Stopped in for game day at our local gem, and the vibe did not disappoint! The staff are genuinely nice folks who make you feel right at home the second you walk in a neighborhood charm in the middle of the city. Tons of TVs everywhere, so no matter where you sit, you've got a perfect view of the action. That said, when the place fills up for big games, service gets noticeably slower and they could definitely use an extra hand or two behind the bar and on the floor. Food-wise - it's a mixed bag. The chicken tenders are solid (especially when you throw in some onion rings and mushrooms), but the pizza we tried - based on what friends at nearby tables were raving about was honestly pretty underwhelming. For a spot with this much potential to become everyone's go-to game-day hangout, the kitchen feels like it's still playing catch-up. Still, there's something really special about the cozy, unpretentious feel here. It's the kind of place where you can tell the regulars have been coming for years... and after a few more visits (and maybe a little menu glow-up), I bet we'll be part of that crew too. Coach's Bar & Grill is a neighborhood sports bar on Northwest Highway in Norwood Park. My love and I were lured here one Sunday evening by our friends who like to eat and drink. Coach's has a big bar area in the center and tables along the sides of the bar, and there is a pool table too. The TV screens were broadcasting various football games to get you in the mood to drink. They had a promotional poster on the wall touting a $20 "football special" that includes a large thin crust pizza and 8 wings. It's probably not a well-known special, so we flagged down the young man who is the proprietor and yes indeed we could get that special. The sausage tavern-style pizza was not bad, and along with the BBQ wings was a fine "light" dinner for the four of us. They also have a $3 special (!) for a pint of Guinness, so I had to get that too. To complete the sports bar motif, the men's room features quotes on the walls by famous sports figures. read more

Band was great this past Saturday, and bartender was kind. One thing I don't like in particular, besides the state of their bathrooms (barn style, SUPER invasive doors with a flimsy clasp) -- I was quickly stopped when asked an old, kinda creepy male to stop rubbing my friends back at the bar. A blonde female employee got in between us; assuring me he was a regular and it's fine. Not sure how a neighborhood bar should operate, but if it were me I wouldn't allow harassment of any kind on the premises. I won't be returning. EDIT: replying to the manager / Owner Sal below and to those customers reading this-- absolutely APPAULED at the blatant lie here. I was not in the building to witness any argument. I simply informed the public that a female employee told my friend and I it's ok he is a regular when she was physically assaulted. Sounds like you, Sal, will have some tough roads ahead with that sour attitude. No one wants to go to a bar where the bathroom doors are essentially flaps. This little Norwood Park gem is one of those places that just feels like home. They create a comfortable, neighborhood vibe that keeps you coming back because the atmosphere is always relaxed and fun. Perfect for meeting up with friends and family. Love the staff they are so friendly, welcoming and consistent. On top of that, the food is solid. Wings for a dollar on Thursday's, 10 dollar pizza's, karaoke on Wednesdays and Saturdays and there's even a diamond pool table you can play for free. They changed the menu and the food is not eatable anymore, absolutely disgusting food. The owners and employees are rude and unpleasant, they make you feel very uncomfortable. About a average looking Sports Bar on the border of where Suburbia meets the city of chicago. There was nothing special about the bear here and there was not much to choose from. They have a brewery that's across the street that's much more unique and had some of the same bear that this bar hand. First time ordering here. Delivery thru grub hub. Our food came fast but came incorrectly! We ordered a hangover cheeseburger, salad and wings. Given the option for 2 different flavors of wings and we got the whisky bbq wings that didn't seemed fried at all and sweet chili sauce on the side. Who dips bbq wings in chili sauce???? The burger had NO EGG, no cheese and no aioli! It was cooked well. The fries weren't bad and the salad was decent. When I called to mention our order was wrong I was told the manager doesn't come in until 6pm and to call back. Really??? How bout take my name and number and CALL ME!! Ridiculous!! read more

Ordered from coach's for the first time tonight and was definitely glad that I did! I got an order of their blackened cod fish tacos, and they were fantastic. The fish was cooked nicely, there was a sriracha aioli which gave a little heat, alongside a very fresh and clean tasting slaw with a mango salsa on top. There was also a side of Spanish rice with it which was nothing special. I will order the fish tacos again in the future! read more

Went here with some lady friends last night and had a great time! It's your typical sports bar but the food was actually pretty good. We had an order of truffle fries ($4 I think) and they were phenomenal ! I almost didn't see them on the menu because they were under sides and not appetizers- but make a point of ordering them! We also got chips and salsa ($4.50) , The chips were pretty generic but the salsa was really good! They should bottle that stuff. We also had the appetizer sampler which had buffalo wings, cheese curds, more chips and salsa and really good onion rings. Everything was delicious! It was not my proudest dieting moment but it all went great with our beers. Our server took great care of us and kept the cold ones coming. It's just another boring sports bar. It reminds me of the bars that dot suburban strip malls. It draws a good crowd of neighborhood people and the vibe seems friendly. The nachos we ordered were pretty bland and tasteless. I was really hoping for something cool and different in that space, but the whole sports bar thing just isn't for me. We ordered for delivery, cuz ya know, quarantine. Also we didn't want to put on pants for pickup. I ordered the bbq burger and my other half got the Philly cheese steak. We didn't have high hopes for it being warm, but we were pleasantly surprised that it was. My burger, albeit soggy on the bottom, but transport, was amazing. The bbq sauce was tangy and delicious and the burger was cooked perfectly. However it definitely is not a first date burger! I had to eat that with a knife and fork! The hubs, who usually only describes everything that he eats as "good", no matter what it is said that he is really glad he did order it because it's the best Philly cheesesteak he has had in a really long time. We are looking forward to being able to leave the house and actually eat a meal out of our house, and this will be one of the first places we go! read more
