The portion was large with three chicken breasts and fettuccine. It was enough for two small appetites to share. Service is always friendly and efficient. A gem of a place popular with locals. Excellent breakfasts that are much better than the chain restaurants nearby. We also tried their lunch menu which was outstanding. Choices from burgers and pizza to tasty Italian dishes. Shrimp Scampi and Eggplant Parmigiana were great. read more

Oh my Larry's! If you are on a budget and want to eat out , this wouldn't be my choice. The restaurant was clean and there are lots of choices. When I walked in I seated myself and I was encouraged that it was fairly busy. My main takeaway was that this is a Mexican restaurant trying to be an Italian restaurant. Margarita specials, a beer cooler with primarily Mexican beers, and soccer on telemundo. The Italian part is a suggestion. I got spaghetti with sausage. The pasta was way over cooked, the marinara was not fresh, and the sausage link had been boiled to mush. They did have an "Italian red wine" by the glass. I understand not all restaurants need to be five star to be good or great but Larry's left me confused and disappointed in my choices. read more

The food at this place has dropped off in the past 12 months to the point that it's almost inedible. This is the second...and last time I have had to throw out my take-out order. Their Minestrone Soup...I thought thry made an error.The menu description is vegetables in a broth. I received a bowl that had 5 slices of celery floating in what looked and tasted like warm water. This is not minestrone soup , which is a hearty soup of vegetables and usually pasta. This wasvinedible. I called to ask if there was a mistake. No, that's "minestrone" soup to them. Next, a chef salad. I received some ham and cheese (maybe Two slices each?) rolled up on top of some romaine lettuce that was mostly the soggy ends and not fresh. ALSO, mixed within the lettuce were ramdom, overripe slices of tomato and sliced raw onion. The menu said nothing abt onions. I cant eat onions. They were throughout the lettuce, not possible to remove. In the garbage! I am very disappointed because I used to rave abt this place. It was my go-to for lunch take-out. Different owner? Different cooks? It all says "we dont care, just give us money" Never again! read more

I read that here was the best Sicilian pizza in Williamsburg VA - as good as Spumoni Gardens in Brooklyn. Well, I'm from Brooklyn & went to high school a couple of blocks from Spumoni Gardens. I ate their Sicilian, or "square" as we called it, for decades. The product from Larry's is not Sicilian pizza at all. The hallmark of Sicilian pizza is that the cheese is on the crust & covered with sauce - opposite of the round variety. Additionally, Sicilian pizza has a thick crust & it's baked in the pizza oven in a black iron pan. It's the granddad of 'deep dish'. Sicilian is thick, stiff, non-folding, and a bubbling good time where the cheese is completely melted & adheres well to the cooked base crust. Larry's takes a round pizza & simply makes it square. They do not bake it properly making the 4 center pieces, trash. Complete soup in the middle. So it's not Sicilian & 1/4 is garbage. This is not to say that it's not the best Sicilian in Williamsburg. I kept & ate their 12 pieces on the edge whereas I've thrown out entire pies I've bought in this pathetic pizza town. The crust tastes ok. That's better right there. The sauce is good. The cheese should be melted so I can't really say the quality, as lower quality cheeses leach oil onto the pizza instead of evenly melting. My pizza still had individual nodules of cheese. I will not be patronizing Larry's again. read more

We had yet another terrible experience at Larry's Italian, on Richmond Road, next to the post office and across from Harris Teeter. We placed a large order on the phone that a friend was picking up on the way over. Things fell apart when we wanted to pay over the phone; we were passed from person to person, at least one saying they needed to see our ID before they could charge our card. At one point the amount went DOWN, which made no sense at all. After 20 minutes (!) we finally got them to charge our card. But when our friend stopped to pick it up she was pointedly ignored by the staff, like very deliberately ignored. She only managed to pick it up by using her "New York voice" and being LOUD. After all that, the food was terrible, and cold! I suppose most of this could be chalked up to them being busy, so I suppose they don't need my business. I'd suggest they don't need any of yours either. read more

Just ordered a carry out Pizza worth one topping large we want half pepperoni and half extra cheese. It looks like they're barely put any cheese on it above the regular amount extremely disappointing. I make manicotti myself and I like my own better. My husband had wings with fries and it was good's. One great thing was the entree came with sides like a salad and bread knots. This is a nice little Italian restaurant. We stopped by here on the way back home from Williamsburg. It is a very nice casual place with good food. They had plenty of tables and booths, I ordered the lasagna and my son had the baked ziti. We both really enjoyed the food. I wasn't a big fan of their garlic knots. I thought they were rather bland. The portion sizes were about right. Our food also came with a salad. So we were satisfied. Some Italian restaurants give you too much food. We stopped in for lunch today. Luckily we got in right before noon. The place filled up quickly. They have an extensive menu and serve breakfast until at least 2 pm. The prices are very good. Our server was very attentive and friendly. There was a large group of ladies sitting in the center but it was not noisy at all. You get a lot for your money. Hubby got the Mexican omelette but it wasn't spicy enough and he wanted a hot sauce but was given Texas Pete's which he uses as ketchup so not really much of a hot sauce for him. They were not prepared staffing wise for our group that practically took over the restaurant - even had to help the waitstaff deliver food, get checks and drink refills - and it still wasn't enough. So if you have a tournament in the nearby complex allow lots of time before considering this place. We had lunch here today. What a surprise. I had the lunch chicken parmigiana with spaghetti-delicious. My partner had the daily special of meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans. I usually do not order meatloaf when eating out but wow it was so good. The price was reasonable (around $10 for each meal). The meals came with garlic knots that were sooooo good! Overall it was alright. The garlic bread knots are a little dry and a mouth full if you're use to the small ones. Even though it's dry their also fluffy so it's kind of annoying eating them. I went on a dead night so the service was fast, I don't know how it would be on a full night. It was quiet in there too haha. No music, just me eating. I was surprised how comfy this restaurant is. On Thursday January 11 while out on errands I decided to try breakfast at a new place just steps away from the Post Office. Large booths. Good natural lighting. Food ... I came for a late breakfast. Many choices. I settled on a Greek omelette with extra Feta cheese, delicious home fries and rye bread toast. They use 4 eggs in the omelette stuffed with spinach, chopped peppers and onion, and feta. The extra feta was fresh and moist! I would prefer the omelette to be a bit fluffier. It is cooked somewhat flat. Service ... warm, friendly. timely. Lunch hour filled up with customers. Parking is easy in front with extra parking a short walk from the rear. Warm weather they seem to have an outdoor area which I would enjoy. Full bar. This is not a Panera or a McDonalds. It is a privately owned restaurant clearly enjoyed by the locals. About 20 minute drive from my home. I am recently widowed in my mid 70's. I will return to this comfortable place. Maybe for dinner next time. Wow- worst Italian meal I have ever had. Ordere veal marsala: supposed to be veal cutlet in a brown wine (marsala) over linguine. Instead was served veal in what I am sure was a bottled tomato sauce, and over a thin spaghetti. It was awful: do not eat here. Ordered lunch for a few friends. Two cheesesteaks one with banana peppers, an order of fries, club sandwich with chips and a fish dinner with mashed potatoes. Arrived and they would not accept the coupon clipped from go Williamsburg magazine. They needed to see the entire thing?!?! Food arrived in the order was in complete both subs have banana peppers and there were no fries in the bag. Returned to Larry's to have the two subs corrected and to pick up the fries and inquire about the coupon. After some conversation they fix the subs and supplied the fries but would not honor the coupon without the receipt. Eventually this too was rectified returned with the subs.
