I'm a bit on the fence about this restaurant. I've only ordered here once for spaghetti and meatballs because I had hankering for it. I ordered it for takeaway and picked it up on my way to work. It took a minute to have my food ready, but they seemed quite busy so that might be why. They had a lot of people coming in and out for dine in. The lady at the hostess podium was really friendly, though. I ordered baked spaghetti with meatballs. The portion is generous for a lunch. It tasted okay, very generic taste. Decided to give this place a second try, and I'm still on the fence about it. The gyros are still delicious. The moussaka is okay, the green beans are... something. I wish it had more description other than just "Yahni" Green Beans. We were not a fan. Apparently it means seasonings, tomatoes and onions. Love green beans normally, but definitely would have opted out of these had I known what they were. We also ordered Saganaki, thinking it would be like cheese dip. Can't really fault something for not being my personal taste, but it was AWFUL. It is what was advertised, oven baked cheese or something to that effect, but it smelled awful, tasted worse, and cost about as much as my gyro. I didn't realize that oven baked Asiago cheese is apparently waaaaaaaaaaay more pungent than the stuff you buy in the store or that they mix together at pizza places. It was so greasy and oily and smelled terrible. Again, no stars deducted, just a heads up. The service was hit or miss. We were "greeted" with a "sit wherever you want except __________" but she never turned to look at us, so we don't actually know what she said... Presumably, we were fine where we were since they never said anything. They were very "jump in and help when you can" type of service people, which I'm of two minds about, because the service seems really disjointed. You never see the same person twice in a row, one person brings my drink refill, a different person brings my brothers, first person brings the appetizer, a different person takes it away... Makes it awkward to tip, I feel. I hope they pool tips. I do REALLY appreciate though that they always send a "free kids meal" coupon home with my kids when they do well on their report cards, so that definitely earns them so goodwill in my book. When trying to find a place to dine while visiting the state, we came across Bell Greek. Bell Greek is as the other reviews state, solid Greek food! We started out meal with the Greek Fries platter. How does it compare to other Greek places I've been? Slaughters them. The fries are amazing, topped with tomatoes, feta and tzatziki, these fries are a Mediterranean masterpiece! Now we get to the gyro platter. Also delicious. The lamb was very tender and juicy, the rice was also good. The pita bread was warm and fluffy but the beans for me is where we fall out a bit. They weren't bad but I didn't like them. Everyone has their taste but to me, the beans just weren't a winning side. As for the restaurant as a whole, the staff was very kind and polite. The ambience though is strange as if it doesn't know what it wants to be. There are diner style table cloths with Greek paintings and dangling lights in the windows. Service was great, the place is clean and comfy, the menu is loaded with good eats too! Our server promptly came to the table after we sat down. Started with their tzatziki appetizer, which was excellent! The yogurt was thick and very flavorful. The veggies that came with it were fresh and the pita slices were warm. For my entrée I opted for their larger Greek Salad with chicken souvlaki. The chicken came as kebabs on skewers, it was marinated in something yummy and grilled to order. Best hummus I have ever had, and y'all hummus wouldn't sell me at most restaurants. Hummus for me is almost an afterthought until I tried this hummus - and that's just where it starts for this place. We tried one of their appetizer platters, Greek baked spaghetti, moussaka and one of their desserts. The interior decoration is interesting and you can see that they themed it to be like Greek. A little escape from your typical American restaurant. I ordered a hummus as an appetizer and it was okay. Not bad, but nothing to write home about. For my entree, I ordered a gyro with lamb and a side of french fries. It doesn't sound like much, but this was the biggest serving of gyro I've ever had and the french fries were very good, much better than what you'd expect from a Greek restaurant. Salmon and shrimp gyro are both something I'd not had before. Didn't realize they were a thing. I liked the salmon but not in the gyro. The shrimp one was pretty good though. I have eaten at the other location in Midlothian and food was great. But the one in Chester was horrible. The Feta cheese was tasteless and soft. Not firm, flavorful and salty Feta I am so fond of, like the true Greek cheese I would buy at Nick's Produce. The olives were the only good part. The bread was thick , doughy and tasteless. The grape leaves were nothing to write home about and needed a lemon squeezed over them but none supplied. The Hummus was tasteless. Tzatziki had very little cucumber flavor. I got the spanakopita was not good either. Maybe the lack of flavorful taste of good Feta and poor grade of spinach. A cup of Avgolemono was not what I was use too and and not much lemon to taste. Not only was everything fresh and still hot after a 15-20 minute delivery ride but it was well packaged and tasted GREAT! I got the Mega Lamb Gyro which was probably one of the best lamb gyro's I have had in a while. Definitely top 5. The food was so good after 2-3 deliveries that we finally ate in. The staff, extremely nice and helpful. The food, even better in person than delivery!! We can't wait to go back. Goal - try and crush 2 mega gyros in 1 sitting. All of this for under $11! (price as of this review Oct. '21) Mega Gyro (w/lamb) - included a huge order of fries. My other half is obsessed with gyros and this big papa sent him to gyro heaven. I was laughing when he picked it up because the thing was bigger than his face! Side salad - way bigger than expected and super fresh! I'm a big fan of feta cheese and theirs is spectacular! Dolmades - I highly recommend getting the full-sized appetizer instead of the side order of two pieces. This is one of my favorite snacks and they do it better than most. The grape leaves are completely tender. So, so, so good! I like mine served cold, but they also have an option to have them hot. Mini baklava - lordofmercy ... so.freakin.good.
