Having flat spots don't impact brain development, and its more of a cosmetic issue when the baby gets older. To correct this, our pediatrician recommended physical therapy and helmet therapy. Helmet therapy isn't as scary as it sounds. The orthotist, Bobby Smith is great with kids and explained the process well. First the child's head is scanned with a STARscanner to develop 3D and 2D profiles of the head. They then develop a helmet for your child to eventually wear 23 hours/day for several months. You have dozens of cool colors and designs to choose from! Follow-up appointments every 2 to 4 weeks for rescan. I'm happy to see that for about a month, my son's flatness level decreased from "severe" to "moderate." Hopefully after a month or two it'll be in the "normal" category. The helmet isn't too bad for babies and they seem to get used to it quickly. Occasionally, you'll need to take it off for a few minutes if there's too much itching. The other aspects of helmet treatment are: * Protects the baby against falls when they sit too long or bump when on their tummy * Their head butts are going to hurt you more, so watch out * Surprisingly they sleep incredibly well with the helmet - perhaps because the head is well cushioned. * Provides extra head warmth - great for fall and winter but not for summer.

The room where we saw the practitioner was decorated in welcoming child friendly theme. I received a call to approve my share of cost before anything was ordered, and our order was filled within a couple weeks. I highly recommend this office!

Extremely! How she got a job there or anywhere for that matter I will never know. I really think someone should explain to her that she actually works in the medical field and people are actually in pain when they are trying to get in touch with the Drs. that work at this medical facility so a much more pleasant demeanor would be a lot more acceptable. This discourteous individual then proceeded to tell me that the Dr. doesn't have any appointments until a month from the time that I am actually calling, then basically hung up on me. I will never be recommending anyone to NorCal Urology and I will be letting my primary care doctor know how unprofessional and rude the front desk is over there as well, as they might not want to be referring patients to such an unnecessarily nasty experience. I then proceeded to make an appointment at a different establishment where the receptionist who answered was friendly and courteous and very thorough and this place will be seeing me by the end of the week. So no to ever wanting to go to or recommending anyone to NorCal Urology when there are so many other establishments that hire competent personable people who know how to answer a phone. If I could give zero stars I would!

His medical assistant is more not the kindest nor makes you feel comfortable. There was no comfort in this visit. I'd wish the bathroom was more clean as well. I understand the bathroom was used a lot but the toilet had a bunch of crap on, I didn't want to sit on the toilet. Wish the visit was a little more comfortable since I was taking my bottom half off exposing my problem.
