We just moved into a (new to us) home in Burrillville. I have never heated a house with propane…read morebefore so I had a lot of questions and Eastern Propane was the most welcoming on the phone taking a lot of time to answer questions that they probably get all the time. They went above and beyond to deal with a situation at our house that required the tanks to be moved and the insufficient copper runs (installed by the house flippers) to get completely replaced. They handled dealing with the town inspector and even dropped off a temporary tank to make sure we had no disruption to hot water while everything got figured out. I was very happy with how thorough they were to make sure everything was up to code and handled as "pretty" as two large tanks can be :) When I was shopping around I found that the prices at Eastern Propane were considerably cheaper than the previous chosen company the previous owner (flipper) had chosen. Akin to highway robbery if you ask me. I've met the delivery driver a few times and he also is very pleasant and welcoming. I feel like I'm in good hands and happy to be a customer!

Just ran out of Oil, with the new furnaces you cannot prime the pump yourself. Stuck in limbo and they want payment due on site, what kind of heating company cannot bill their customers??? Wrightington's Gas

I recently relocated to Kingston and was approached by several propane companies eager to gain me…read moreas a new customer. I discovered that my current provider, Wrightington Gas, had three tanks and four regulators installed on my property. To address safety concerns regarding our new mini-split systems, which would be situated near an ignition source, I contacted Wrightington and three other companies for quotes on moving the tanks. During an assessment, Kevin from Wrightington asserted that fitting a 250-gallon tank in my desired location was not feasible. He suggested minor modifications to current fittings and indicated that since the tanks were nearly empty, relocating them was timely. He mentioned that I would need to level the area and assist with the move, including digging the trench. Although he promised to return within a few days to complete the work, he did not provide any clarification on pricing. I interpreted this as an effort to retain my business, considering the task seemed manageable. When I raised concerns about the messy connections at the back of the house, Kevin dismissed them as insignificant, despite the fact that he had caused the disarray. It was evident that he was unwilling to rectify the situation using appropriate black iron piping, and no further discussion took place on this issue. In the meantime, I received two out of three quotes from other propane companies. The lowest was approximately $1,500, which covered the installation of a 250-gallon tank--despite Kevin's claim that it could not fit--as well as obtaining a permit and fixing the disorganized copper connections at the rear of the house. I informed one of these companies that I would hire them in the spring to address the copper issue, but since Wrightington was already tasked with moving the tank, I opted to proceed with their services. After their work was completed, I continued to smell gas. Upon notifying them, they returned to fix a leak they had created. Following the tank refill, I received an invoice totaling over $1,900. I immediately contacted Wrightington to express that I had been quoted $1,500 for the entire job, which included installing and leveling the 250-gallon tank, installing a new regulator, removing three unnecessary regulators, and replacing the copper connections with black iron. In summary, their charges were more than double the competitive rate, amounting to over $180 per hour for labor. This is an excessive amount given the straightforward nature of the work. While I reluctantly agreed to pay a reduced amount, I feel I was taken advantage of, especially since I felt trapped after the tanks were refilled. I am committed to finding a new propane provider as soon as the weather permits and will be pursuing a complaint with small claims court as well as the Better Business Bureau, where numerous customers have voiced similar concerns. A review of their accreditation status and customer feedback on platforms like Yelp confirms a troubling pattern of dissatisfaction among their clients.

We have been loyal customers of Wrightington Propane for over 13 years, always paying the bill…read morewithin days of the delivery. The delivery guys are great, very personable, answering any questions we may have. A member of the office staff, Patty, however, is in serious need of an education about what Customer Service is all about! On, April 5, 2023, after realizing the automatic delivery had not come, I checked the gauge on the tank and discovered we were down to 3%. My wife called the office, told them what was going on, and Patty told us they would be there either that afternoon or the next morning. No one in the afternoon and no one by 10 AM on the 6th. A follow up call to the office resulted in a bunch of excuses: the older tanks held more than the gauge indicates; we'll have enough propane to last until next week (7 days!). Patty was extremely nasty about the whole business. After a proper dressing down, we got a call from her saying we would get our delivery in 1 to 1 1/2 hours. It was more than 2 hours before the propane was delivered (by Justin-he's wonderful!). What solidified our decision to shift to another company, in addition to her attitude was the fact that not once in all the interaction did Patty, or anyone from Wrightington call to apologize for the horrible treatment we received. When a customer calls, greatly concerned that they may run out of propane, you don't argue with them, you get right on it and arrange for a delivery. That did not happen here and we would not recommend WGI to anyone.
