they are always so kind to my little boy and very helpful to me when I have Yu Gi Oh questions since that's what my son loves and I have very minimal knowledge about it. I collect pokemon cards and as someone that will come by myself sometimes just as my own little mommy mental break from the day, it's awesome being greeted by what feels like friends. Thank you Jay for being so compassionate last week when my husband popped in to get a surprise ETB for my son who was hospitalized for a whole week for a newly diagnosed condition. You have touched my heart in more ways than one and honestly i won't ever forget your kindness in these difficult times. I'll stop here before more emotions keep flooding in. I came in and I think they have a great place, great selection of products on the shelf and the prices were decent. They do have a decent selection of non graded singles as well. If you are in the area its worth a stop, The reason I did a three star is becuase of service and parking. The parking lot is super small for all the businesses that are in that location. I got there and asked for help twice, I was told someone would get to me. 30 Minutes later, I put an order in myself for a single and waited another 20 min at the register, asking if the order was ready once or twice and was told no its not. Knowing it seemed like it was busy not slammed but people were there I gave patience but it seemed like more causual conversations goign on than handling sales. Just be patient I guess, I hung out in the store for almost an hour and left with nothing because I had to be somewhere. I liked the card but the bummer was I couldn't wait any longer to pay for it. read more

Called to ask if they sell Lorcana singles. Employee told me to go on their website then hung up on me. Well, their website is unintuitive and very buggy. Never found the Lorcana singles. Then I come here and also find out they charge scalper prices? Take your Lorcana business elsewhere. They're obviously doing fine without it. read more

I love this place and all the employees! The people complaining about pricing are the ones who are upset they can't buy all the Lorcana stock and resell for a profit leaving collectors with nothing. I purchased Lorcana at a reasonable price just today, whereas other stores are charging way more. In addition, awhile back they were selling Chilling Reign booster boxes for pretty cheap. The One Piece boxes I purchased were way cheaper than other stores I went to as well. This is a great business and you should support this local card shop in every way you can. People had shared with me to support our local LGS but when your local game shop charges single cards, packs that are new products and are charged way above market price (I'm not even talking about MSRP) and still have to pay tax what is the difference with me getting it on my local platform or places like Frank and Son where I can get the item for cheaper with no tax when dealing with cash. I believe in supporting our local business but when our local business I fell is being greedy guess what I also have to be greedy at looking out for my own wallet. They say first impressions are everything, but they're wrong. A friend and I were looking for a draft tournament last weekend and found one at Collector Legion. We signed up online! Super convenient! I noticed the address was different and when we got there I realized they had been moving on my first visit as we were greeted by a huge, well-stocked store packed with people playing games. Everyone working there was pleasant as possible and the experience was good enough that I know I'll be back. They'd be five stars but none of the precons have price tags. This store has a great selection of Warhammer items (which is a bit difficult to find in the area) They also have a large section for cards : Magic, Yugioh, and Pokémon Also, the environment is really laid back. Do not support this company whatever you do. They are absolute scammers with very rude customer service. Considering the new Pokémon Shining Fates drop came out today, they are scalping the prices at a 200%-300% markup on DAY ONE. An ETB goes for $50 MSRP, and they are selling for $140. A tin goes for $30 MSRP and they are selling for $60. This shows just how scummy their morals and business practices are. Do not support this predatory business model - people are buying into it but please vote with your dollars. Not to mention, they are giving preferential treatment to their friends - guy comes in with 10-15 friends he paid off to avoid the "1 per customer" rule. I suppose jokes on him anyway because he paid ridiculous prices, but in summary: do not support these guys and take your business elsewhere. read more

Theyre friendly staff and open for in store gaming again with alot of tables playing a variety of games and alotta players coming in to participate but primarily mtg on friday nights, staff are quick to answer questions and have alot of product available too. I wanted to return half of them or maybe exchange for something else but they asked what my reason for returning them and when I said I wanted to get some other cards instead they decided that wasn't a good reason and refused my return.
