The three places I frequent in this strip is Ross, Big Lots (which was a Lucky Grocery Store…read morebefore) and Goodwill. I have made a stop at Starbucks, Jamba Juice, Taco Bell and Jack in the Box. There are also a number of other mom-and-pop eateries, which I've noticed since the partial reopening after the pandemic shutdown, are pretty popular. Also somewhere sorta hidden in the back are a few more vendors including a boba tea spot and behind Ross is a Holiday Inn. There's a UPS as well as a Citibank and other random places one might need on some casual day. It would be a one-stop shop kinda area if it had a grocery store, but you know... not complaining. Plenty of parking spots regardless which business you need to go to. [FYI: If it hasn't been updated yet, the correct address is 300 San Pablo Towne Center, San Pablo CA 94806. Just in case someone needs it.] I usually knock a couple things off my to-buy list whenever I'm around these quarters, so it can get convenient. I'm glad they're here.

We started our visit with a small boat ride that took us underneath the Golden Gate Bridge and around Alcatraz. After the boat ride, we went back to Pier 39 and spent some time walking around and taking everything in. There are tons of places to eat and plenty of souvenir shops, so there's something for just about everyone. I especially liked that there were little designated spots that said to stop and take a photo. It made it easy to capture some great pictures and remember exactly where we were. Of course, the absolute highlight for us was the sea lions! We could have watched them forever. Most of them were completely content to lay around and sleep, but there were a few especially playful ones that kept trying to push each other off the docks. It was hilarious and surprisingly entertaining to watch! If you're visiting, I definitely recommend going up to the second level to watch the sea lions. It was much less crowded up there, and we had a better view without having to fight through a huge crowd of people. We also looked for the famous musical stairs. I had seen videos of them online and expected them to be a bigger experience than they actually were. In person, they were honestly underwhelming. We walked past them two or three times before we even realized exactly what we were looking at!

While I was there, two security guards in a cart passed this guy FOUR TIMES. They looked at him, he looked at them. When the drunk guy saw me looking at him, he threw his bottle of Dewar's against the car in front of him and came right at me. Luckily, he just screamed at me and went over by the McDonald's. Security came around for a fifth time, and I got out of the car, flagged them down and asked them why they hadn't done anything about the guy. They both said they never saw him. This is total bullshit. Raley's lost a customer, and the vet lost a customer. Bite me, lying security cowards.
