Rick France was a godsend; he looked over the car thoroughly, explained things in layman's terms (I know NOTHING about cars), and went through the estimate. To be fair, the estimate was around $3300, which was more than half of what I paid for it to begin with. He could see I was visibly upset and gave me some great advice, which was to list it on craigslist as a car that could be rebuilt, rather than sell it to a chop shop which wouldn't pay more than a few hundred. Rick even went so far as to check to see if someone he knew (who was looking for a fixer upper for his daughter) would be interested. You don't get that kind of service many places). In the end, I placed it on craigslist and had two interested buyers within an hour. Ultimately, I ended up trading it in for 2k at a dealership which I put towards a new car.
