There are also a number of other mom-and-pop eateries, which I've noticed since the partial reopening after the pandemic shutdown, are pretty popular. Also somewhere sorta hidden in the back are a few more vendors including a boba tea spot and behind Ross is a Holiday Inn. There's a UPS as well as a Citibank and other random places one might need on some casual day. It would be a one-stop shop kinda area if it had a grocery store, but you know... not complaining. My daughter and I went to San Francisco, which of course meant we had to visit Pier 39! It's one of…read morethe most iconic places in the city, and it was definitely worth stopping by. We started our visit with a small boat ride that took us underneath the Golden Gate Bridge and around Alcatraz. After the boat ride, we went back to Pier 39 and spent some time walking around and taking everything in. There are tons of places to eat and plenty of souvenir shops, so there's something for just about everyone. I especially liked that there were little designated spots that said to stop and take a photo. It made it easy to capture some great pictures and remember exactly where we were. Of course, the absolute highlight for us was the sea lions! We could have watched them forever. Most of them were completely content to lay around and sleep, but there were a few especially playful ones that kept trying to push each other off the docks. It was hilarious and surprisingly entertaining to watch! If you're visiting, I definitely recommend going up to the second level to watch the sea lions. It was much less crowded up there, and we had a better view without having to fight through a huge crowd of people. We also looked for the famous musical stairs. I had seen videos of them online and expected them to be a bigger experience than they actually were. In person, they were honestly underwhelming. We walked past them two or three times before we even realized exactly what we were looking at!

But there are other stores here along with restaurants and coffee shops. Seems like this is more of a place to hang out at to me. They had live music the time I was here. I got lucky and found some street parking, but make sure you feed that meter, the Berkeley meter patrol doesn't play. They are waiting for that meter to expire and they circle this area a lot!!

It's not a big street and there's a limited number of shops, but it's nice to take a quick stroll down. I'll be honest, none of the shops here are really from brands or stores I would normally shop at (lol rich people stores), so we really didn't stop by a lot of them and most of them were closing for the evening anyways (I have learned that lots of things in the Bay Area close quite early).
