College Delly / Williamsburg: My check for food that lasted me 3 meals.
    Kimberly-Gretchen B.

College Delly has been there seemingly forever. I've lived in the 'hood for over 33 years, and I don't recall it not being there. Yesterday was my second visit. Sitting at the bar, I ordered to go: * Steak and Cheese sub (Onions, Lettuce, Tomato, Mayo, Pickle and Provolone), $10.49 * Onion Rings, $5.49 * Large Greek Salad (Iceberg Lettuce, Tomato, Onions, Green Peppers, Cucumbers, Kalamata Olives (with pits), Pepperoncini, Dolmades, Feta Cheese, Spanakopita and our Greek dressing), $10.99 Twenty minutes later I was headed home, and 35 minutes after that I was snarfing down the Onion Rings. Wonderful Onion Rings, 9 ounces worth; plump, crisp, and flavorful. Worthy of a repeat. Next was the Steak & Cheese Sub. It only came in one size, but anywhere else, it would be considered a large Sub. Chopped Beef, Tomato, Onions, Dill Slices. I ate half and put away half for this morning. The half that I ate yesterday was wondefrul, and I believe I taste a hint of Mustard. For the half that I ate this morning, it was just as wonderful. I detected no Mustard taste, so I don't know. Either way, it was a very good Sub. Later in the morning I devoured the large Greek Salad. That is the most diverse GS I've ever eaten. It had all the usual ingredients, plus a few pieces of Spanakopita and one Dolmade. For my taste, Spana and Dolma don't belong in a Salad, so I ate them separately and enjoyed every bite. Many more menu items that I'd like to try, so I'll be back. College Delly is easy to find. Parking was easy in the dedicated lot, although it is a small lot and I think I just got lucky. The store was clean, my server was cheerful and friendly. That's the way to build return customers. :)

The Coronas they were "out of"

Their staff is incredibly rude and their food is mediocre at best, but they have daily drink deals, so we keep coming back for the cheap beer. Our experience this week may have changed things, however, when we were overtly lied to and treated like a bunch of idiots. It was Thursday night--dollar Coronas--and admittedly busier than it's been lately, because it was the first week the undergrads were back. We had our first round and went to the bar for more, and we were told they were out. Fine. No big deal. That happens almost every time. Except that was a lie. We could clearly see more Coronas--at least three rows of them--in the fridge right in front of where we were standing (see photo). We thought they may have made a mistake and not realized they had more, so we pointed them out, and were told "those aren't Coronas." Uh, what? Yes, they are. Those are very obviously Coronas, and you're not out of them. Then we were told that they can't sell us those because they need to save them for the rest of the weekend. So, if that's the case, then... maybe don't store them within direct view of the customers? If that's the case, they should have at least given US some as a "one time thing" for noticing, and then put them away. Lying to us TWICE--once by telling us you're out, once by claiming what are clearly Coronas aren't Coronas, before finally coming around and admitting you have more that aren't for sale--is unacceptable. My friend ended up getting a different beer, and I just tabbed out. As my friend walked away, the bartender rolled her eyes and shook her head at him. Later, we saw someone else get a Corona. Maybe you can get away with treating freshly-of-age undergrads that have, like, two other bar options with this kind of condescension, but get your act together and realize that doesn't make up the entirety of your clientele.

What an amazing find near colonial Williamsburg. I came with a party of four and was sat out back where it is breezy and fresh. The server, Lukas, was very kind and helpful. He even spoke Spanish to my grandparents. We ordered the fish and chips and the Greek salad. The portions are HUGE. There are enough fries in the fish and chips for two people. None of us finished which is a first for us. The Greek salad was also massive. Definitely for two people or to be shared as a family. The fish was piping hot and crispy, not fishy at all and no bones. Very clean. The salad had huge chunks of veggies and the dressing was fantastic. Overall very impressed with the food and service.

Outside patio bar. Most all high ball liquor is here. I had the Knobs creek

We had some saganaki as an appetizer, and it was PERFECT! I highly recommend it for anyone trying this place out! For entrees, I got the Dolmades, and Dad got the Pasta Kotopuolo. My domades blew me away, and Dad got his first taste of Greek food in a few good years and he said he loved it! I got a few bites of his too, and I swear I died and went to heaven, it was too good! We also got some Greek lemon potatoes, and any chance to have potatoes is a good day! Pretty good portion sizes with everything, too! We also got my little cousin a gyro to go, and it DID NOT disappoint! The place was very fancy-looking, and had Greek music playing throughout the restaurant, so it really felt very cool and interesting! We met the owner(?), and she was very kind, and assured me about my nut allergy right off the bat Our server, kim, was very attentive, and made sure everything was absolutely 100% perfect before anything If I'm ever in Williamsburg again, im stopping by! 10/10

We ordered scordalia (Greek penicillin) as our appetizer and it came with Pita. It was a large portion and had good flavors of garlic and lemon. One of the specials of the day was the boneless marinated leg of lamb ( Arniso Boutaki Me Meli). My wife and I both ordered it and boy were we disappointed. It came with seasonal vegetables and lemon potatoes. What we got was tough grey lamb with a sauce that looked reminiscent of Salisbury steak. It didn't have much flavor and it was NOT tender. I cook lamb frequently and this was horrible. I could guarantee it was most likely microwaved and not braised in a rich sauce like it should be. We came after a long day exploring Williamsburg and we were so so hungry. The only real edible part was the vegetables. Also I wish they would give you more than 3 potato wedges. The potato could also use more of a lemon flavor it was hardly noticeable. The only reason we didn't give it 1 star was because our waiter gave us 10% off the entire bill because we complained about the dish.

Tyropita, chicken skewer platter, gyro platter, and a dessert. Got a call a few minutes later that they were out of the dessert and a man, probably the owner, gave us other options. He also made sure we knew it would be an hour. At 9:55 my husband went out to wait. Then I got nervous and started looking at reviews. By 10:10 I was a little more nervous and I was still waiting for him to come back in. Finally, about 10:15 he walked in with the food. Turns out the food was there right on time, but the delivery guy from whatever third party, with his wife in the car, gave my husband a long sob story about being homeless and how he would never be able to stay in such a nice place. Sorry buddy, we've struggled too and we get it but... not cool. So the food was AMAZING! It was still pretty hot. My husband loved the gyro platter except I forgot to add feta. I have found that a lot of places don't include feta on their gyros anymore without an extra charge. Sign of the times, I suppose. My chicken skewers were delicious. I love lemon and real Greek food, when done right, is full of lemon flavor. The chicken had a wonderful lemony tang... and the roasted potatoes were just like the Greek potatoes I make at home with lemon, garlic, chicken broth and olive oil and they roast until they're falling apart. I've only ever found them at one other restaurant. I am not Greek nor have I been to Greece, but I am a foodie and somewhat of a chef and this was the best Greek I have had. The tyropita were crispy and the seasoning in the cheese was excellent. The tatziki sauce was fresh and flavorful, lots of garlic and dill, not just cucumber and yogurt. I honestly wish I could order from there again tonight, with a different delivery driver. Too bad we're already home.

Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and authentic, and you can watch it being prepared in the open kitchen. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meal, and there were no complaints about the food at all. What made the experience a little strange was the service. During our visit, the owner was noticeably short with the one and only server and spoke to her in a way that felt belittling, especially in front of customers. It was uncomfortable to watch. At the same time, the waitress asked us to leave her tip in cash or through Cash App before we had even received our food. That felt a little unusual and off-putting, as though we were being steered toward a specific way of tipping before any service had really happened. She had also mentioned that a birthday treat was coming out, but after we waited for a bit, she came back and told us the owner was upset with her and wasn't sending it out after all. That was odd and left us a little confused. Overall, it was a weird experience from a service standpoint, but the food was genuinely excellent. If you're going for authentic gyros and Mediterranean food, it's worth a visit. Just be prepared that the atmosphere may be a little unpredictable.

The menu is large and I appreciated the Mediterranean-lean as that's my favorite. I went with the Greek Chopped Salad Special which has chicken breast. When it came out - it was one of the largest salads I've ever seen for $18! Well worth the price, probably could've fed three people. Loaded with delicious, moist seasoned chicken breast, tomatoes, cucumber, onion, peppers, and lots of feta cheese. It was SO good. I ate and ate and ate and still had at least half left. My husband went with the Chicken Souvlaki platter and it was another wonderful serving. Came with hot and fresh fries. Soooo good.
