    Complimentary Italian bread and oil
    John M.

Located on the Northwest side of Chicago, this 4 generation family owned and operated establishment has evolved into a neighborhood favorite. Their menu is extensive with a huge selection of appetizers, soups, salads, pizza, sandwiches, pastas and desserts. Service is amazing and once we were seated we were brought complimentary Italian bread with olive oil and butter. Each dinner comes with either soup or salad. The Minestrone soup was very good..loaded with fresh vegetables and flavor. We had the Short Rib Bucatini which had a delicious tomato Ragu sauce . Portion was big enough to share. If you are looking for traditional Italian family recipes in a cozy setting, give Colletti's a try..you will not be disappointed.

I attended an industry-sponsored Lunch and Learn event. The fond memories this place brought back were a bit overwhelming. Colletti's has been a stable for decades. The interior has changed since the last time I was there. It seemed more spacious and meticulous. In addition to different dining sections, a party room can host events like the one I attended. Their delicious thin-crust cheese pizza was available while participants checked in. For lunch, we were served broasted chicken, Italian sausage with peppers, mashed potatoes, and green beans as sides. The chicken was outstanding. It was tender and succulent. The Italian sausage had a nice flavor and was enjoyable. To end the meal, we were treated to Italian Ice (not on the menu) and coffee. The staff was excellent and personable. There is a private parking lot with plenty of spaces. The overall ambiance was cozy and welcoming. Make sure to check out three framed historic menus on the walls. I highly recommend this place for a casual or intimate meal. You won't be disappointed.

This place has got to be one of the most wasteful restaurants on the planet. Just like another…read morereviewer, I had high hopes for this place as it had great reviews and the fact that it was near public transit (assuming it gets high foot traffic). We went here after our flight landed in Chicago - instant regret. I ordered the chicken gyro, which, for some odd reason came with a quarter of white onion chunks, a whole Roma tomato, lots of lettuce, and a whole vat of tzatziki sauce. I requested feta, as that is pretty typical in a chicken gyro. I was told it would be an extra cost, to which I agreed. Yet imagine my surprise when I received not one, not two, but three entire sticks of whole feta. Not crumbled on top of my pita like I was expecting. Additionally these three blocks of feta ended up being $5. That's on me. If I had known to check the menu for whole feta sticks, I would have known better. Aside from that, the pita was almost completely inedible, as it was just coated and lathered in the tzatziki sauce. It came to me on a flat pita, completely impossible to pick up. I ended up requesting just a plain side pita to just construct my own. Wayyyy too much stuff wasted on one pita. Cook could have made a whole second pita from the very mid ingredients - would have made it more worth the price and excessive amount of feta. The side pita was reasonably priced. Just like the other hopeful reviewer, our fries were overcooked and practically hollow. Additionally, we each got a "side of fries" and that was practically a BASKET of fries. So...two baskets of too many overcooked fries. Another waste. I wanted to do more than pay and leave, but God did we have a rough flight. Was not expecting to be so disappointed upon stepping into what seems like a "Mom 'n Pop" kinda place. Run the other way so you don't feel guilty about the amount of food you are bound to waste.

If your lucky you may find parking on the Milwaukee Ave right alongside but it's metered & very limited number of spaces. I finally stopped by as there was 'A' metered spot on Milwaukee. The Hobo Skillet has hash browns, onions, sausage, bacon, cheese & 2 eggs on top over east. Delicious cardiac city.

We sat down and viewed the menu that had plenty of corned beef hash options. I opted for the traditional CBH. You can see the chef (and I believe owner) making them on the grill. The space is very small, but you can tell the restaurant has been in tact for decades and the owner isn't changing the charm. The service was great, the restaurant is small but quaint, clean, and most importantly - delicious. I really didn't expect to enjoy my food so much, but it's really a hidden gem.

I tried the chicken chorizo skillet and at first I thought it was a little bit salty, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Hubby tried the corned beef skillet and he enjoyed it as well. Last night we celebrated a birthday at Edelweiss. If you stick to the sandwiches and salads…read more($14-$18), it can easily be an affordable weekend night out--but with so many amazing choices on the Edelweiss Signatures menu ($28-$35), it's hard to resist! The layout is great: an inviting biergarten on one side, an interior bar on the other, and a large main dining room with classic Bavarian decor past the hostess stand. We started at the bar, where I tried a non-alcoholic Clausthaler (which reminded me a bit of Heineken), while a friend ordered the massive 32-ounce "big-as-your-head" Hacker-Pschorr Weissbier. Since the weather was perfect, we sat outdoors in the spacious biergarten, which easily accommodates groups of any size. We started with the Sausage Sampler ($18)--a trio of sausage served over sauerkraut (the kraut was so good on its own you definitely shouldn't skip it). For mains, my husband chose a favorite, the Stuffed Cabbage Rolls ($28), which did not disappoint. Our friends ordered the Beef Stroganoff ($28), Jäger Schnitzel ($29), and Rouladen ($30). I opted for the Bayerischer Schweinshaxe ($35)--a 3lb roasted pork shank that turned out to be the absolute best value on the table, as it was easily enough for four meals! For sides, the cucumber salad was refreshing and tangy, the spätzle (a German take on pasta) was perfectly tender, and the vegetable of the day (sautéed summer squash) was flavorful and satisfying. We ended the night by sharing a huge slice of German Chocolate Cake. To top it off, our two-person service team was fantastic--constantly keeping drinks refilled and clearing plates to keep everything running smoothly. Highly recommend!

First we can talk about the restaurant itself, very big! Huge bar when you walk in and tons of dining space, I can't imagine a day you can't get a seat for lunch or dinner so don't worry if you haven't planned ahead! The whole place is decorated very well and has a true feeling of Germany. Renee was our server and she was sweet, happy and incredibly attentive in a good way. She answered our questions and honestly we're very accurate. We started with a pretzel Ofcourse, it was fresh warm and we could have had two easily! I decided to try their sauerbraten, I will say, it's nearly not sour enough for me. It was on the sweeter end but I have a feeling they try to gear the meals towards more people Enjoying them, it wasn't for me however unfortunately The dessert was sadly another let down. My favorite cake is black Forrest and it was far from traditional. Overall. I will still give the restaurant a decent rating as I think many other people will truly enjoy the food here, but for someone who grew up in a German household, spent time in Germany and ate from the homeland quite a bit, it simply wasn't for me.
