Hubby and I drove up to the small parking area littered with water holes from the recent rain. The cafe appeared to be a shack. Once we stepped inside, we were immediate greeted the smiling staff and quickly found a table. Looks can be deceiving, so do not go by the looks of this cafe. The food and service are amazing. Hubby and I had the same breakfast with eggs, hash browns, and toast, but I opted for chicken fried steak and Hubby had the grilled pork chop. The pork chop was seasoned perfectly. We could not believe the great pricing. Both of our breakfast totaled nearly $30.00 with tip. Totally gem and worth a visit.

First time having lunch here and did not disappoint. Onion rings are a must and fish was flakey, moist and seasoned well. Zucchini squash was grilled and seasoned just right.

Pecan Crusted Chicken. Sautéed Zucchini. Pinto Beans. Cream gravy. Hot roll. Very good!

Good new spot south of Rice. Excellent food. Basic country cafe food with a few twist. Good service. Be sure to check the chalkboard on the north wall for daily specials. I'll be back! 8/13/2020: I'm back!!!! Blackened Tilapia special today served on a bed of rice with two sides (that makes 3, right?) and a warm roll. I'm not a tilapia fan. It's a boring white fish without much flavor. But here they blacken it and it is quite good. I would order it again anytime. Buttermilk pie for desert. I asked for it to be heated just a touch. It's a bit creamier than I have experienced, and I like it. Like it's almost ready to melt. Put toasted coconut in it and it would win awards. (Hint hint).

The Rice Cafe is one of those gems you're lucky to find while traveling. We decided to give them a try and were very glad we did. The cafe has a country look inside & out with a clean if somewhat rustic dining room. It was lunchtime and they were busy. The young ladies who waited on us were very nice & professional. Now to the food. We ordered our drinks and then were given a sample of their soup of the day: Chicken Noodle. This soup was absolutely delicious; a creamy soup with lots of shredded chicken and macaroni noodles. We liked it so much we ordered two large servings to go (It's what's for dinner!). I ordered the Tuna Salad Sandwich on Wheat Toast served with fries. It was your basic tuna & mayo salad with fresh leaf lettuce (I chose no tomatoes) and the fries were skinny & crispy; so what's not to like? I was really envious of the cheeseburger my husband ordered. He opted for onion rings instead of fries and said the burger was very good and a good size patty with all the usual fixings too! The onion rings couldn't possibly be anything but fresh made. Yum! The special of the day was Crispy Tacos with rice & beans. I asked another diner how the dish was and she said "Scrumptious!". Dang I should've ordered that (I suffer from meal envy often). The prices are very reasonable as well. The next time we're traveling on I-45 we're gonna stop at The Rice Cafe. You should too!!

Nestled in downtown Corsicana in a building dating back to the early 1900s, Mita's exudes a trendy yet nostalgic vibe with a fantastic menu to match. We ordered the Chai Tea Latte and the Apple Christmas Tea. They offer several seating areas perfect for conversation, relaxation, or hanging out. A standout feature is their book section, which highlights local authors and adds a unique charm to the space. My wife loved her Chai Tea Latte, calling it delicious, while my Apple Christmas Tea was hands down the best cup of tea I've ever had. We ended up staying for lunch because of doing some remote work. I had the Bacon and Spinach quiche which was amazing! Cristina had the Chicken salad that came with a cucumber salad. She said it was awesome! I would come back just to the cucumber salad! You don't just visit Mita's--you experience it. Well done! If you're ever in Corsicana, Mita's Coffee House is a must-stop destination.

We walked in and it was a good sized bakery that was well lit, bright, with plenty of places to sit. There was a variety of fresh baked breads, muffins, pies, as well as other things to choose from. I wanted a sandwich so I went up to the counter. The person working there was nice. She gave me a few minutes to decide what I wanted. I placed my order, paid, and waited for my name to be called. After about 10 minutes my name was called, I grabbed my order and we were off. As far as the food goes it was delicious. I ordered the Petite Turkey Cranberry Sandwich which comes with turkey, lettuce, apple, cream cheese and honey drizzle. It was the perfect size for traveling and didn't leave me overly full. Overall, Collin Street Bakery was a good place to stop with a clean atmosphere, friendly staff, and several bakery food options.

I love pecan pie but nobody in my family does so when I get a chance to get a slice, I do. I was so excited to take my first bite. It was so nasty. Since we had already left I couldn't get my money back. In the trash they went.
