King Movers and Storage was able to accommodate my move for the requested date and explained an estimate based on information I provided to them. The team sent to perform the move did a fantastic job dismantling, protecting (blankets, tape & plastic wrap were used) and reassembling my furniture at the new home. I could not have been more pleased with how the move turned out.

Let me clarify this is not for a one bedroom apartment, this is to move one literal bedroom of items from a roommate household to another roommate household so no common area items or large furniture like couches/dining tables etc. Frustrating I spent 30 minutes on the phone with them just to get an estimate that's nearly double my rent. So don't waste your time unless you're prepared to spend thousands of dollars. Would be one star, but I added a second star because the guy on the phone was very kind, and one extra star because this is about my dissatisfaction with a moving estimate, not the actual service. Again the employee who worked with me on the phone to provide my estimate was incredibly nice and helpful, I was just shocked to see the price they asked for.

We moved a 3 floor townhouse worth of big ticket furniture, boxes, and other odds and ends (such as an elliptical machine) near New Hampshire, to a 3 floor house in Boston. The quoting process and their inventory system process was a breeze to use, which helped them facilite the correct sized moving truck to be used. They were very accommodating with our moving period/schedule. The communication was very clear and concise, with very prompt responses via email whenever we had a question or concern. We honestly set it, and forget it until moving day arrived. The day before moving day, we received the timeframe window the movers would come. Day of the move, the truck and three movers came. They went over the cost breakdown with us again, so that there were no surprises for us (there were none!). We gave them a quick walk-through of our place and what was moving. They formulated their moving plan, and how they'd load the moving truck, and quickly packed up and moved everything into the truck. The movers wrapped up all the big ticket furniture in blankets and taped it to avoid any dents/damage. They were also very polite, and asked for permission, when they needed a quick break (3 flights of stairs is a lot of work!). Once they we done, they drove over to Boston for the unload process. Again, they were very quick and efficient. We went through a walkthrough in the Boston house, for them to formulate what would go where, and off to the races they went. Some of the big ticket items (Queen size beds w/ headboards, antique hutches, dressers), I had concerns about fitting into bending stairways... they were able to alleviate. We had a large L shaped couch, they removed (and later put back on) the legs, and were able to navigate the tight turns going up stairs to make it fit! Once they were done with the move, they went over the cost breakdown one more time before payment (again no surprises from our end with it). I would highly recommend M&M Moving. Everyone we interacted with from their end, during this moving process, was very professional, nice, courteous, and efficient.

I used this moving company for a 9/1 move. I made reservations with them the previous April. As…read moresomeone who has moved quite a bit (including 2 cross country moves) I am pretty good at giving a moving company all pertinent information relating to my move so we can move, pun intended, as quickly as possible. While the movers (including the owner) did show up on time, that was about all they did correctly for my move. It took them almost 4 hours to move the large pieces of furniture from my 1 bedroom apartment (with an elevator) into the truck. I had already moved all boxes and small items myself to the loading area prior to their arrival. The movers had NO EQUIPMENT, not even gloves, to carry anything or expedite the process. When we arrived at my new location (2nd floor walk up in JP) They seem to take their time moving things in (I moved more in then they did) and when my couch needed to be hoisted up, the owner seemed to be upset with me. He told me time and again during the day about how they know how to move people in Boston. "This is our business. We know what we are doing." Yet, they had no equipment and were unprepared to hoist anything. The total move took 8 hours! Then the owner made it seem like he was doing me a favor by coming back 2 days later and hoisting my couch up. Not only will I not use them again but after the near $1000 I spent, I actively recommend against them!

HOWEVER, I used her…read moreservices twice and when it happened to be on site on the actual day the move, I found Ingrid to be very impatient, and would interrupt the movers when they were trying to ask me a question. DO NOT HIRE THEM!!! They were highly incompetent in almost every aspect of our move. The truth of…read morethe matter is that they are taking advantage of the elderly and people in vulnerable positions. Let me explain. I am disabled. My mother works all day. My Stepfather passed away in 2017. Our Large Estate was too much for us to handle on our own. We needed a clean out done (lots of junk) But also needed movers to help us pack what we would be taking with us. They claim to "Do it all!" Boy they sure do! They'll DO you alright. DO ya right in to the dirt pal! Don't get me started on their cleaning expertise. The place was so clean it was spotless almost as if our possessions weren't even there! Oh wait a minute, that's because they weren't! They'll clean you right out! They come in and under the guise of helping you pack, eye ball all of your belongings and decide what they will keep for themselves to sell off and what junk they will wrap up and send off with you! My mother can not believe how many of her precious things were not packed and mine too. The owner Ingrid wrapped up my stepdads ashes! His ashes! The one thing my mom said she'd personally bring with her they packed up. and very disrespectfully at that. Thank god my mom saw them in the box on the floor. Ingrid then tried to convince me that I did not need my rolling closet that was like 100$ I assured her that I did need it. Guess what! She decided I didn't! She kept it! My moms reclining chair. They took it! My mom flipped and they brought it back. The back that had been damaged previously was already fixed!!! They played it off like that was a favor.. lady had our chair fixed and never told us about it haha! Sounds more like it was getting ready to be sold rather. Plenty more went wrong here I won't continue. Ok I will. They took my tools and my brother had to go retrieve them. He approached a guy on the truck. The guy pretended he "Didn't see NO tools!" His words. My bro spotted them behind the guy. GUY was blocking/hiding them with his body! Furious and befuddled that the jig was up the guy threw them at my brother. Not only did they poach anything of value that we didn't specifically say pack. They were highly disrespectful with the things they packed for us and super gentle with everything in the clean out. I mean it's almost as if the trucks were swapped and we got the clean out truck and they kept our possessions. I mean the truly disgusting and despicable part of it is that the place pretends to be a beacon of light in a tough time. Like especially after grief or a death apparently or a loved one too old to take care of themselves. They cater to retirement homes and estate sales etc..etc.. I'm disabled but I'm only 26 and am able to tell you all what happened. I can't imagine how many sickly and elderly people these folks must have Swindled that simply can't speak on it. I mean retirement homes for goodness sake. From a hypothetical stand point I could easily imagine an elderly woman saying "hey where's this and where is that?" But everybody just thinks she's old and crazy and never had a radio from 1936 or maybe she even thought the year now is 1936 so like who would really care right??? Nobody would care that's who and that's exactly what New Leaf is counting on. Their counting on that very sentiment all the way to the bank!!! How do these folks from retirement homes feel I wonder. That their stuff was taken. It was (hypothetically but entirely possible) an old person's that probably can't use a computer and give a review or they're dead and buried and rolling in their grave. Not able to say how mortified they are that their possessions were hawked and sold and everything was handled with utter carelessness. My mom had to write on the boxes with a sharpie because even their stickers were cheap. They would fall right off and wait here's the shocking climax...even more stuff got mixed up and "lost" ..cough "sold " Not to mention this was not a cheap service. So we essentially paid to have our items stolen from us and sold elsewhere for a profit. The term from Seinfeld "double dipping" comes to mind.
