Ron from Fancy Moving called us back shortly after our initial inquiry which we needed a quick move 10 days from inquiry. Ron sent us via email paperwork /contract and all info you would ask when reaching out to moving company. Ron was able to accommodate our limited move time. No hidden charges. I believe one of the movers name was Alex and sorry I can't recall his helper. They were hard workers, polite and wore masks the entire day in keeping with the COVID restrictions. I will say that I was surprised that I jumped ship and went with Bates Moving and I will tell you why. Mike came to my home and went through my house and garage room by room and talked to me about what he would do for certain pieces, he asked questions and he explained his business plan/commitment. He has worked for several moving companies and assessed what worked and what did not work for colleagues as well as customers. He found out the biggest concerns about both and addressed them by changing how his company does things. He hires experienced staff and takes the time to train staff correctly. He expects complete professionalism from his team and they give it. They were the politest crew I have ever dealt with, in any contractor I have hired. They took such care with my homes and my belongings. They put runners down in both homes that extended the length of the house. They wrapped my doors and door frames (NEVER have I had a mover doo this) to ensure they were not damaged. They wrapped EVERYTHING from the largest piece of furniture to the smallest lamp. They cleaned up every thing in each of my homes. They marked furniture to ensure it was put back together the same way they took it apart (right down to the height of our bed). They didn't just drop the items in a room and take off, they helped reassemble everything. They also helped me move 12 heavy boxes from our basement to our attic that they did not move to our new home but knew it would be difficult for me to do it myself. The price Mike quotes you is the price the move is, period! Mike ended up bringing 2 trucks and 2 extra employees because we had such large furniture and all of my husbands work benches and tools. He did NOT charge us extra. Truthfully he does what he says he is going to do. He does not lie and he treats him team well (which I appreciate). This was the best move I have ever experienced and I have moved 3 times prior and been responsible for 3 parental moves out of 30+year homes. You cannot go wrong with this company. We hope to never have to use them again but if we do need to move Bates Moving will be our choice. I have and will continue to recommend them to friends, family and strangers. I moved from Boston to Martha's Vineyard last November, and they couldn't have been better. They answered all my nervous questions, mostly in a timely fashion except maybe once or twice, but I called a lot because I hadn't moved in 30 years. As for the move itself, it went smoothly, the guys helped me finish packing when that was not what I'd intended but, oops! I fell behind a bit. They even got my plants down to the vineyard without incident, and I have a ficus, and a 10-foot tree. When they set the furniture down in the new place, they put it down very carefully, so there was no scraping on the floor. Valtran did not have an issue with renting a 20' container with an open-ended return! I called them after talking with other storage companies that charged far more and locked you in for additional fees. The container that was delivered was clean and secure. The driver provided recommendations for storage along with placing those little dehumidifier cups inside. Alas, we had a humid summer and some of the items did get some mildew and warping of furniture veneer. That's no fault of the company or container, strictly due to the ridiculous length of time I had it and not assuming it would have been over the summer. Every person I spoke with was cheerful, helpful, and courteous. I recommend them to everyone and if you need a storage container? Look no further than this company! The price is right, they are professionals, and you will be pleased with your decision.
