At 11:30am, Vicki called me to inform me that she was running late and to confirm the meetup location. On Spirit of Plymouth's website and Google, the address as listed as 1 Cordage Terrace Ext, but she said the meetup location was the See Plymouth office at 4 North St. We were already on our way so good thing we were just 5 minutes away from that address. We found a spot at a nearby public parking lot. I wish there was a confirmation the day before or earlier. Vicki, our costumed guide, showed up about 12:10pm and we were the only ones on the tour. As headed towards Pilgrim Memorial State Park, Vicki pointed out and talked about Dr. James Thacher's home, Spooner House, Mayflower Society House, Mayflower II, Plymouth Rock, William Bradford Statue, went up the stairs to see Massasoit Statue and Pilgrim Sarcophagus, overlooked Plymouth Immigrant Memorial in Brewster Gardens, First Parish Church in Plymouth, and lastly the Burial Hill Cemetery. Then, we walked back to our starting point. We finished the tour about 1:40pm. Vicki was very informative, personable, and knowledgeable. The walking tour for adults was $20.00 each and definitely worth it. I learnt so much.

History can seem bland at times but the guide Vicki kept it interesting. 10/10 will book with her again.

There's a lot of interesting and good information, and I liked the people. But.... The first half of the tour is in an old mini bus. The bus has tiny windows, like 4" square, and no air circulation. No fans. No air conditioning. Today was nearly 90 out by 10 am, when our tour started, and temperatures inside the bus got so hot that stepping out felt cool! You don't travel far, and then they stop for 10 minutes to talk about what's out the window. It's brutal. Ironically, the travel distances are so slim most people could walk it. But, just sitting on the bus in the heat? Yuck. The second half is in an old shed where you learn about harvesting. Again, it could be interesting, but it's a good 10° hotter, even with the fans going, and it makes it hard to focus. Or even listen. Better weather would have helped. But, we had an old lady in our tour group nearly pass out, and the guide indicated that that was not uncommon. Heck, complimentary water would be nice. Waters are a dollar. The tour is fifteen. It's all cash only.

Yummy! We walked to our next stop, The Tavern on the Wharf, where we were treated to grilled salmon over risotto with spinach and asparagus which was perfectly prepared. Our guide provided us with enlightening stories and pictures of various points of interest along the way. Our next stop was the Vela Juice Bar. As soon as we walked through the door, we immediately felt healthier by the aroma! And we sampled Buzzard's Brew! We then moved on to the Speedwell Tavern and learned the story of the ship that tried to accompany the Mayflower to America while sampling chicken wings. Next stop was the Craft Beer Cellar for a little beer tasting. More history with a visit to Plymouth Rock and The Mayflower Society and their beautiful garden. When we received fudge from the Plimouth Plantation, we were stuffed! So we bid Deb a thankful goodbye and took the dessert in a to-go bag! A perfect way to spend three hours!

We had an absolutely amazing day out on the water with Dolphin Fleet Whale Watch in Provincetown…read more Our tour guide, Sophie, made the entire experience unforgettable. She was incredibly knowledgeable, full of energy, and genuinely passionate about whales and nature. You could tell this is more than just a job for her. She even had a whale tattoo on her leg, which made her love for these incredible animals even more authentic. We learned so much from her, and it was refreshing to have a guide so excited to share her knowledge. She kept pointing out the whales as they surfaced, and her timing was perfect, just when you thought the action had moved on, she would spot another humpback breaching or lifting its tail before diving back down. If you can, try to get on one of Sophie's tours. I've been on whale watching tours before, but I have never seen anything like this. Our four kids were beyond excited as we saw what felt like 40 to 60 humpback whales. The boat ride itself was fantastic, with the salty spray in the air and everyone crowding the rails every time a whale came up close. It was one of the most incredible wildlife experiences we have ever had. At first, I thought the tour was a little pricey, but as my son said, "Dad, this was worth every dollar. You should have paid more." He was right. We happily tipped Sophie and the crew on our way out because they absolutely earned it. If you are visiting Provincetown, do not miss this experience. It was one of the highlights of our trip, and I would recommend it to anyone.
