I would have given a zero rating if that exists. Left my Honda civic car for service at this location for vibration issue at idling. They gave the report back that they are not able to recreate the issue but the vibration still exists. Also they made a huge crack in the windshield during service and saying it is rock chip and didn't happen in the showroom. Went to show room thrice but no service manager or GM is present there to speak on the issue. Worst experience in my entire life. read more

I always deal with a small family owned shop and use the dealer for parts and alignments. Airbag light came on in my accord. My mechanic was changing my tires over for winter and I told him about it. He pulled out a scan tool and scanned it to get a couple trouble codes. At this point he told me to properly address this issue I need to have the honda dealer perform an airbag inflator test as my two codes read first inflator short to power and SRS module. To fix this he told me to not just replace the srs module but to have the dealer do the inflator test to first determine what the issue was that caused the module to fail in the first place. So here is what happened next and this is the review and above is the backstory on this issue. I booked my apt waiting 1 week to bring my car in the shop. I should point out to be clear everything here I say is going to sound like complaining but it is just fact what took place I will let my reader be the judge of this as you can see I feel it is worth one star. I took my car in at 8:30 am and was told to a couple things one it was getting left until up to 5:30 pm and my cost was going to be $154 and change. I went over what the car was in for and back story as stated above. I spoke at this point of the inflator test that was needed so I could learn if my issue is airbag related or wiring related. The service advisor told me that mechanics are good for some things but the technicians at Honda are good for specific issues. I get a call at 3:45pm explaining that the technicians got into some other stuff and behind and was it ok to leave my car overnight so I agreed right away to that. The last thing I want is a rush job at the end of the day. I own two cars so I simply just drove my other car no problem. The next day at about 11:15 am I get a call from the service advisor. she said "your car was scanned by our technician and two codes came up then the codes were cleared. You can drive your car and if the airbag light comes back on you can bring it back to us for another apt and we will have another look. I then spoke of the inflator test not thinking to myself that if codes were clear they likely could not do the test but in anycase the advisor told me that she did not know that test and they did not have that equipment. She offered then to sell me a new inflator and srs unit. I got upset and decided to contact the service manager about this. After talking to him by e-mail he confirmed his techs were aware of the inflator test but unless the codes came back they were at a standstill. After complaining and getting the service managers attention I was told if I left the car for the afternoon the tech could test drive it to see if the airbag light came back on. I been driving for months with it on so I fully expected it would take little effort to see it come back on and sure enough it did. I get a video text of my car with the tech walking around it with a quote of 863 dollars to replace the srs module. I call the service advisor and she says one code came back the SRS module code but not the other code that other code she is talking about is a short to power first inflator code which appears to be the crux of my issue and why I am at the dealer in the first place. So from here I decline the service to replace this srs module. The service advisor told me these modules just fail and it was a good price to replace it some are 1400 and mine was 363 so that means they want 500 for labor to change it? OK I am trying to not comment but will below. $154 at first without my complaining was for a 40 second scan time. Now to the dealers defense the codes cleared our service manual told us to end it here. OK fine but is it ethical to still say this was to be charged for 154 that is a full hour labor. I complained and got the technican to give it a second go run the car rescan. On my bill it shows the first scan at 154 then the second scan and road test for 0 and when I paid the advisor was showing me what I great deal I got she said we are not changing you for the afternoon. read more

I bought a brand new civic and had break problem within 6 months. Then, had to argue with the manager to service the breaks ( but not on my dime). Finally he had to admit it and let me go without charging and now I have break issues again. I found out from a friend that works at a honda dealership that there is a memo for the break which states that if the customer does not say anything but you see that the routers and pads need changing , then do not tell them, until they complain. Knowing that their pads were defective. Then calling the "non service" department... like calling angry people. Will not return your call and then question you if you tell them that as to why they never called back... Overall terrible service. I will never buy another car from them . read more

I called for a price to replace 4 spark plugs on my 2014 CRV. They said we do plugs and valve adjustment for $510.00 plus tax. I don't care! Price on 4 plugs installed please? $250.00. Okay, how much are the plugs? $30.00 each. I can get 4 NGK Lazer Iridium from Car Quest for $80.00 TAX INCL. Well those aren't factory original I was told. Holy shit! Honda doesn't make spark plugs I know that for a fact. So why string me a line of crap? Obviously You Tube has a nice 4 minute video on changing plugs on a CRV. So I'll save myself over $200.00 by doing it myself (with a smile!) Don't care to be upsold when I specifically ask a question and don't get the RIGHT answer. People do this all the time!!!!! read more

We used to have full trust with getting our old Honda Fit serviced here and did so for over 10 years. There has been a very different feel and quality of service in the last year with our new Fit. They are always trying to up sell services that aren't needed. Not impressed. read more

Although we leased our Honda from another dealer across the Bridge on the Dartmouth side, we take our Honda to Colonial for any work that it needs. After all, it is within walking distance from our home. The service is awesome, from friendly, efficient call to book an appointment to the service reps who facilitate the visit and the valets who park the cars....I've never heard a strong word or had anything less than a wonderful experience. If you don't want to wait, you can get a lift to wherever (within reason, I imagine). I've definitely had someone drop me off and come to get me when the weather was bad. Freshly brewed coffee, giant flat screen TV, Internet & computer access, comfy chairs to relax and while away the time if you choose to wait for the work to get done. All in all...it's a great experience. read more

Definitely never buy tires here. Absolutely no warrantee on them. Bought brand new winter tires and 2 months later I had a flat. Can't be repaired as somehow I have a cut through the wall. Even a repair would not have been free but now I have to buy q brand new tire and will cost over $160. Canadian tire has a 5yr coverage for damage from road hazards. So word of caution - they give absolutely no garuntee even for brand new tires!!!! read more

Okay here's something to know about me: I love my Honda Element. Here's something else: I loved the Honda dealership where I purchased said Honda Element. So much so that I never took it anywhere else the 6 years I drove it back home. That being said, I had some high expectations when I made my appointment with Colonial Honda shortly after having driven across the entire country of Canada from WA state a few months ago. I'm giving this review 2 stars because since visiting this location I've tried out the other Honda Dealership (in Dartmouth) and can honestly say I've experienced better. I'm not even sure what it was that was lacking at this location. I felt the customer service was sub par and when someone tells you that they have every receipt since the day you drove it off the lot at least let me know you understand how much I love my car. I'm not asking you to pop open a bottle of champagne but just a slight nod of the head and a "great, we'll take a look if we need". Something... Anything... I didn't get a chance to check out the waiting area because the one upside to Colonial is that it's within walking distance of my home but even after the short interaction with the service area I didn't want to stick around. It was a simple oil change but I'm used to Honda telling me how things look with tires, brakes, yada yada yada. This experience? Nothing. Handed me some paper work then sent me on my way. The final "ugh, I hope the other place is better" was when I got in my car and there wasn't the small (yet important) extra step of having that sticker in my windshield that told me when to get my next oil change... I'm not saying this place is horrible and you shouldn't go there. I've talked with some other people and in their experiences everything went well. I just love my car so dang much and I want to feel like where I take my car for service understands that love... read more

Well - since everyone is talking about Colonial Honda I will jump in. After my car got totalled in a highway accident, I had to get a new car - quick! I went to a variety of dealerships over a 2 day period and this one left a terrible taste in my mouth. It took forever for someone to acknowledge me, then when a sales agent did, he wouldnt leave me alone. I felt badgered beyond the norm. I decided to take a car out for a test drive and he insisted upon joining me. I have never had an agent jump in the car with me and I found it awkward and I literally went around the block and said I didnt like the car. After leaving, I received 3 phone calls from the same agent who clearly didnt pick up on my vibe or the fact that I said I didnt like the car. Was pumped when I went to Steele Hyundai and they were normal with me! read more

Its a nice little Honda dealership. They have a nice waiting room with a TV and guest wifi. Came here to get my tires, and oil changed. Also got the free full check up on the breaks and a car inspection. (Estimated wait time 2hours) The service department guys are friendly and easy to talk too. Had a nice conversation with the guy at the desk about cleaning my car. They gave me 4 options on tires for my car, and had them shipped in 1 day later. I was able to make an appointment to replace my old tires just 2 days after. The waiting room had water and hand sanitizer. They also have a little gift/parts shop. You can buy honda gear and even nhl team hats. read more

I bought my Honda Civic brand new from this dealership in 2012. I went to service my car from this dealership perhaps only twice. Why? The folks in service department are unfriendly bunch of people (they do not even talk with a friendly smile on their face). They are also rude. If you ask a question, they will make a face giving you the feeling you are asking a stupid question and should know the answer yourself. They also overprice the parts and service. Perhaps they are living in the old world where customers used to have very little information. I live in Halifax, but I started going to Portland Honda in Dartmouth for servicing. Service folks there are friendly and make you feel you are important (they do not roll their eyes as folks at Colonial do). Their pricing is also reasonable. read more

I have leased two vehicles from this dealership. Very happy with the Honda quality- not our dealership experience. When our most recently leased vehicle was coming to the end of the lease no one from the dealership contacted us to discuss options.I finally got the original salesperson to return my call and set up a time to meet with him to discuss options. We were pretty sure we were going to buy out the lease but were willing to look at newer models. When I was meeting with the salesperson a Colonial Honda, a very tanned, obnoxious guy in a suit came up, introduced himself and asked if my salesperson was doing a good job and if he should be fired?! Are you kidding me?!. I take it this was the sales manager or even dealership manager. Way to make a customer uncomfortable and undermine your employee buddy....Also, several days after the meeting, my wife got a personal-sounding, late-night text from the Colonial Honda sales manager saying she'd been in and what could they do to "earn her business". This kind of creeped my wife out and she was wondering why this strange dude was texting her at 11:30 on a Saturday night.The message was incorrect as it was me that had been in. We later found out that it was an automated message but still. Texting is a pretty personal way to communicate. And it also told us that there wasn't communication between the sales staff and the sales manager. We clearly communicated with the sales person that we were going to keep the leased vehicle not buy a new one. We decided to buy out the lease. The sales person was supposed to hand us off to someone who would give us info on the process. We never got a call from anyone. I ended up having to call Honda Canada directly to get info on the process. And in the end basically had to hound the salesperson until we got someone's number. The salesperson also omitted that there was a close to $400 "dealer fee" for us to purchase the vehicle which we learned at the last minute. This fee basically covers the dealer's time to do paperwork for you to buy a leased car. This felt like a cash grab to me and I would have purchased directly from Honda Canada if possible. I wrote an email to our original salesperson about our unhappiness about this fee and never heard back. I felt like once they knew we weren't going to buy a new car they stopped providing any kind of service. This is despite my having been repeat customers. This seems pretty short-sighted to me. I will not come back to this or any Steele Honda dealership. read more

Very disappointed with my service at this dealership. Their policy on shuttle service is bizarre and possibly random making it no policy at all. They could not verify a basic sound on the vehicle because there was no indicator light and they require a full vehicle diagnostic to explain what my basic knowledge of cars told them was wrong with it. There was zero follow up after repairs were complete to let me know how things went and future items to think about. I felt that there was no pride of service and I was just a number - give me the money and goodbye. This is less than second rate service. As an update - I have lost all belief and loyalty to this service department. I hope that the new owners will improve things. In the meantime, I will only trust Portland Street Honda with any and all car services. I'd rather go across the bridge than drive the 4 km to Colonial. read more

After receiving an invitation to check out the new 2017 Honda Civic, I met with Aaron Zinck the saleperson at Colonial Honda. I made it clear to her that I still owed 24 months on my current 2014 Honda Civic and would like to consider my options should I decide to trade my current car. I also advised her that my income for the year is less than $24,000, which limits my ability to pay off my current car and be able to upgrade. Aaron told me my trade in value was $10,000 and gave me a quote. I provided a couple of other scenarios asking if I decided not to use my car to trade in and if I gave a certain amount of money as a down payment. The quotes I assumed considered my present lien to be factored in. I was told my payments would be within my ability to upgrade and a time was set up to complete the deal. This occurred on June 29, 2017 and a payment was taken from my account in July. I assumed this was because my purchase was made the second last day of the month and this would be applied to my next payment. In August I checked my online banking to discover I had two payments taken from my account - one for my 2014 car and the other for my 2017. These withdrawals almost depleted my savings account that I use to live on. I called Aaron to ask why I was still making two payments as I understood my previous lien would have been calculated into my new purchased as I had asked. She said she didn't know and would call me back after speaking with the Financial Adviser, Adam Prosser. She did not return my call and I went to the dealership and met with the Financial Manager who confirmed that my previous lien was not factored into my new purchase. I had sold my 2014 Honda Civic to my brother and the transfer had taken place shortly after my purchase of the 2017 Honda. I had no idea there was an outstanding lien on my 2014 car and my brother would have been responsible for the $7,00,00 outstanding should something happened to me. It would, also, be illegal to do such a transaction. This is another issue - the sales person was aware of the lien and knew I was selling it and she chose to not tell me. When I contacted Honda Head Office in Markam they advised me to write to the General Manager. I did this and he sent me an email and apologized for the "confusion" as he called it. Aaron took no responsibility for knowingly leaving me with the cost of two vehicles. As I stated earlier, I told Aaron that I received only a small pension each month and I have a house mortgage along with the bills that come with owning a home. I am a senior as well. I will have to deplete my small savings to pay off my lien. I have dealt with this dealership for my last three vehicles and up until this incident received good service. This will be the last time I will have anything to do with this dealership. My advice to anyone dealing with this company - get a second opinion and avoid sales people who do not know how to treat customers. I trust this dealership will oversee any sales initiated by Aaron and no one else will have to be faced with the treatment I received. read more

I went to colonial honda to buy my car. I walked in the door and within a matter of a minute I was served. Had Friendly service was offered all sorts of beverages. I looked over the car. Everything seemed fine but the car was missing the manual book. My dealer told me he will personal drop off the manual within three days. A week goes by and nothing. I go into Colonial Honda asking where is my manual. Turned out the dearler did not order it. Instead I was offered another manual that belonged too a different car and was told that the two cars are basically the same. I couldn't believe the guy said that. Blew my mind! I immediately turned a 180 from polite to an angry customer. End this short. I reviced my proper manual within two days. I have since gone to dartmouth Honda for any service that is required and am treated like a customer. read more

The service department is terrible. Missing paperwork, sent home many times without fixing a problem only to have to go back again with still no fix. Minor issues that shouldn't be a problem. Always a headache to get things fixed. Never had a happy experience with the service side yet. Sales side is great! Next time I will try Portland street Honda. read more

I purchased a 2007 Honda Fit from Colonial Honda Halifax N.S. I remember when making the deal with the salesman after buying over $1,000 in accessories I asked if they would toss in the rear bumper applique for free, I'll never forget his answer, he went to the sales manager and came back and said No! can't do it, do you still want one ? I said yes, he said that's a extra $80. I took my new Fit home parked it in the driveway, next day went to Montreal for 4 days. After I got home I couldn't wait to take the Fit for a drive, when I went to unlock the door I noticed a mark by the door handle. It was a small mark touched up, I said them SOB's I didn't notice it the night I picked up the car in the dark when . So then I went over the car and noticed a scar on the R front hubcap. With four days gone by I know I can't take it back and say look what you sold me. So that was the first experience with Colonial Honda. About 4 months later I took in my Fit in for it's first service call, It has squeaks coming from the driver side back window and the hatchback. So I picked up my Fit and was told the oil was changed and they sprayed grease on the windows and hatchback. When I got it home I looked at the nice spray grease job all over the hinges and in the side rails of the windows. It looked like a child did the work on my new 5 month old car. One year later my power locks started to pop up and down out of the blue, when I was driving and when the car was shut off. I called Colonial Honda and brought it over they said they didn't know what it was "sorry" and that will be $80, and the next time it happens bring it over so they can see it doing it. SO I did and they said we still not sure what it is. When my Fit hit 60,000 km's my engine started to misfire, I took it over to Colonial Honda they had it for the day, I went over to pick it up at 5:00 they said Sorry we don't know what it is that will be $80..that was 40,000 kms ago and my fit been running the same. In a nut shell I would have to say like I have to lots of people, 2 for sure potential Honda buyers not to buy from Colonial Honda and try a Mazda. I will never buy a Honda again and I stopped at 60,000 km's brining my car to Colonial Honda as they don't know how to fix the cars they sell read more

I love Honda cars I always owned a Honda I am on my third Honda, I've driven an Accord, Civic and now a Fit. That being said I went for a service appointment recently and was expecting my problem to be fixed obviously, which was my DRL light was on and my car was making a buzzing sound and the left light was out too so instead of fixing this they changed my headlight and wrote down the work done was for a burnt out head light, ok well that would have been fine if that was actually the problem and I would have said fix my burnt out headlight in which I didn't. So after paying and finding out two days later my problem was not fixed I called back expecting that it would be fixed but they want me to pay full price because its a totally different part well I am not impressed and they made me feel like I was lying to them and I also feel swindled. Colonial Honda has bought 24 houses on three city blocks around its dealership, and plans to demolish them all in order to build a massive parking lot in the heart of the North End. This is a neighbourhood that has been blessed in recent years with new residents, restoration of old housing stock, and new developments that have brought more people and vitality to the area. Steele's plan is the opposite of all that. It will destroy existing homes, rather than create new ones, and place a three-block-long dead zone in the middle of the neighbourhood. It will result in a massive expanse of bare pavement right at North and Robie, essentially turning what was an urban neighbourhood into the equivalent of a suburban arterial. What's worse, many residents haven't sold to Steele, and they'll be stranded in the middle of an asphalt field. Their property values, and quality of life, will plummet. Some of these houses represent people's retirement equity. Others are affordable starter homes helping young people get a foothold on the property ladder. Others are rental housing for people with few options. More and more have been renovated and restored in the past few years, as the neighbourhood regenerates and revitalizes. That's all at risk, for reasons that will benefit Steele Auto Group and virtually no one else. So, zero stars for Steele. read more

This Honda dealer is too busy to wait on customers properly. It takes too long to get an appointment. When I bought my Honda Accord I was told it would cost $70.00 with synthetic oil. My oil change cost $95.00. It took 3 weeks to get in because they were changing winter tires. I am going to try another Honda dealer for my maintenance from now on. Maybe elsewhere for oil changes. read more

Worst service department I have ever been too. If you have your mind set on Honda then negotiate price (remember Honda is no longer selling the top cars in the market so they are willing to negotiate). Other than Honda's genuine extended warranty, do not buy any of the extra stuff the dealer wants to sell (they will include hazard warranty on tires which is a big joke. They will say it is mandatory, but you can get a refund from that Alberta company within 30 days). For service, go somewhere else. Guys in service are extremely rude and the service advisors have zero technical knowledge about cars. They will scold at you if you ask any question. read more
