We went 2 weeks ago and they had great food and new items. The plants were cheaper than buying at a store and so far our flowers, tomato and pepper plants are doing great! Not a lot of vintage stuff but a lot of cool items. The food is really where it is at! We did have to pay to park, but it was only like $3. This market had better food and new items than concord. Concord has more vintage stuff and not good food like here. Definitely bring a cart to push and bags to put stuff in. There is also a beautiful nursery close that is great for kids! read more

I wasn't expecting much and you shouldn't either. We just wanted to check it to see what it's like. We went on a Sunday, so we paid the $1.00 entrance fee and was given a ticket which wasn't explained to us what it was for... Maybe a raffle like a previous Yelper said.. *shrugs* We got there at 11am, the lot was pretty big but there was not a lot of shoppers. Maybe it was too early but I didn't see anything really worth buying. Most of the stuff sold there are old knick knacks. Saw some bunnies we wanted to purchase but the seller wouldn't even bargain. They were $12.00/each and we asked for $20 for two and he wouldn't even budge. He didn't even seem interested in selling them to us, so we left. Lots of Hispanics here. We were probably the only two Asians there, aside from one Asian jewelery/masseuse vendor. It seemed out of place. We bought some DVD's. The guy pointed to us which ones were DVD quality and which ones were CAM. So we bought some "DVD quality" and when we tested it at home, they were not. So beware. Although he said we can return them as he is there every Saturday and Sunday, but I don't think it's worth the trip back. We got em for 5 for $20. Lesson learned. read more

I've been to this flea market twice and both were horrible to say the least. I kept getting stared at by the vendors and the customers and whispers. It was like I didn't belong there because I'm Caucasian. read more

Buyer beware, people will try to screw your over and take your money. I overheard a seller state that his stuff was all stolen. I asked him for the price of a tool set and he priced it over $20 from the Home Depot price (checked online). There is not a lot of variety. Everything seemed overpriced. Food was decent. The entrance to this place was piled with spoiled food and thrash. Not worth your time or money. read more

Great flea market! I just found out about it and I'm so glad I did. Everything is super cheap and it's a good place to spend a few hours at as you can also find places you can snack at and plenty of things to look at. The best day to go is on Sunday as that's the day all stands are set up. Saturday is a bit dead. Parking is also right in front of the entrance. Also, it's very close to the 80 and 580. A trip to this year-old flea market is like going to a Mexican street market ... except you don't need to buy a passport, get frisked by security and hop on a plane to get there. It is filled with music ... anything from Mexican rap to plaintive love songs. Get your palm read. Get a massage, Buy anything your heart desires ... colorful live birds (parrots, parakeets & cockatoos, love birds), fresh produce, tires, clothing, lingerie (bras $2), toys, state-of-the art tamale pots, arts, crafts, automobiles, power tools, home and audio electronics ... new or used ... the list goes on. Rest on shaded picnic tables at the back for a little lunch. There's Don Pandos churros - long hot churros rolled in cinnamon and sugar ($1.50) Taqueria Al Campo is a taco truck that also sells fish tacos in addition to carne asada, pollo, tripas, cabeza, al pastor and ground beef. Cafe Allegra sells meat on a stick, spaghetti, pozole, birria and menudo. The Mexican / Italian theme extends to the tortas ... res (beef), pollo (chicken) or chorizo Italano (Italian Sausage) Two stands sell fresh fruit drinks - raspados (Mexican snow cones), aqua fresas, juice and smoothies. One stand even has whole coconuts. The dried fruit and nut stand also sells potato chips, duritos and churritos. They provide hot sauce and lemon juice to sprinkle on the snacks. The chinacos (corn curritos con chile) are highly, highly recommended. Think Mexican cheetos ... without the preservatives and so, so much better. They have a strong chile / lime coating and the only other ingredients are corn, salt and oil. For the braver the stand has jars of pickled pig parts which are put in a plastic baggie and then dressed with lemon juice and hot sauce. Should your snacking needs hit you in another part of the rather large flea market there is a girl with a paleta cart who moves through the flea market, the slivery bells announcing that frozen ice cream treats are near by There are about 100 vendors, with additional stands for people selling their household goods. Admission is free on Saturday. On Sunday, kids and seniors (65) are free and for all others the $1 fee is a well-worth it admission to this slice of Mexico. Located just off 580 on the Richmond Parkway in a location even God would abandon. It is next to an auto parts lot with a fence of old truck trailers and cars. In the not to far distance are the Richmond refineries. It is just a lot of land where no one would want to build. It is actually nice ... lots of room with palm trees and olive trees dotting the flea market. In the distance is a good view of Mt. Tam and the hills of Marin ... paradise waiting. Well, summer is here, and the Richmond Flea Market has expanded their space at the back. Good thing, because the number of food stalls has increased quite a bit. Really, you gotta go there to eat! It's gotten so that I eat breakfast/lunch there most Sundays. I'm on a quest to try all the food stands, but that's hard because one stop fills me up, and I keep going back to favorites. Go there! This flea market is like a mini-San Jose Flea Market as far as being Hispanic. Come hungry, because there are so many food vendors.

I visited on Sunday and usually have a great time eating at my favorite locations. The Crepes vendor was not there and so we were pretty disappointed. The food was still great although it was a very hot day. read more
