I walked in…read moreand told the man who sent me and he proceeded to pull my dress out of the garment bag right in front of my fiance, 3 DAYS BEFORE OUR WEDDING. I got my dress tailored by another man, who is great. The wrinkles in the dress were too much for him to remove so he sent me here and told me it would be taken care of, as he didn't let me know about the issue until I went to pick up my dress after my final fitting. The man at Gates Cleaners told me no one called him and started yelling at me, telling me my request to get this done was ridiculous and as mentioned above, without warning, he pulled MY WEDDING DRESS out of the garment bag without warning right in front of my future husband. If I had any other option, I would have taken my dress and left. I will NEVER return to this place nor will I hold back on sharing my experience.

Thank goodness I checked the items in store, as I noticed 2 of the 3 pants in my order were missing. I notified the receptionist at the time, and we managed to find one of the pants attached to someone else's name. I was told they would reach back out over the weekend if they found my pants, or at least to give me an update. On Monday (1/6), I still haven't received any updates, so I called in to check. The phone was picked up by the same woman who had received my suits initially. On asking for updates, she took immediate offended tone and said to call back at 1, when the new truck would drop off orders. I explained that my clothes weren't missing because of a delay, but because they may have been given to someone else, and was told "You've tried to ask the same thing 3 times, but in a different order, if you ask again, I will hang up." So in the hopes of getting more context, I began asking her for if she remembers anyone else when I dropped off the order, but before I could get two words out, she actually hung up on me... Overall, service quality is perhaps the worst I've ever seen and the dry cleaning itself (for the pieces I actually received back, anyways) was mediocre at best. I'm saddened as this store used to be run by a nice couple which provided great service, but had recently retired. The store as it currently is being run is not even a shell of its former self and should be avoided at all costs.

I ended up spotting my suit just laying on a shelf, but they didn't dry clean it. So I had wait and I go to pickup the day before the wedding and the delivery guy wasn't there yet...so I had to go back a third time an hour later that day and finally got it. Firstly, it was "it must have come in that way" (no), then it a was furious gesticulations toward a waiver on the back of the receipt and "we do not guarantee buttons, it must have been ready to come off" (also no: I dry clean a lot and when I see not one, not two, by THREE buttons split in two (not missing) with rake marks down what is left, I think both customer and business realize this is a sign of neglect and a machine jam). I was a gentleman and I was embarrassed in public, treated like a criminal and disrespected. This place won't get a penny more from me. 2 star, not 1 star given only because the buttons were replaced (after I asked, it wasn't offered).

This week my very very expensive 2-week old…read morewoven cashmere shirt from Scotland came back to me with a hole in the armpit after I asked them to be very careful with it. It was thrown into a machine with regular clothes and treated no differently than a regular cotton tee. Very distressing. I can't be certain that they caused it but they didn't fill me with confidence when I spoke to them about it. They actually showed no concern at all for how the item was handled. I don't even know if they know what gray and cashmere is. The blossom Road location told me I might have better luck at their location when the owner is around. I like to think that maybe I caused the tear myself by accident by not being careful. I'm going to go to Eagles in Penfield just to be safe because this whole situation was really upsetting for me. The shirt costs too much for the business to replace. I should have documented the condition of the shirt before sending it in. I'm going to have my special clothing cleaned elsewhere to be safe. I have had no issues with letting them handle my Italian wool suits.

The clothes are not done on site so it does take a few days to get it back but if you drop off your clothes early in the morning you can usually get them back within 1 to 2 days. I Dry Clean my shirts, pants and coats here and I have always been very pleased. A bit pricey but so are most Dry Cleaners.
