I had been specifically referred by my Primary Care Physician as I have diabetic eye. I took appointment of today of 3 pm and my Physician office faxed the referral. I work near downtown Detroit and the clinic is at Sterling Heights. I work full time and have to squeeze in time for health appointments. As no where it has been mentioned that the clinic is inside the Corwell Hospital, I had to drive around the Dequinder Road a number of times despite following GPS. I took leave from work to reach early and called the Doctor office about my appointment time . I somehow reached the Eye Care after a lot of moving around the entire Hospital. I reached by 3:11pm and the receptionist at first declined to acknowledge that a referral has been sent. She stated that she asked the Doctor and he said that I should take another day in most discourteous manner , apparently, making the Patient feel that ' Doctor is doing a favor to me and doing free social service'. I do not want to give anyone an opinion to try to consult this particular University Eye Care Center as Patients are only going to go through an intimidating process of the ' Very High Headed' Office Staff on the receiving desk. I am going find out a better and refined Eye Care Center and now go for Diabetic Eye Exam and Eye Lens test.

Looking forward to seeing clearly again, I go back in about a week to have my eyes "Measured" before my scheduled surgeries and so far I thought the staff was outstanding, thorough, I left there feeling as though I picked a very reputable eye care clinic for my needs! My eye got poor vision, got astigmatism and began to tingle and tear. Dr. Joshua Vrabec redid that surgery. He is super professional. As physicist by education, I can say that his office has most modern optical instruments. I got perfect vision and stopped feeling any pain on the same day! My recovery time was just a couple of days compared to 6 weeks recovery from other cataract surgery with the other doctor. I heard Dr Vrabec say three times that "I don't know if I can do this." How ever he tried to push a lens in damaging my Iris. I went to Corwell Hospital Eye Insitute and Dr Gupta fixed the damage and put in a lens. Dr Vrabec will give his usual excuse and blame the patient but this will be determined by a malpractice law suit.

I told her that I learned more in one visit (for my son, not even an appt for myself) then I have learned in many years seeing other eye doctors. dr. Johnny absolutely takes time to explain everything to you about your eyes. I have been seeing another eye doctor and paying out of pocket for a reevaluation every year. Dr. Johnny said that that diagnosis/solution (prism) RARELY EVER CHANGES, so I don't need to keep going back and having it evaluated and paying hundreds of dollars. Holy crap! He also explained what macular degeneration is and what causes it. My blonde son with light blue eyes needs to be wearing a baseball hat and sunglasses as often as possible to prevent it in his old age. So those are just two examples of fantastic helpful friendly information I got in one hour. Not to mention, the staff is so nice and helpful. My husband and I both got awesome frames that we love and get lots of compliments on. (and by the way, just now my husband had an issue with his friends and they fixed it quickly and no problem!!!)
