Over…read morethe years we have benefited from the skills of talented clinicians, each of whom I've been forever grateful for. Dr. Hernz is a gentle man who embodies peace and kindness. He is funny, but more than anything he conveys to his patients his fervent desire for them to feel better, and that he is on the same team as them. It's amazing what a transformative effect that has on a teenager. For example, on a recent visit, the NMT was being, well, a teen. Sullen, silent, maddeningly obstinate. He went into session staring at the ceiling and ignoring everything Dr. Hernz said, every attempt to start a conversation was met with a glare then a look away. Fun stuff. After about 10 minutes (really, I timed it) Dr. Hernz calmly turns to me and says "So, what have you noticed?" I began to share my observations, the NMT got up, walked out. OK. Then, five minutes later, he walks back in and...starts talking. Engages. Wow. Then Dr. Hernz tells him again, he's there to help him, he really wants him to feel better. My son, he looks at his doctor and says "I'm really sorry for walking out. I needed a moment but that was rude." Shut the front door. Dr. Hernz took it in stride, and they continued working. Other good things: Appointments are always on time, or within 5 minutes of scheduled time. Receipts are sent promptly within a day of the session. 95% of the time prescriptions are sent electronically, and this is done promptly. The imperfect: I don't always get a same-day response to email, it's usually a day or two. Occasionally prescriptions are not sent over promptly, as in sent within a day or two. Messages left for him are returned, sometimes same day, sometimes within a day or two. It's a graceful pace of administration. Also, no surprises, he does not participate with any insurance carrier. This is not surprising, it's rare to find a psychiatrist who does, they are a nationally underserved medical specialty, and especially in child psychiatry, there are far too few of them available, period. The good part of that is that his fees are reasonable, so the amount over what our insurance plan covers is fairly small. If you can't guess by the time you got here, YES I would recommend him. He's wonderful.

I visited this practice 6 months ago so that one of the doctors could take a look at one of my toes. I had previously had an issue with another toe, and I thought maybe another one was coming down with the same issue. He looked at the toe, gave me the all clear, and offered to trim my nails since I'd recently undergone hip surgery and had a hard time reaching my nails to trim them. A few weeks later, I received a bill for this visit. MY share of the services, after my insurance paid its portion, was $177.42. I knew there had to be a mistake...$177 for a toe trim and a 5-minute visit?? I called and was told someone would return my call. When they didn't, a week later I called again and was told the doctor said he had performed a nail plate avulsion, which I've since found out would have required a needle and the removal of all or some of my nail. I offered to take a photo of my nail or to come to the office to show them that I still had my nail and it was never removed. I was told that wouldn't be necessary and they'd check with the doctor again. Again I was told that the doctor did in fact perform this "procedure". I'd like to think that they confused me with another patient and they aren't trying to scam Medicare. My new doctor told me that he can see that my toe nail was never fully or partially removed. Needless to say, I will NEVER return to or recommend this practice to anyone.

Living in Miami, started having these incredible headaches that would deform my face, I've never had migraines so started by going to the dentist thinking it was a tooth. Went to a dentist, nose, ear & throat doctor, well, after all ended up in a neurologist wanting to operate my head to figure out what was wrong. I was spending over $5000 a month and was drugged out under Percocet, Lyrica, Maltex and other medications I don't remember or can even pronounce. The headaches never left. Moved to PA, went to see FERY my hero. This doctor took away all Meds with her treatment. She saved me. Till date there's been no more headaches, after all it was just a pinched nerve between my neck & shoulder. I've tried everything I was told to do without any relief. I was convinced it was something else - so I went to this office for a second opinion. It's Penn right - it has to be good. I had a good experience in the office & felt like they took me seriously & gave me a thorough exam. They confirmed nothing was wrong - and it was dry eye giving me the blurred vision. I left & continued the drops & night gel & still nothing works And i continue to have severely blurred vision. 2 more months & I couldn't stand it & looked for a third opinion & made an appointment with Wills Eye 2000 Hamilton Street in Philadelphia. I saw a Dr. Harris - who within 5 minutes into examining me said - you have mild dry eye - which absolutely is not the cause of your problem. An hour later after many tests I was properly diagnosed with posterior capsule opacification (PCO) & am scheduled for a YAG laser capsulotomy next week. It's a quick outpatient procedure for a fairly common problem that should restore my vision. Thank you 2000 Hamilton Wills Eye. Penn Eye Media - you had a big miss here.

The dentist also, told us that my son needed a rooth canal in one of his theet, and gave us a treatment plan for a ceramic crown that was meant to be placed after the root canal gets done. After the visit, they demand me to pay half of the ceramic crown that wasn't even started! I told them I can't pay that money af we didn't get the crown done. They insist that we needed to pay half of the money that day as the thoot was cleaned and they had placed a cap which really, came off the same day. I ended paying a lot mof money out o my pocket wich made me very upset. This year, my son got his rooth canal and the ceramic crown in another place, however, Media Dental is insisting in billing me foor the ceramic crown and also, submitting a claim to my insurance. I tried to speak wiht the supervisor but, never call me back, I sent them a letter through a lawyer but they ignore it. I am preparing a formal complain for charging for a treatment they haven't done, and for all the stress they has caused me due to the harrasment they are doing, sending constant threats to put me in collection agency.
