When my husband and I needed movers to move from our apartment into our single family home, we turned to a local Facebook group for recommendations on who to trust with our move. The comments were overwhelmingly in favor of New Generation, and I'm so glad that we chose to go with Kevin and his team. Upon filling out the online contact form, Kevin quickly reached out to us to answer any questions and send us the portal for recording our belongings and information about each location. From this, Kevin promptly sent us an estimate which found very well priced and fair. We put down a $100 deposit to hold our date, and the company confirmed our move early in the week and up until the night before. We also got an update when the truck was en route in the morning which was great because they actually arrived early for the 8am appointment. There were 3 men who came with a very well sized truck, and after an initial walkthrough they got straight to work! They took care of delicate items, wrapped almost everything, and were extremely efficient. They had our whole 2 bedroom apartment loaded within a 1.5 hours. Once we got to our new home, they were equally as efficient and careful with our belongings and our house (laying down mats and sheets to not damage the hard wood floors). The whole job ended up going faster than expected, and they used less materials than expected, so the final invoice was less than quoted! I have and will continue recommending New Generation and will turn to them for moves in the future. read more

I rarely write reviews, and in fact, this is the first negative review I have written in over 15 years. I waited a few months before posting because I was so frustrated and disappointed by this experience that I wanted time to assess the full extent of the damage and loss before sharing my thoughts. I have moved at least eight times in my life, including a major move from Texas to Massachusetts, and I have never experienced anything close to what happened with this company. When we sold our home sooner than expected, we hired this company to handle our move, store our belongings, and then deliver everything to our new home. We trusted them with nearly everything we owned. That trust was misplaced. I understand that during any move, a few items may get damaged. That's unfortunate but realistic. What is not realistic is arriving at your new home and discovering that approximately 30% of your belongings are damaged, broken, missing, or unusable. Among the damaged items were dishes, glasses, vases, lamps, mirrors, pictures, Christmas trees, furniture, and even our lawn mower, which was nearly new, worth approximately $5,000, and had been used just before we sold our home. Our expensive olive trees arrived broken at the base and were beyond saving. Many boxes were crushed from what appeared to be improper storage and stacking practices. What was perhaps even more frustrating was the complete lack of care shown during delivery. Despite being present and directing movers where items belonged, we continued finding boxes marked "Kitchen" upstairs in unrelated rooms. One member of the crew worked incredibly hard and genuinely seemed to care about doing a good job. Unfortunately, the same could not be said for everyone on the team. The remaining movers appeared far more interested in finishing quickly than ensuring our belongings were handled properly, placed correctly, or reassembled appropriately. Furniture was assembled without consulting us about placement. One bed was put together while three mattresses were simply piled on top of it. Numerous items remained wrapped and unfinished. Moving blankets were left behind. We were handed a box filled with miscellaneous parts that were not labeled, and to this day we still do not know what many of those pieces belong to. The missing items are almost as upsetting as the damaged ones. We are still discovering things that never made it back to us, including batteries for lawn equipment, components for our lawn mower, tanks for our Swiffer systems, the power cord for our $1,800 exercise bike, and countless other items accumulated over years of hard work. Perhaps the most heartbreaking part is the level of disregard shown for belongings that represented years of effort, sacrifice, and memories. My husband and I worked very hard for the things we own. Watching them arrive damaged, destroyed, or missing was incredibly upsetting. Ironically, we tipped the movers because at the time we had not yet uncovered the true extent of the damage. As we unpacked over the following 7 weeks, the reality became clearer and more devastating. We paid approximately $8,000 for moving and storage services. The damage and losses we experienced far exceed that amount. The financial impact has been significant, but the frustration and disappointment have been even greater. Hiring this company was one of the worst decisions we have ever made. If you are considering using them to move and store your belongings, I strongly encourage you to look elsewhere. Movers damaged our front stairs and then discarded the broken stone to hide the evidence. We called the company immediately and they said a claim would be filed but never responded back. I asked for a certificate of insurance to call their insurer directly and they completely "ghosted us". Beware of any company that never answers their main number and always goes to a VM. They likely do this to screen their calls and not reply to other customers that have also had complaints/attempted to file a claim for damages. read more

They were excellent! I used them several times for a long distance move. This included the use of their moving services and storage of my household with them until my house was finished. I couldn't ask for greater service and I wasn't overcharged. Kurt was responsive and made sure that things were completed correctly and to my satisfaction. To begin, we had a whole house move (local) and a week of storage. Kurt was our sales rep who conducted a virtual tour and provided us with a flat-rate compete job quote (no big deal here, he was nice). On move-out day, the team showed up late to our home. There were eight total movers that showed up. All but maybe two were sub-contracted movers, which was opposite of what Kurt told me when we did our virtual quote (again, not huge issue). Throughout the move, the movers were pretty efficient getting things done and moved into the trucks. What was most alarming during the move-out occurred when the police almost had to be called because the NGM driver misplaced the cash payments for all the movers. That halted the move-out and a large commotion took place before they resolved the issue somehow and the movers started again. Again, this did not impact my side, but showed a lack of professionalism for sure. They finished up and everything was done within five hours. On move-in day, the team showed up on time. They had five movers this time (maybe two were with NGM, the rest sub-contracted). It was raining so not ideal moving conditions. Each box or crate was labeled correctly with which room to go to, but I stood by the bed of the truck to direct the movers where to take things. Considering the conditions, they were pretty efficient. We did run into issues with getting things put together and setup, because the team that moved us out misplaced furniture hardware and did a sloppy jobs of taking things apart, and especially about keeping everything together. This was evident from the frustrations of the team lead Adam who was very upset. Adam then showed me a few scratches on the kitchen floor of our in-law apartment. These scratches were made by the move-in team moving a table and bench into the kitchen area. As usual, it was played off like it might have been there prior, but we hadn't been in that building yet and the prior owners were extremely meticulous about everything. It was also clear from the pattern of the scratch and where the furniture was that it had been done during the move-in by the NGM team. Not a big deal as long as NGM takes care of the issue (see below regarding interactions with owner Shaun). The move-in took a little longer than the move-out, but they got it done and left. Afterwards, between unpacking and sorting on our own, we found random boxes everywhere. Were they placed in the rooms marked on the boxes, of course not. We had children's bedroom boxes in the garage, shed boxes in the kitchen, etc. I chalk this up to it raining and the movers wanting to get out of there. Extremely frustrating they could not just take the time to read the box or ask if they had questions (again, I was standing by the truck bed directing them on where to take big items). The biggest issue that resulted in my refusal to ever use or recommend this company to anyone was the experience I had with the owner Shaun (or lack there of). I sent Kurt and Shaun the pictures of the scratches made by his team. Shaun offered to come out and fix the scratches. The first meeting he never showed up (he claimed his calendar reminder never went off). The second time we planned to meet I had to reschedule because of a conflict (this was done several days before our appointment, so no big deal). The final scheduled meeting was again, missed by Shaun. He did not call, email, or anything. That was two days I had to take off from work for nothing to be resolved. Of course, Shaun never called or emailed to apologize or email, it just is what it is and it's my problem now. He already has my money, so no need for him to fulfill his companies obligations. I am writing this review to warn people of this company. We paid a lot of money for a company that is affiliated with Van Lines, yet provided the service level of some random movers you hire off craigslist. I wish I spent more money with perhaps a reputable company that cares about their customers. I do plan to forward my experiences to Van Lines as well so they are aware of the companies affiliated with their name. read more

If I could give these guys 10 stars I would. Shaun and his team are the best movers I have ever dealt with. They are responsive, efficient, on time, and quote a job and stick to the price. We were building a new house and New Generation kept my stuff in storage for 4 months and even worked with me when I needed a washer & dryer delivered to my new house early before the rest of my things so it could be installed. Not many other movers would do that. Shaun even checked in after the fact to make sure everything was great in our new house. Today New Generation moved me and what a great experience it was! Let me just say I have brand new floors and paint and absolutely nothing was damaged, even though there was snow and ice storm yesterday. Nothing was broken and I had plenty of glass but not a chip. This company gets no stars. All of my most precious life long belongings were STOLEN from the premise as they were stored in a landscape trailer. My things were to be stored in climate controlled from the day they were picked up, November 27, 2021. The goods were stolen with the trailer April 15, 2022 or about as the owner was trying to figure out when the noticed it gone. The police report states that my things had been in the trailer since December 2021. EXTREME NEGLIGENCE wouldn't you say!!! This is so devastating and traumatic, all of our family portraits, family photos, furniture-furnishings and many other IRREPLACEABLE items are gone. This company has not returned monies that were paid... Four months of climate controlled storage... and I paid upfront to have my belongings delivered (as stated in the contract) when my Inlaw addition was finished obviously that's not happening but Mr. Bradford will not pay. as I said this is extreme negligence and unprofessional. to submit a review you have to pick a star like I said NO STARS HERE read more

When looking for a mover for my local move I checked Yelp and was immediately drawn to New Generation on the strength of their reviews. I called and they immediately set up a time to meet and view the job to give the most accurate estimate possible. They gave me a very fair price and we hired them for the job. The actual moving date was somewhat in flux right up until the day before but Kevin continued to work with me and remained flexible. On the day of the move, Kevin, Joe and Dave showed up promptly at the designated time and when right to work. They covered the floors and padded the doors and door jams. Our biggest concern was an heirloom piano that belongs to my wife. Watching how they handled it put our minds at rest. Everyone worked tirelessly and were consumate professionals. Overview: Gave New Generation a chance based on reviews. Moved out of a 1300 SF home. Paid $3K for the move and an additional $1K in tips ($400 for move out team and $200 for move in team + lunch and rental of a truck to move additional belongings that the moving company didn't take). Overall cost for a 1300 SF move was $4K. Had a number of legitimate complaints and was given two $25 gift cards by Shawn the Owner. Nice gesture but not even close to a solution in my opinion. Tips: Pay for the extra option of having them wrap wall hangings and mirrors. What wasn't communicated to us was that this also applied to anything that was fragile was not moved, therefore we had to rent a truck unexpectedly which was an additional expense and stress. Pros: Both the move-in and move out crews showed up on time and the company was responsive. Very nice personality and attitude among the team that moved us into our new home. Affordable. Cons: Clogged the toilet of the house we moved out of and left us with a disgusting mess to deal with hours before our walk through, left a lot of trash in the home we were moving out of, a suitcase of clean clothes was accidentally put on the moving truck arrived soaked through with many clothes ruined despite multiple washings, delivered our sectional sofa without the metal connecting piece, delivered daughter's dresser with missing knobs, took my husband's tools. My biggest source of dissatisfaction was that despite purchasing the move out team lunch and tipping them $400 they would be so disrespectful to our home. Same was true of the move in team, I have two young children (1 and 4) we moved in on Halloween day. We tipped the move in team $200 and also purchased them lunch, they didn't set up one thing, not a bed, not a table, didn't unwrap the plastic on our mattresses, didn't put a shelf back in a cabinet. To come home to a new house from trick or treating and have to make our kids wait while we assemble their beds was a HUGE disappointment. The team did return our tools, knobs, and sectional sofa piece after we called. Bottom Line: Life is about expectations. We didn't get what we paid for, we didn't get what we were told and after generously tipping felt taken advantage of. Moving is not a place to cheap out - lesson learned. read more

Next Generation Moving is A+. Let me start by saying I am a perfectionist. I just moved into my first new construction home. Naturally, I was extremely concerned with damage during the move. However, the team at Next Generation executed the move, during Tropical Storm Jose, perfectly! Eddie (foreman), Victor, and TJ worked extremely hard to make sure nothing was damaged. These guys busted their butt from 8AM till 4PM! They used extra pads on everything to protect the furniture from the rain. Once on the truck they even put pads under the furniture to prevent water damage to the legs. In addition, they had floor protection for all the high traffic areas. Eddie was a pro putting all the furniture that had to be dissembled back together. These guys are as good as it gets. I highly recommend them to anybody looking for a mover and want TRUE professionals to execute the job. read more

I have used other moving companies in the past when I have moved between apartments. The other company was good, not great. But a good value, so I always assumed I would keep using them. However, recently I purchased a new home, and I thought I should look elsewhere for a company that would do a good job keeping my nice new home intact in the process! I found New Generation through yelp and was instantly pleased when they told me they would send someone to my apartment to scope out what it is they actually had to move to provide their best estimate. Out of the 5 moving companies I contacted on Yelp, they were the only ones to offer this service. Shaun came to my apartment, looked at everything I had accumulated over the years both in my apartment and in my storage unit and provided me a VERY fair price for the move. I figured with this sort of customer service, I was willing to give them a try. On moving day, they provided me a half hour window in which they would arrive in the morning and they arrive right on the dot at the beginning of that span. Shaun and two other movers arrived and got right to work, working efficiently to clear out my apartment safely. When they arrived at my house they laid down blankets, did not track in any debris from outside, and unpacked and reassembled any furniture necessary. They took no breaks so as to keep the move as quick as possible, and were pleasant to work with the entire time. I highly highly recommend New Generation Moving and Storage, as well as Shaun himself. Shaun and his crew were excellent. We had an issue that caused one move into three because of some defective carpet that we were waiting on which was delayed by a month and a snow storm that caused a slight delay. Shaun delivered 17 years worth of furnishings from one house to another with no damage to anything. He and his crew packed everything with care. Shaun even came back to make sure our trampoline was safe for our children by purchasing some new screws and coming back to make sure that everything was tight and operating perfectly. Overall experience well below expectations. Pros: they were punctual and polite. Cons: They game for an estimate a few days before and calculated the full move to cost about $2350. The person who did the estimate indicated that we could try to save a good portion of the money if we boxed up and moved some of the items ourselves, like paintings/pictures, clothes, electronics. We spend a week moving miscellaneous items in an effort to get the price under $2000, ended up packing all our books and moving all our clothes and shoes, paintings, some electronics and other miscellaneous items before the "big" move day. The total price still ended up at $2800!!! They also indicated during the estimate that we could leave stuff inside the drawers on our nightstands and a little armoire and they would just move them as is. They actually boxed that stuff up - I had mine and my daughter's passports inside the armoire and now I've spent 2 days looking for them, I have no idea what box they put them in! They also forgot some things at the old house which we now still need to move ourselves. I am very unhappy with my experience, wish they gave an honest estimate right from the start because we had estimates from other companies that were slightly lower, but we liked New Generation so had decided to go with them. As soon as I called New Generation - Kevin came out and met me within a week to take a look at my apartment and provide me a quote. I moved roughly 80 miles and the price was very reasonable. On the day of the move - the movers were very professional and efficient. I ended up getting stuck in traffic for an hour and the movers (Brendan and Chris) were still very patient and polite. We used New Generation to move from Canton to Marshfield, Ma last week. I had interviewed 3 movers and decided to hire the company based on the Yelp Reviews. Please be careful if you hire New Generations. Make sure you ask Kevin what is NOT included in your move, not what is. My husband spent several hrs. dismantling 3 beds in order to make it easier for New Generation. When the company was about to leave, we discovered it does not reassemble the beds "because of liability" issues. Had we known this was the case, my husband would have not have taken the beds apart. We were trying to make it easier for them and to save time. Also, at the end of moving in, New Generation refused to haul any of the boxes we used to pack. There were a lot. When asked why, Kevin stated "Our dumpster would not be able to fit all the boxes." When asked what does the company do when they use their own boxes, Kevin reported they bring in extra equipment to haul away the boxes. Hmm, he was there the entire day of loading the truck. Did he not notice all the boxes we had? Could he have said something then, or even when we were placing the empty boxes by the truck? On the positive side, the workers did work hard. They were respectful, packed our remaining equipment well, and nothing was damaged. Obviously, I just assumed too much from New Generation. I hope at the very least, my assumption that Kevin passed out the $40 tip for each worker on loading day ($240) was shared because like I mentioned, they did work hard. read more
