Brought my Ariens snowblower differential gear into the shop for inspection for wear. The forward/reverse action was slipping and thought, based on Youtube videos, that this part may be the reason. The mechanic looked at it and didn't think this was the problem, he suggested to look at the sprocket bushings, a common failure item. Turned out it was the bushings ($6 part). Saved me the expense of the differential part ($160 part). Good to know that they are not looking to sell you expensive parts that are not the problem. Ditch Home Depot, ditch Lowe's, and ditch the web. I walked in here on Saturday to a moderate crowd that the staff seemed to be handling quite well. I walked around looking at what I needed (string trimmer and a mower) until a member of staff was available to help me. He was informative, knew his stuff, and when I tried to buy a more expensive can of premix he told me it wasn't worth it and to go with the one right below it. Yes you will be paying more than the box stores but the reason is that you get a better quality machine for what you pay. The box stores may carry Honda and Husqvarna, even Echo too but they get them with inferior components (Lowe's Husqvarna trimmers come with Toro shafts). Do your research and you'll find that spending an extra what, $50? Will save you much more in repairs, down time, and eventual replacement of the machines. read more

This is the year I committed to purchasing a snowblower and, since relocating to the south shore, received a couple recommendations to contact Morrison's. So on New Year's Eve I called and chatted with a gentleman by the name of Scott. From start to finish in dealing with Morrison's, I experienced the utmost professionalism, product knowledge expertise, superior customer service, and the satisfaction of knowing I've found a local equipment store I can rely on for future purchases and advice. My initial conversation with Scott was great. He answered all questions I had and made unbiased suggestions based on my individual needs. This conversation made me jump in the car to get down to meet with him. Scott was busy providing another fortunate customer with the undivided attention I experienced over the phone, so Jeff introduced himself to me and assisted with additional questions I had. Much like Scott, Jeff knew his stuff and also questioned my situation. He helped me make a final decision but did not steer me in any particular direction. He gave me all information I needed to make the decision. Following purchase, the machine was scheduled for delivery and arrived on time. Bill showed up with a gassed, oiled, and primed snowblower. He took his time in teaching me overall operation and provided tips for efficiency. Like Scott and Jeff before him, Bill provided the superior customer service and focused on me and any questions I had. I make a point to write honest reviews to help others in making decisions. Called to see if they service Troy-Bilt lawnmowers. They do. I asked if i could drop by in an hour for a spring tuneup. They said yes. Drove from Hingham (40 minutes with traffic), only to have them tell me I needed an appointment, and their next available was two weeks away. Do yourself a favor and choose another place for service if you need a quick turnaround. Or even a moderate-time turnaround. read more

Absolutely the most unprofessional operation I have encountered My neighbor and I went in on a compost spreader rental to top spread our large lawns. This is the only place around to rent one. My neighbor called 4 days ago to reserve it and we both had our compost delivered before so we would have it ready. He shows up to pick it up and "we sold it", what? "Sorry, someone should have called you". But they never did and now we have to spend a day spreading it by hand or hire someone to do it. Compost spreaders can't be rented at other rental shops so we are strewed. I will never do business with them again and go out of my way to spread the word about this operation and their disregard for their customers. read more

Only gave one star because I had to! This is the second time we have gone to Morrison's Power Equipment since they opened and it WILL BE THE LAST TIME. When they first opened we brought our John Deer lawn mower to be serviced and being the end of the summer season still had to wait over a month for it to be returned. I thought it was because maybe they are just a new business learning the ropes. Regardless, right away my husband went to mow our lawn and to our disgust and frustration it sounded worse than when he brought it in. My husband called right away and the reply was," You can bring it in and we can take a look at it." Really??? Needless to say we have gone to a John Deer dealer in Raynham and it has been a 5 star service of excellence every since. Meanwhile, since we have lived in Plymouth for over 35 years and drive right by Morrision's each day; are loyal patrons to the Morrison's Garden Center for just as many years we thought we would give the power equipment store another try. This time it was our Echo Leaf Blower. The blower is just 5 years old my husband felt it was time to bring it in for a service tune up as it was running little rough. I admit it was May which is well into the start of the landscaping season, yet he was told two weeks. Well two turned into three then four and finally my husband made is weekly call and was told the blower was no good and it was their recommendation that he buy a new one or they could probably get it running for around $200 dollars!!!! My husband was furious, he went down to get the plower and they had the nerve to charged him a $38 dollar "diagnostic fee". And it still gets better, they gave it to him all taken apart - yes completely a pile of pieces. I repeat hundreds of pieces in a big baggie!!!!!! REALLY!!!!!??? He was so upset he took it and left. When we dropped it off it was in working order just needing a tune up. So once again, we brought our piece of power equipment - now literally in pieces to another power equipment service provider - not in Plymouth - and after three days we had our Echo blower back with one new spark plug, a carberator and new filters for $60.00 total (parts and labor in this amount). Happy to report it is working fine back to its old self after a simple tune up which is why it was brought in to Morrisons in the first place!! Morrison's Power Equipment you should be ashamed. And Scott you can only run on a family name for so long as this type of "0" service will catch up to you. One very dissatisfied customer! read more

I went into Morrison's today to buy a generator for my business, to power a rollforming gutter machine. I'd purchased another brand of generator that didn't work at all. Deciding that I needed to do it right and buy a Honda, I went to Morrison's. I was apprehensive about purchasing the generator without knowing it would power my machine, as the other generator exceeded the specifications of the rollformer and did not work. The man behind the counter took the Honda generator out to my trailer with me and we fired it up. The Honda performed like a champ and I bought it. The price was probably $100 higher than buying online, but now I have a place to get it serviced if I needed that, and you should always support your local businesses as long as they do a great job. The Morrison's employee was very helpful and I'm glad I bought it there instead of some online store. read more

I only saw one review on here for this business and it was negative. I had to give my two cents. The repair facility for small engine is excellent and all they sell are high quality machines such as husquvarna and toro. I don't give them 5 star because the shop is pricey. You get what you pay for. I tried circumventing them with home depot, land of the idiots. I would recommend this business if you want to buy high quality and are willing to pay for it. I went to Morrisons Power Shop last weekend at the beginning of our first real storm for the winter. The reason why I was in there was because our just purchased snow blower (not purchased at Morrison's) would not start. I first called in a panic to see if they could help. The gentleman who answered the phone walked me through a couple of steps for us to try to get it going. We tried those steps and they unfortunately didn't work. I called back and spoke with another gentleman who said to bring it down and they will look at it for us. We rushed down as the snow was starting to really come down. The staff was absolutely WONDERFUL. I can't thank them enough. I wish I took everyone's name down. They all were extremely helpful, fixed the snow blower and got us back in action. I was so impressed and am forever thankful. Most times we spend our days complaining about service, but I really felt it was important to share my experience with Morrisons staff as it was TOP NOTCH~! Thank you sooo much, snow blower worked great and only 51 more days till Spring... Kudos to the staff!!! read more

The problem was not adding enough 2 stroke oil to the gas, but a bad waist pin, a new piston set cost $29.00 (on eBay) and took me ~ 1hour to install. Also the spark plug was bad (no spark, had it tested), put a new one in for $3.79 from the local hardware store. The piston cylinder had no damage, honed it just to soften the metal so the piston ring would seal. Someone in business for 34 years with training from the manufacturer should have know this. It cost more for Morrison's to look at it and NOT fix it, then it did for me to fix it. read more
