Turns out it had a "small" oil leak that he did not intend to fix , because it wasn't a big deal . Left a puddle of oil that had to be cleaned up after running maybe 10 minutes . I asked if it would take an inspection sticker like that . Tim said o yeah it wasn't a problem . Needless to say I did not buy the car because it really leaked too much to actually drive it around without fixing it . Tim said he would just sell it to someone else . My observation of low coolant plus the oil leak pointed in the direction of a bad head gasket . Tim was not even willing to discuss that ! So in the end I told him he was a shister . Some one is going to buy that car and get screwed .

The backup camera didn't work upon purchase and the owner promised to fix it which he didn't and instead paid us the cost of the part to take it somewhere else. We were also promised a 1 year drivetrain warranty which we did not receive. Fast forward 1 year and we have had all of the electronics stop working in the vehicle, replaced radiator hoses and oil lines, and are now looking at at $6,000 bill because the exhaust manifold is cracked. They make their best attempt to hide and dismiss problems and list their "pretty" vehicles for top dollar. The description of vehicle options are also falsely described as well. When confronted with evidence of issues, false descriptions and damage, they do not negotiate and adjust their price to compensate and instead expect customers to accept responsibility and handle issues themselves on their own dime. I wasted a considerable amount of time and money at First City Cars and Trucks. I think consumers should be aware of their practices and look elsewhere for their next vehicle purchase.

Getting a loaner car was the equivalent…read moreof reasoning with a toddler (so for sake of keeping the peace I paid for a rental car out of pocket) & after getting a shutter motor replaced, the next morning the car locked with the keys in it. The VW app also decided to stop working - can't remote start, lock or unlock. How does a car lock with both keys inside & the app malfunction after getting repairs?! Worst car I've ever had. Service & sales are kind, but nothing about this experience is good.

I went to Rochester Volkswagen because, the day after my NH state inspection at a different shop, my check engine light came on (I know...right?) I brought it in for diagnostic and it was determined that cylinder 3 was misfiring due to a leak. They were very transparent about what needed to be ordered and what was potentially necessary. The part was ordered and after an additional appointment for installation, my car was back to working properly. It turned out that it didn't need anything additional. Was this all expensive? Of course. But the point I'm making is they didn't do anything else that wasn't necessary. They didn't lie about the car needing additional work from leak damage. I've learned my lesson. Even if the other shop is innocent, and they likely are, I will not be going back there. It is hard to trust. I will not name drop because I cannot say anything with certainty.
