I'm so disappointed with the service at Colletti's!!! We did a "pick up" last week of three meals, and to our surprise, one was fine and two had a rotten smell! I think a common ingredient went bad. We called and we were told that they would credit us for the two meals and they would put it on our telephone number for the next time we ordered. Well we went to bed "hangry" but accepted the situation. Today, we decide to try Colletti's again. Things don't go well. Again!!! Colletti's has been good to us before, things happen and we wanted to get pass it so we give them a call to place a delivery this time. We call, they find our credit but then tell us that the credit was ONLY HALF of the price of the two dishes! What!!!!!! So last time we didn't eat and this time only half of the meals will be compensated!!!! I was so frustrated I asked the manager to cancel the whole order because that is definitely not what she told us last time! She then says, give me a minute let me talk to the owner. She comes back and says sorry, he said no. I can't believe it!!! We have been regular customers for over 10 years! I was so hurt at this point! I told her again, just cancel!The manager then says that I can't cancel the order because she already put the order in with the kitchen. I told her again that I needed this canceled. We really tried to make things right with this place but they didn't seem interested in keeping long time customers so we will move on and find a new "go to place." Bye Colletti's! It was fun, but we see your priorities now and it's not to keep long time customers! *** I have to add that I actually waited and waited in hope that the manager or owner called me back before I wrote this review but an hour later and no phone call so they moved on and I have to move on too. read more

I had a LARGE catering order delivered. (Spent over 1k) Food was DELICIOUS! We ordered baked ziti, fettuccine Alfredo, Cesar Salad, green beans, Italian Beef, cheese curds, Italian sausage, mashed potatoes, meatballs, chicken lemone, and cheese pizza. We were complimented the entire time how great the food was! (We actually had a graduation party the following day and family told me how the food was better at my party.) We had no lemon chicken or meatballs leftover, it was that good! Italian sausage and beef were just as good as those beef places! Love how the juice was sent separately. We aren't from Illinois-we we're staying downtown Chicago and on our way home looked up good family owned Italian restaurants....this one came up looked at menu and decided sure we will try! What a mistake. Service was crap. No refill on drinks ever offered except by the nice gentleman who was refilling water cups all night. We got there at 445 ordered and didn't get food till 615.... Not once did the server come over to let us know it was going to be that long, check on us nothing! When the food finally came... my pizza looked like it had been under a warmer for 20 min, my husbands pasta was dried out looking and taste was bland, my daughters food came out 5-7 min after ours because I'm sure she forgot to put it in. Great food! This lent, they had a special seafood menu available daily. I went twice because it was so good and would have gone more if time permitted. Some variations to the menu each day. The first time I had the halibut. It was a very generous size piece of fish and I brought half home. Second time, I had the swordfish, Mediterranean style. Another winner. The prices were very reasonable. I love the minestrone soup. Very thick and loaded with vegies. The baked apple tart, served hot, with ice cream was quite good. I wish they kept the variety of fish on the regular menu. Service is always friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Collettis. Good food and ambiance. Absolutely 5 stars! Huge menu- everything from seafood to steak, pasta of course, pizza and burgers. Fantastic cocktails. We had an old fashioned and a pear martini. Scallops wrapped 8 bacon as an appetizer. Delicious lasagne. Apple tart with vanilla gelato. Lots of free parking. Tons of lovely ambiance. And Alyssa was the perfect server. Colletti's is a local restaurant on the NE corner of Elston & Central Ave. Last night both my wife and I arrived home late from different destinations with nothing to eat at home, so we decided to go back and take advantage of an offer from Colletti's. Since December is my birthday month he send me an e-mail with an offer for my birthday entree at 1/2 price that needed to be used in my birthday month. This was the second time we ate at Colletti's. The first time was for my nieces graduation from college about 2 1/2 years ago. Last night we went back. The first time we went I was a little apprehensive because of the wide range of reviews from 1-5 stars on Yelp. At the time I felt that the food was good 4 1/2 stars & service 4 1/2 stars. I guess Colletti's is known for their award winning ribs which I had the first time & was very pleased with my order. Colletti's is a nice restaurant w/a good ambiance. The parking lot is always full which is generally a sign of a good restaurant. (Lots of regulars?) Anyway we went back last night 12/30/17 & figured why mess around if you know something is good so I ordered their award winning ribs again last night. I'm not sure why, but the ribs were flat and not very good. The flavoring was rather bland and lacking so I asked for something, more sauce, hot sauce something to enhance the flavor. I mean these are their AWARD winning ribs? You would think that there would be consistency & they would be just as good the second time, especially for $24 dollars for a full slab. Sorry to say, but for whatever reason, bad batch, different cook they were not as good. My wife ordered the pasta w/a Bolognese sauce. She let me try some & we were both disappointed with the taste. One nice thing when you are seated they bring you a warm loaf of bread w/olive oil w/whole cloves of garlic in it. The waitress who I won't mention by name was very nice, but her service was inconsistent. She brought our food, but never really came back to check on us to see if we needed anything else. Never even asked we needed more water (which I did). The bus guy was very good and offered us more bread and olive oil w/lots of whole cloves of garlic at my request. This place is charming and cozy with a nice vibe and decor and tasty food. I would consider coming back for a drink or an entree but I would never host a private event here. The amount of food they brought out was embarrassing. Imagine having tables of 8-10 people each and they bring out one pork tenderloin sliced in about 10 pieces for us to pass around. It didn't even make it to the last person at the table before running out. We had to wait for the waiter to pass by to ask for more pork and chicken. And then wait for him to bring it. It literally wasn't enough to feed us. Imagine spending $30-40 a person for a private event and getting 2 slices of pork and a small piece of chicken. This place has so much potential but their attempts at cost cutting the food is just embarrassing and obvious. I am always pleased with the service, but I was extremely disappointed with a meal my family had two weeks ago. We sat in the bar area. Our appetizers (oysters and artichoke) took an hour. My husband ordered the special, which was a steak. Advertised as a special, he was very disappointed with the bland, flavorless, and unseasoned steak. My daughter ordered her steak rare. When it was served, it was extremely well done. More so than my husband's steak which he in fact ordered med/well. We returned the well done steak, only to receive basically a Pittsburg rare steak. It took about 3 min to deliver after we returned the original. It became very obvious the grill at this restaurant is clearly NEVER cleaned. My daughters steak was basically uncooked with dirty grill on the outside. So two of our party of 5 did not eat their steak. The lobster pasta dish my son ordered was as mediocre as everything else. My short ribs were good, and that's why I can accept giving this experience 1 star. None the less, when the server "offered" a shot to us (we were celebrating), we agreed. Only three of the five of us did a shot with the server. When I received my bill, there were FOUR SHOTS charged to us. I said nothing, but I would have thought if the server offered the shot and did it with us, there would not have been a charge. Anyway I paid the $400+ bill, tipped 25% and will never return. Such a shame, I live 2 blocks away and have been here many times for cocktails. Never again! read more

We'll luckily her food was good, but who in the right mind will give a burnt ribs, plus this was prepaid and was past the pickup time because the cooks were watching the stupid storm and weren't watching obviously my ribs! I thought this place was better then gales street inn I guess I was wrong.! I've eaten here a few times. My sister in law had her baby shower here, a funeral luncheon etc. I am not impressed by their banquet food. However, their outdoor patio is perfect for having a few drinks. I highly recommend the Pina Colleti! Their entrees are pretty good as well. Big portions. The garlic bread is soaked in butter! As my entree, the food on my plate were chicken, and 2 types of pasta. For what I've paid compared to the food I got, it was very expensive. My party planners stated $38 included the private room charge, service, and tips, but there was nothing special about this place. I say this because we've had private parties at other Italian restaurants in the city with a parking lot, and in comparison, this place was not as good in price, food quality, room size, and accommodations. Long time customers. Sent an E-mail about our last visit. You should always let the owners know if there was something wrong. In my case the walleye was over cooked and the string beans like straw. $28. It was a birthday celebration for my daughter so I let it slide thinking I'll just let him know by E-mail. Likewise, if the owner values his customers he should acknowledge this. He hasn't. I"M NEVER GOING BACK!!! Figure it will cost this guy at least $1200.00 a year in revenue. Went with the rigatoni for my entree. Wasn't bad. I should have specified a larger size. Got a drink as well. A frozen margarita. While drinking it made me think of those margarita mixes you see it in the grocery store. The minestrone soup was decent. Originally inquired if they had campari. The waitress was unsure. Upon leaving noticed Campari on a shelf in one of the outer bars. The neighborhood the restaurant in is primairly residential and that's how I imagine the primary clientele is for this eatery. I always pass by Colletti's and I'm glad I finally got to try it. I came for a friends birthday for dinner and we had a pleasant experience. Service here was amazing, our server kept checking up on us and brought us whatever we needed and they included a complimentary ice cream for my friends birthday. I had the Venetian seafood gardiniera, which was a great seafood salad but I don't think all of the seafood was great quality, but it was still delicious. I also ordered the crispy chicken sandwich and it was good with a side of fries and I got to try my friend's thin crust cheese pizza, which was very good! read more
