Between the waterfalls, game room, Netflix, life-sized chess, foosball, air hockey, the Crooked Cabana bar, hot tub, and dry sauna -- this place truly has it all. A special thank you to Chuck for making our Mother's Day weekend even more memorable than we could have imagined. From the cookies and coffee to the kids' welcome packets, every detail reflected warmth and care. We could not imagine a more family-friendly and welcoming experience. We came here on a Wednesday evening at 6pm and there were fewer than 10 people seated (not including a half a dozen or so at the bar). We had two young kids with us so we ordered quickly in hopes we could get the kids settled, fed and back in the car before they started acting like kids. We ordered chicken fingers and fries for the kids, wings and French onion soup for ourselves followed by a cheesesteak and a cheeseburger. We did not see a single piece of food until 7pm. Literally - one hour from when we ordered until even the kids food showed up. We asked the waitress to check on everything about 45 minutes into the evening and could hear the chef say, "you tell them it'll be out when it's ready". Two stars rather than one because when the food did finally show up it was mostly good. The wings were great, the cheesesteak was great - the burger was tragic, borderline inedible. It tasted like it had been grilled directly on charcoal that was doused in lighter fluid. I'd have sent it back if I wasn't 100% sure we'd end up waiting another hour for a replacement. I'm fairly certain this place won't care about this review - but I hope if you're reading this you'll be dissuaded from wasting your time, money and energy and look to any of a number of other amazing restaurants in the area that serve great food and provide amazing service.

This is a review after our stay at the Hanah House, the private cabin at Hanah Mountain Resort. I…read moreand 5 other guests rented the Hanah House for two nights while in town for a wedding. The biggest complaints: The Hanah House was not clean, amenities were broken, and we were treated dismissively by the Hanah manager, Deb. Shortly after checking in, we noticed the heat was not working. We called into the main lobby, and maintenance promptly came and turned on the heat to the bedrooms and left a space heater in the main room until they could fix it the next day. I was very pleased about how quickly maintenance handled it, this is not a complaint about that. But it's just the first of many issues illustrating that the Hanah House was not at all made ready for guests prior to our arrival. We quickly discovered: - There were dirty towels on the floor in the master bathroom (pictured below). They had been there so long that a spider had built a web between them and the bathtub. - There was leftover food baked onto a pan left in the oven (pictured below). I can only assume it was from the same party that left the cobwebbed dirty towels. This made the oven unusable. - There were flies in the house and multiple dead ones on the carpet in each of the bedrooms. - we also had complaints about the fact that the electric fireplace did not work, and that there were no comforters in the room. I was satisfied by the manager's explanation that the fireplace is a fire hazard, and does not work by design, and that the comforters have been removed due to covid protocol. Over the next few nights, we discovered that multiple things were broken: - The first night, the fire alarm in the main room began beeping, indicating it needed its battery changed. To me, this indicates the hotel does not regularly check them. - The second morning, when the 6 of us were running around getting ready for the wedding, we discovered the showerhead in the master bath did not work and only produced a trickle of water. - We also discovered that the hairdryer in the master bath, the only one in the house, did not work. I asked specifically ahead of time if they had hairdryers and irons available anticipating we would need them for the wedding. When we checked out, we let the front desk know about our issues and they told us they'd notify the manager, Deb, and ask her to call us. Deb called me the next day, but when I asked if there was anything she could do about all the problems we experienced, or if it would be possible to get partial compensation since the house wasn't up to par, she refused. She assigned the issues to the fact that the house is a rustic cabin. I understand that the house is not a 5-star mansion, but things were broken, dirty, and the house did not appear to be ready for guests when we checked in. My partner asked her if she could speak to upper management. When I checked in with her two days later, she informed me that upper management held the same position. She also cut me off when I was speaking to say goodbye and hung up on me. I have never asked for compensation or complained before about a hotel. I understand these are usually run by people doing their best to provide for their guests, and mistakes do happen. But the house was dirty, amenities were broken, and the most we got was a "sorry, but it's a cabin."

And yes she was part of the problem, but no she was not the entire problem. The entire place seems to be a problem. The people who answer the phone at the front desk seeing friendly and nice, but aren't able to do anything and they insist you have to speak with management and tell you to speak with winners like her. The…read moreinn was clearly a motel in a previous life, as it had that lengthy structure with outdoor entrances to each room. The parking lot was gravel-based, so vehicles were parked a bit haphazardly, but the lot's spaciousness ensured that it was not really an issue. The hotel was right on the stream with a lovely grassy area dotted with Adirondack chairs, hammocks, and other ways to enjoy the view. The office was located right next to that little park and was also where the continental buffet breakfast was served. The small room had a great view of the water from its few tables. The breakfast options included various hot beverages, several types of milk, yogurt, berries, granola, pastries, breads, hard-boiled eggs, lox, tomatoes, cucumbers, and more. It was really the perfect few bites to start the day with energy and wellness. While the inn had a few larger cabins, many of the rooms were supposedly rather tiny, including ours. The room had a queen-sized bed, nightstand, wall-mounted television, and wooden desk with matching chair. There was a closet with some hanging and shelving space, as well as a hair dryer and coffeemaker. The room really left a lot to be desired from a space perspective, as it was hard to navigate. For instance, the room might have come with 2 luggage racks, but there was really only space for one. The bathroom was also tiny, and it was near impossible to use the toilet without sideswiping the pedestal sink on your way. The shower was a decent size at least. The bathroom came with fluffy towels and Aveda products, which were both appreciated. We also loved that the temperature and pressure of the water were phenomenal; in fact, the shower was like a fire hose! Though the room was small, it was SPOTLESS! Also, its individual heater packed a great deal of warmth. There was not an abundance of electrical outlets, but the alarm clock had one built in, as well as two USB ports. The extremely gracious staff had also left a binder of local recommendations for us on the table. The bed, however, was lumpy, and the pillows were cheap and uncomfortable. From a location standpoint, the inn was only a few blocks from either end of town, depending on which way you wanted to travel. The residential roads were very dark at night and many did not have sidewalks, so we definitely needed to be alert walking to and from the main drag, even though we knew the town was overly safe. The Woodstock Inn on the Millstream made up for its lack of amenities and small rooms with efficient, friendly service and clear dedication to guest satisfaction.
