The way I was treated during a recent return was extremely disappointing. I came into the store with my receipt to return an item. I was told by an employee named Panda that the item could not be returned because it had been opened. I understand that businesses have return policies, but as a consumer, how are you supposed to know whether an item works or meets your needs without opening and trying it? What bothered me most was not the policy itself, but the attitude and lack of customer service. Instead of simply explaining, "Unfortunately, once this item is opened, it is considered final sale," I was met with an unnecessarily cold and dismissive attitude. We asked to speak with a manager, and another employee came out with an attitude as well and told us they were not going to process the return. We eventually spoke with the owner, who was understanding and approved the return. When Panda came back to process it, he snatched the receipt out of my hand and completed the return with the same cold attitude. I want to be clear: if the policy had been explained to me politely and respectfully from the beginning, I would have accepted it and walked away. Customers should not have to argue or escalate a situation just to be treated with basic courtesy. Employees represent the business. Regardless of how much a customer spends, everyone deserves to be treated respectfully. Unfortunately, because of this experience and the way we were treated, we will not be returning to this store. Staff is friendly and attentive, store is very well stock with many hobby items, not just Radio Control cars and planes, good selection of model railroad items, some Lego and puzzles. Prices were reasonable. Good shop to visit for your hobby needs. read more

I have been going to PCH Hobbies for over a year and have likely spent $20,000 to $30,000 in that time. Unfortunately I had a bad convo with one of the Managers (Josh) and probably won't be back for a while. He proceeded to tell me that the employees spend $40,000 to $50,000 in their shop and other customers spent $100,000 so my money isn't important to them. This isn't the first incident I've had but it will be the last for a while. I understand that not every employee will be completely knowledgeable on every product in the store. Your One Stop Shop for all your Hobbies! Went in for some added upgrades to my ARRMA BIG ROCK 6S and received great service from each individual who also greeted me on arrival. That type of attentiveness already had me sold. Everyone is knowledgeable throughout the store and especially in there given field. Theo was awesome, took care of my needs and I was out in about an hour. JOSH the RC specialist has a world of experience and help me get a lot of questions answered. Googled if there were any hobby stores near us and we came across Pacific Coast Hobbies. Called before heading that way, which was helpful. Upon arrival we're greeted right away. Hubby needed help with his RC Truck & Anthony knew just what we needed and helped us on the spot. As all adult hobbies go, they can get pretty expensive but luckily the part that we needed was on sale & After about 2 years of none use it's finally working. Thank You Anthony for helping us. I came in on Christmas eve for the older model Green color Red Cat lowrider RC for my son and saw the price of $599, it seemed a bit steep so I came back after checking around prices at other stores and found the same exact car for $429. So I went back into Pacific Coast Hobbies on the 26th and ask if they price match. He asked some lady behind a second counter connected to the store and she Tried to charge me over $700 for a old model of green RedCat Lowrider, I showed them it was an older model and it was $599 (NOT ON SALE) a day before and I showed them Horizon hobbies has the same car for $429 ,almost a $300 difference. There was some lady that look like she knew nothing about RC cars trying to dictate prices and tried to justify the $300 mark up by saying "I think the Horizon hobby shop has a computer error" and she tried to juice the sale by saying "they don't make that color anymore". I said sarcastically "maybe they will make new models in green" and she reluctantly said "yes, probably" LMAO I laughed my ass off in the car, she thought Red Cat RC doesn't know how to use green paint anymore LOL So I left and ordered the car from Horizon Hobby and saved over $300!!! Do yourself and your wallet a favor and shop somewhere else. You will be glad you did! I know I am! Look below, they did not know I had taken pictures of the box and it's price on Christmas eve. I have added pictures so you can see they very sneaky changed the price to fool customers so they would be confused on older and newer models and cheat you by selling you the older model instead of the newer one! Pacific Coast Hobby should stick to coins and baseball cards....even then I would shop around, these folks will rip you off at the first chance they get. Would like to let all hobbyists about a great place for your hobby needs. I took my wife's father's wooden train set that he hand built 70 or so years ago that was missing couplings between the train cars. Sean was extremely helpful as I explained what I needed. After some suggestions I asked him if the store was able to make the parts for me. Sean referred me to Josh who said that it would not be a problem. A very reasonable price was agreed on and the work was finished by the next day. My wife and I could not be happier with the outcome and the preservation of a family heirloom. Great service, Suggestions, Price and Follow up. I will recommend Pacific Coast Hobbies to my friends and after you try them, I am sure that you will do the same. read more

I am giving this rating a 1. Would like to start off by saying thank you to Victor the only knowledgeable person at pacific coast hobby. I bought an RC Vehicle for a christmas gift for someone. 1st thing wrong with it was a defected battery. I drove 11miles 1 way to get there to see what the problem was. The first employee there was not very knowledgeable when I approached him and explained to him what was happening when trying to charge the battery which was unknown at this point of time that it was defected. I thought it was the charger that was defected but ended up being the battery. The employee did a check on the charger and said it was good. Then checked the battery an said it was defected which was supposed to be new being this was going to be the 1st time using the RC. So I drove home and attempted to charge the new battery with the charger. It did not work, so I called and explained to the guy who answered name unknown what was going on and he talked in circles not answering my question. I asked to speak to victor the one who helped me the first time, because he was very knowledgeable and he said " he is just going to tell you the same thing.I just told you " then put me on hold without even saying anything further. I was on hold for 17mins before anyone picked up the phone and was told no one said anything about me being on hold. So I ended up having to drive back to the business another 11 miles to talk to Victor which he stated that the way the battery was being charged was not on the right cord and charging device so I was going to buy what he recommende. I asked to speak to the manager Shawn to let him know what was happening with my phone call the rude employee who answered and the defected battery when first bought, but he did not seem to care at all. I had asked about getting somewhat of a discount for having to drive 44miles total because of listening to an unknowledgeable employee he offered a $2.30 discount for my troubles, keep in mind I had just driven a total of 44miles because of an employee, who is not very knowledgeable the first time there. He still seemed uncaring, and did not even make eye contact as I was talking to him. It's like it went in one ear and out the other. I will not be returning back to this store because of the lack of consideration for the customers and their concerns and as far as some of the employees go there needs to be more training for them to learn how to be considerate to the people who come in there and spend hundreds of dollars on their merchandise. read more

All three monster trucks broke and i paid this place $350 for repairs and he had my trucks for a month and a half and all three broke in the first 20 min of use. I told him to make my trucks as close to bulletproof as possible... i took the trucks to a new hobby shop and they said he didn't replace any of the stuff he said he replaced (I asked for all aluminum parts so they'd stop breaking) and the screws were falling out so the parts that weren't even replaced were falling off (he didn't loctite them) so now I have to pay for all the upgrades again. . . 5 stars for the team here at Pacific Coast Hobbies. Came by earlier in the week and spoke to Panda about me wanting to kickstart a new hobby in RC Cars. He was very informative and showed me their wide variety of cars and kits they carry. He was very transparent with pricing and even suggested I shop around to see what I would like before committing to buying something, to ensure that I make an informed decision considering the hobby is not cheap. I feel like that type of customer service is top tier and not a lot of places do that anymore. Sure enough, I shopped around, went to different hobby shops and they just did not compare to Pacific Coast Hobbies. After a few days, I returned to make my first purchase and needless to say, I'll be returning back for all my RC and hobby needs. Last night I was greeted by every single staff member, but Victor was extremely helpful and got me dialed in with all of the things I need to get my car rolling. He even helped me set the car up. This is a update review and response to the owner I believe or perhaps it was a patron who recently posted their thoughts in regards to my initial remarks from well over a year ago. How can another person tell you you are wrong about how you feel? You are not in my body or in my thoughts and you certainly were not there to observe my personal experience . My post was well over a year ago, so it seems to me that this person is still quite desperate for some form of attention. As stated, I was clearly disappointed with their personal service and even started shopping at a different hobby store which offers great prices and a friendly welcoming. I also stated that others should shop elsewhere have this other location if they wanted a better experience. Who needs to be treated so rudely as a customer, certainly not myself or any others. So I happily took my business elsewhere. In short, their reply was, "I think you should take your business elsewhere"... lmfao, duh, that is exactly what I've been doing this whole time. You're much too late in your attempt to suggesting I do just that. Came here to find out why my blackjack pro boat was not working properly. Three very nice employees were able to assist me, repair the damaged battery Sauter on a new connection for the new battery and test out the boat to make sure it was all functioning. They were excellent with customer service, with figuring out my problem and solving the issue as well as going above and beyond to make sure I understood how to use it properly. World of RC! RC cars, helicopters, drones, and much more. There is so much to see and so much to choose from. There are products already made and then there are others that you can customize. Honestly, it's crazy how we found this hidden gem because it doesn't really stand out. I love the fact that when you walk in you get greeted and are able to get help right away! There is always someone available and knowledgable about all. There are so many things and its all fun to look at. This has become my husband's favorite store. I blame this store for my husband's endless RC talks - videos, comparisons, wants, and whatever else. Hahaha. But definitely fun to immerse yourself into this world. They sucked once that got my money. I bought a plane, a helicopter an extra battery that the salesman chose as being the correct size. No return as I didn't try to install prior to charging and never used. Way to lose business over $20. RC Rage is great. They sent me an entirely new chopper kit as they agreed it should've lasted more than one day. No support from these PCH clowns. I have been to a lot of hobbie store around california. If your into rc I would drive here over ALL other hobbie stores. The staff is amazing and honest saves me hundreds. I went to another hobbie shop in orange was quoted over 300$ of repairs. Took my car here the staff moved one part and boom back in business. So i wasnt planning on writting this review but after calling to see if they cant solve the issue i had to write it. I bought a quadcopter from them last night and the moment i tried flying it 2 of the propellers kept on flying off and causing it to crash, no damage to quad but i tried to see if they can either fix it or replace it with the same one and told me i was out of luck. I was told to simply put glue on the propellers to keep them from flying off the shaft. I bought from here before and was okayy with their service however from now on i wont be buying from here. Store customer service sucks. They literally ignore you unless you are walking in there with the intent of buying a rc car. I asked for help/parts and they don't even bother to check inventory or nothing. They look at you as if you have no idea what you are talking about. They also keep on eye on you as if you were to steal. You are better off buying online Response: I have an erevo 2.0 and you guys don't have crap in your inventory. I also have a rustler 4x4 and no parts either? Also I stood there in-front of 3 employees, none helped. But as soon as other customers arrived asking for rcs you guys all tried to sell. Yet you guys go through isle staring at people making customers feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Your response proves my point.
