My favorite view the beautiful cabins they had!

My husband and I and kids enjoyed everything in this campsite OASIS! So many things to do there. And props to the cook a homemade breakfast pizza! We never tried that, and now my taste buds will always be craving that! The homemade donuts we had were amazing too! ALSO a very clean and up kept place. We really recommend this awesome place. Thank you all for this experience!

Excellent campground. Lots of big mature trees offering lots of shade. Restrooms and showers are very clean with staff cleaning them twice daily. Don't even have to leave the campground to keep the kids entertained as there is a lake for fishing, a huge trampoline, pool and hot tub, game room, and mini golf. The general store provides snacks and anything you might have forgotten at home. Pay laundry machines on site. Owners live on the property and are always out and about. This is not a critique and not something the facility can help, but the soil is very sandy, so be prepared for a bit of a mess in your tent, camper or cabin. Close proximity to wineries, breweries and beaches.

Some sites have patios and patio furniture.

We stayed here for two nights as a stop over on the way to Mackinac Island. The campground had a very modern clubhouse/store. They will even make and deliver pizza to your campsite. There are many things to do for families, kids and even couples. Hiking, volleyball, bikes, heated pool, jumping pad, are just a few of the amenities. They welcome pets. If you don't have a camper they have some cabins to rent, too. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because the sites are pretty close together. We had a pull through and it was a tight turn getting in and out navigating through trees and other occupied sites. It was still quiet private. The campground is 0.5 miles from the exit ramp off the interstate, so if you are making an overnight stop you won't drive far out of your way. There are plenty of trees to buffer the sound although I did hear a train somewhere now and th

Made a visit to Koa on June 15, 2020. Stayed in cabin #2. Woke up in the middle of the night covered in bed bugs. Showed owner proof on my phone of videos and pictures, apparently that is not enough proof since no evidence was found the next day. Was told he would just bomb the cabin himself and did not seem interested in calling a professional to come in. Enter at your own risk!

Here is a cabin, bug filled and a little gross.

Sunny Brook crossed our radar so we booked 3 nights at an owners site. As life would have it, we need to cut our trip short for a family (eldery parents) situation for 2 nights, instead of 3, at Sunny Brook. Elaine explained to us, very firmly and matter of factly, that they will nor refund or give consideration for the 3rd night. As avid RVers, I find that odd. We are not in the habit of reducing our trips or canceling but, I find the matter of fact-Ness and non consideration unappealing.

We prefer not knowing our next door camper neighbor's business. I was looking for a campground to stay at for the weekend. But, every public campground was booked till October. I happened to stubble on Kal-Haven Outpost in a google search and this place was way better than I expected. The owners are a young couple who juggle their business and their little children simultaneously. But, they do their best being focused and attentive to their customer. They answer all my questions and always return phone calls (when I attempted to call them and they were busy). Our spot was in a wooded area and was about 50-75 feet away from the next door campers. Our campsite had a fire ring, tent area and picnic table. The bathhouse is accessible for everyone staying at Kal-Haven. The bathrooms were extremely clean and awesome. So much nicer than any other campgrounds I have stayed at. And there are very nice showers with a bench and hooks for hanging clothes and towel. I would recommend this place to everyone in a heartbeat! New, clean and nicest place ever! And I love the office/store/gift shop!

I rented here because the reviews online that I had read were better than good, but when I really dug into other review sites once I returned home, other than where I booked from, I found a completely different story. I want to make sure that there is a fair recommendation out there for people to really make up their mind on whether or not they should stay here. First, I do want to mention that the owners were very polite to us and we have no issue with them. Also, there is a charm to these old-style motel rooms including the beautiful tile in the bathrooms. Additionally, there are new entry doors with digital locks as well as new windows. And true, this place is serene and great if you like peace and quiet - but still, there are many additional things to take into consideration. Although the rooms appear nice in the pictures, there are still issues like water damaged ceilings, water damaged bathroom doors, leaky tub fixtures (which were also way out of date and require replacing), drywall that needs to be retaped and mudded as well as a musty smell to the rooms that don't show up in pictures. One of the two rooms had bugs, but not because the room was dirty and I'm not talking cock roaches, just bugs. The reason? The wall air conditioner is not sealed on the sides and bugs get in through the outside vent, and then through the side panels that are not sealed against the air conditioner. There were also some inconsistencies like one of the rooms had a microwave, one didn't. One had information about your stay, one didn't. There is no coffee maker or ironing board in the room, but you could ask at the front desk to use these items (listed in the information about the room) we did not, we might have used these items had they been in the room, but since it was not readily available, we just made other arrangements. Again, I really want to be fair here - but these basic amenities plus others like ice were not available to us. Additionally, there was no pool, there was no breakfast. The thing that is really agitating and I think that is important for travelers to know is that there is NOTHING here that justifies the room rates and just because it is in South Haven doesn't justify the price. The weekend before and as a part of this trip, we stayed in a Comfort Inn and Suites that had a nice, comfortable, up to date room, with an indoor pool and included breakfast for $120.00 per room per night in the Wisconsin Dells. For what I paid at Jensen's, it feels like we stayed in a dump.

I came here really excited and ready to hike, but visiting in the summertime meant dealing with an unbelievable number of mosquitoes. I expected bugs, but I have never seen anything like this!
