I really liked both the location and this spot! It is huge inside with a ton of seating on both sides and a giant wrap-around covered patio area. Located in a business strip-mall area with lots to do, see and plenty of parking. Our waitress was exceptionally friendly and attentive. She took excellent care of us and was sweet and polite. The menu is large and I appreciated the Mediterranean-lean as that's my favorite. I went with the Greek Chopped Salad Special which has chicken breast. When it came out - it was one of the largest salads I've ever seen for $18! Well worth the price, probably could've fed three people. Loaded with delicious, moist seasoned chicken breast, tomatoes, cucumber, onion, peppers, and lots of feta cheese. It was SO good. I ate and ate and ate and still had at least half left. My husband went with the Chicken Souvlaki platter and it was another wonderful serving. Came with hot and fresh fries. Soooo good. We didn't try dessert but, lots of fresh goodies in a display by the hostess stand looked wonderful. When we left, a friendly guy up front near the hostess stand charmed my 2-year old and made friends with her and gave her a chocolate chip cookies - needless to say, we ended with a bang and she's a fan! I tried to give this place another chance. I stopped coming because it was brutally uncomfortable to sit at the bar and have a drink or meal. Needless to say this visit proved my point. The obnoxious group of regulars who were so loud you couldn't communicate with the bar tender not only affected the bar area but the restaurant as well. Large local sausage links and Chef's meat was a chicken skewer with all the delicious Greek flavor. The one star isn't for the food or staff or service which is excellent. It's for the absolutely ridiculous bar situation with tables that screw up a perfectly good bar and prevent people from sitting normally at the bar. I know these were put up during COVID for a reason but it's time for them to go. The bartenders don't like them and I haven't talked to a single patron that likes them. We were seated easily, in a comfortable booth. Our waitress was Hope - she was terrific! We had a grilled Chicken Caesar salad, the Uncle Pauls's Sub, and Greek oregano fries. We brought home most of the lunch. I gave the restaurant 4 stars and not 3 because of our wonderful waitress, HOPE, and the absolutely fresh lettuce in the salad, but the Uncle Paul's sub was Very "thin" - when you think of a sub, the bread has been filled with coldcuts, etc. There was so little meat - maybe 1 thin slice of each meat, and I didn't see any cheese. My husband remarked that there was American cheese, but he had to open the sandwich up to confirm that it had been included. For $14, It should have had much more meat, etc. in it. I will say the tomatoes slices were nice and ripe. There should be more oregano on the fries and less salt - but the feta was nice with the fries. read more

This place is just below average. We've eaten at their downtown location and it was decent, but not great. Today we tried the Newtown location. Positives: big space with lots of TVs for sports. Fast service and lots of attention by staff. Cons: food is just broiler made dishes. Fries were soggy, the Godfather Philly was incredibly bland and slightly cold. The Reuben was good, but was soggy. I don't think we'd come back to either location. They need to step up their food preparation game. Sad, because the location is cool. Additional note--we could get zero cell signal (not their fault) and their WiFi was so slow it was unusable. read more

Went to lunch with my parents the other day...asked if we could have a low top with chairs and they kindly sat us where we needed (my dad has bad knees, so he needs to get up and down easily). The young man who took care of us was attentive, friendly, and was very accommodating...he got us everything we needed to enjoy our meal and checked on us every time he walked past. The food was good; exactly what we expected...everything tasted good, was well executed, and the portions were great! Dad got the godfather Philly, and my mom and I shared the fish and chips special and the prime rib sandwich special. As for the ambience; felt a little dark, outdated, strangely mismatched chairs, and dingy bathrooms (makes it feel a little dirty IMO)...sooooo much seating, so they can do a ton of business... Our go-to when in Williamsburg. The menu is enormous with something for everyone's taste preferences. We've enjoyed everything we have ordered and have tried most sections of the menu. The good is that hubby got the lamb gyro and said it was as good as our local gyro place, but since it was Monday our local place was closed. I got the New York sub which was such a disappointment because it lacked any meat and had so much mayo. So then I took the other half's meat to attempt to make it better, but there was so much mayonnaise that it started to fall apart. The meat lacked any seasoning anyway. One slice of corned beef and one slice of salami along with a tasteless slice of cheese is not a New York sub, but the good news is that the sweet server checked on us and was so concerned about how upset I was. Juliana then talked with the manager and had the cost removed as I had not eaten hardly any of it. She kept apologizing but it wasn't her fault. Probably more of a 2.5/5 I've heard about Paul's Deli and have been meaning to check it out. Came here with some coworkers and we were sat at the high tables. I ordered a Chicken Pita (which came with fries on the side). It took quite a bit of time for my food to come out and I just assumed because we had several members in our party. Well, after most of us got out entrees, some people in our party were still waiting after 30+ minutes of waiting. The three dishes they were waiting on were mozzarella sticks, chicken parm, and eggplant parm. We felt bad, but the people in our party urged us to start eating so our food doesn't get cold. Well--too late because my fries were stone cold on arrival. The actual entree was alright. I think my favorite part was the tzatziki. I don't think I would order it again or recommend it to someone who asks what they should order. Our waitress was kind. I got a bit of a surprise on my receipt. On the menu I ordered from, it said 12.99. However, me receipt had 18.99 on it. I didn't want to make a scene or have my party wait on me while figuring it out so I just left it but it didn't leave a good feeling when I left. I'm not sure if I'd return. We were offered pink and they were more crucified than a McDonalds single. Grease was the burger's only flavor. The French fries were shoveled out anemic, limp & cold. The waitress was friendly & commiserative when she heard our meal displeasure. Even if she told management our dismay - not a Nickle was removed from the bill. I love Calamari, but I can't say I really loved it here. The ringlets were cut really bug, and guess I'm not really use to that. I ordered the breaded wings (pretty good) and my husband had the Godfather Philly (he loved it with the sauce.) For dessert we had the Brownie and the Tuxedo Bomb. They were both good, but the Brownie was much better when we later popped it in the microwave for a few seconds. I had a drink called the Spiked Lemonade, and thought it was really good. Silver Fox Here! I think we found our new spot for pregame or after game celebrations when I attend William and Mary games! It has a local cool dive bar feel, when you walk in you can definitely see all the pride memorabilia on the tables and wall. Wow that menu is huge! Want American? Italian? Greek? We've been to Pauls many times and it's OK, not great. Last night we went with friends and it was just awful. I had a salami and provologne sub and my wife had chicken souvlaki. My sub was barely that, two pieces of salami, one piece of provologne on each half. It was loaded with lettuce, an thin sliver of tomato, and sauce that was terrible. The fries were OK. My wifes chicken was old and tasted bad. I got sick during the night and was out of it all day. We'll never go back. read more

To start off , my gf just recently started working near by and really wanted to check this place out . We met up for lunch Her and I and 2 of our kids 9 and 17 . When we sat , we had to request a kids menu , then we had to request crayons , the waiter gave my daughter one of his pens , not his fault crayons aren't available. My son and ordered a Stromboli which cost around 22 bucks ,when it came out it was small considering the price , Pizza Sam in Newport will make one double the size for 5 bucks less . The real problem occurred when my gf ordered the simple burger . The burger came out made wrong and I mean like different from how the description states, plus for the lettuce they used the hard center part of the lettuce . We let the waiter know . He was was super understanding and said he would talk to his manager Jessica about taking it off . He returns to the Table to inform us she said no . I was like wow , I guess making a burger different from it's description and using the lettuce knot and the customer not eating it doesn't qualify for anything.....not even a visit to the Table lol . He was woefully unable to answer questions about the menu and gave incorrect information. My husband asked what fish was in the fish and chips special and was told cod. In fact, it was skin on catfish (which was not good). This "special" was $20. My Godfather Philly was completely underwhelming. It lacked any seasoning and came with a bland au jus dip.
