I took my granddaughter to the aquarium today, and after we came out, we happened to find this lovely place. We originally just wanted to take a quick look, but once we walked in, we were drawn in by the warm and welcoming atmosphere and decided to sit down and paint together. It made our day even more special, and we had such a fun and meaningful time creating something side by side. This is truly a wonderful place for people of all ages. We have been here for parties as well as a drop in to spend some time with my daughter! This place is always clean, well organized, and has very friendly and helpful staff. Located in the Palladio Shopping complex, this ceramic paint spot is definitely a spot to check out. We had my daughter's birthday party here and the staff was very informative and helpful throughout the whole process. Parties We reserved the back private room which can fit up to 15painters, and 20 guest total which means, parents can drop off or some can choose to stay. It was $150 to rent the back plus any other ceramic add ons that the kids want to paint. Ceramics range from $20 and up depending on the size. You can even limit what you want your guest to choose from (as far as price range) and the staff will bring it in the room and place it on the shelf for guest to pick. The back room rental allows you to bring any outside food and drinks (except alcohol). You are given a 2 hour block starting at either 1230-230 or 3:30-5:30. They do however allow you to set up prior to your booked time. The only tricky thing is finding parking to unload your party stuff so I would recommend bringing a folding wagon with you for set up/ clean up. Wish they had one designated reserved parking just for that. But if you get lucky, you can snag a 15min one right in front. Painting For those not familiar with the ceramic process, after your guest have completed painting, it will take about 7-10days after to receive your painted ceramic. They said it will be placed in a kilm at 1000 degrees! With that, you would have to come back to pick up your creation. I would definitely recommend this spot! I called them ahead of time to see what their booking / reservations looked like. The person who answered the phone did state that they do "Walk-Ins" and there are painting fees associated (adults and children have separate feeds). The items that you would like to paint (i.e. bowls, cups, coasters, jewelry boxes, etc are labeled and prices vary). My husband, daughter and I made sure to go an 1.5 hours before they closed so it gave us enough time to pick our items, colors and paint. The space was clean, the staff were friendly and it was pretty easy to navigate everything. There is a back separate area for private parties. A lot of things to choose from. The items can be pricey but it's definitely a fun experience! Parking is relatively easy to figure out and they do have a restroom for customers. read more

This was our first time at this pottery painting studio. They have many items to choose from. Prices are reasonable. The service was very nice, we were greeted immediately with our reserved table. My daughter have to asked for color refills many times, the employee was very nice and accommodating. My daughter loves the place so much and had lots of fun! We can't wait to see how our Fairy on the Moon turn out Will update the review once we have the product! We adore the concept, have mostly enjoyed coming in and creating over the years. However it has become a more and more costly experience so we don't do it often anymore. I was pretty disappointed when we picked up our latest creations and there was a chip on the edge of one of the plates and they did nothing about it. 2 of 3 plates have broken within 2 months (our old ones from 8 years ago are still doing well). It seems like price has gone way up and quality way down. We were also very disappointed to find that even though I didn't have a project, I was charged a $10+ "participation" fee. Additionally the night we came in the teen girl at the counter hardly helped us, and spent most of her time in the back room with her security guard boyfriend. Because of all these combined We won't be coming back. read more

Most bizarre experience ever. Went in just now with the 3 kids I nanny and the woman at the front was extremely rude for no reason and brushed us off. Literally brushed us off with a hand movement and everything. I'm aware that people have hard days and their actions are a reflection of themselves and their issues, so I ignored it and we picked out our pieces and sat down. We were then ignored for 20 minutes while she helped two other groups that came in after us. Wouldn't make eye contact and when she finally did she made this funky smile and continued to not help us. Very strange. We got up and left. I hope she figures herself out. read more

This was a fantastic experience! They are being very COVID safe! They have tables inside and outside and are taking reservations. Staff is very friendly and all are wearing masks. This can be a hard project for littles because painting with patience is hard. It is a little pricy, but As long as you go into it knowing that kids are going to get messy and may mix all the colors you'll do great! My 2 and 3 year old LOVED this and were so happy with the end result. They even included twinkling lights for the little house lantern. We look forward to our next trip! read more

This is a great spot for a fun activity: girls' night out, a creative date, kid bonding time. But holy crap, you'll definitely pay for it! There's a fee for painting ($10 each) on TOP of the high prices of the items. I took my daughter here as a special treat. Let's just say that if you even think you MIGHT have the slightest inclination toward OCD, do not, i repeat- DO NOT take a five-year-old here. She had a great time painting her unicorn, but for $40 I watched her pick ugly colors, mash the brush around, and leave parts unpainted. I don't think I sweat that much when I work out. It was stressful. But when we picked up her hideous, over-priced unicorn the following week, and she saw it completed in all its shiny glory, the look on her face was priceless. She loves it and is so proud of it! So I'm glad we went, but I'll wait until she's older and I'm on anxiety meds before I take her back. read more

Scheduled an evening for holiday painting and had a great time. It was a somewhat busy evening and there didn't seem to be enough staff, so our paints were slow to be refilled and questions we had were left unanswered, but that didn't bother us. What did bother me was when I went to pick up our items I was told they were not ready because the kiln had not been fired up on full heat and it was requested that I come back the next day. My friend went back the next day and was told that the paints had not cured properly & the staff was attempting to fix our items. This went on for two weeks. Our items were never fixed, but made worse. The manager did give us a full refund and was very apologetic. Very disappointed that nobody seemed to really know their own company's products and they were a bit over-priced. Most likely will not return or recommend this place. read more

We started pieces at the Folsom location, finished pieces at the Laguna location because it was closer to home, and had to pay both studio fees after being told we could take them to any location without paying more fees! Very disappointed since it made pricey pieces even more pricey. If we were better informed by staff, we wouldn't have gone to a different studio. From the moment we walked in, I felt very uncomfortable. This was today, 1/16/23 around 3 pm. There were two women working. The brunette was helpful and kind. The other gal seemed EXTREMELY annoyed and unhappy to have to help people. This was our first experience doing this. We had zero explanation, zero smiles, zero patience, and honestly, the whole interaction put a huge damper on the experience. I almost stopped painting because I didn't want the piece as a reminder of the not so good time. Whom ever owns this place, I would highly recommend a refresher to your staff on customer service, patience with children, and clear instructions either posted somewhere or verbal. This is by NO means a cheap outing. You pay for the ceramic thing, plus an extra 8-10$ just to sit and paint. You aren't walking outta there spending less than 100$, easy. The older woman was so bothered that she audibly states "oh my god" when someone didn't understand her, insert eye roll too. I will never return or recommend this establishment. I left feeling overwhelmed and uncomfortable. Felt like I was doing a chore, not enjoying leisure time with my family. read more

I took my two children, both under ten. They loved it! Staff was very friendly and attentive. Can't wait to see the finished products! I would have rated five stars except for cost. In fairness, their website does break down the various costs, including use of their studio ($10 for adults, $8 for children under 10), kiln use ($1.00 per piece - why they don't just include the $1 in the price of the piece I don't know. I can't imagine a customer not having the piece fired there), and the cost of the clay piece. Although there are some trivets and small ornaments, most items, including cups/mugs and small bowls, were in the $15 to $20 range. So, for one adult and two children, it cost me approx. $90. I had a Groupon that helped, but it only got me down to the $70 range. I was some what prepared mentally for the cost, but if this is just a spur of the moment/let's have some fun kids type of thing, it is very easy to rack up a $100 in this place. Okay, sorry to whine about cost, just thought it might be helpful for parents on a budget to know. All in all, we will go back again. It will be awhile, but we will go back. read more

I sometimes get bored of standard dates that revolve around food, so my boyfriend planned a date to Color Me Mine to show some creativity in both art and date planning. We had a coupon that waived the studio fee for both of us (I am unabashedly the coupon queen), so we were just left to pay for the pottery we wanted to paint. We both chose coffee/latte mugs since we thought we might actually use them sometime. The friendly girl staffing the studio took us over to the paints and filled up our palates with the colors we wanted and then set us free to have at it. I decided to play it safe with a pretty flowery stencil design, while my boyfriend just went to town freehanding his mug. You can pretty much make a date here last as long as you want depending on how fast you want to finish your piece. We took our time and really had fun doing something new. After you're done, you turn in your piece to be fired in the kiln and return in a couple days to pick it up. Upon pickup, I was not surprised to see that my dainty little flower design was quite pretty, while my boyfriend's brown and burnt orange creation was more...abstract? Regardless, it was a good time for people of all ages and ability levels. I even use the mug I made! My boyfriend doesn't use his, so I tend to hide it in the very back of the cupboard. Sorry babe, we'll stick to food dates for you ;o) read more

If you need a rainy day activity, this is a great place. It is a little expensive, but you'll end up with a great ceramic price that you can use, and even put it in the dishwasher. We had my daughter's birthday party here, and it worked out well. 8 friends all made a cool piece, and hung out in a private room. They are good at steering the little ones to lower priced or useful items. You paint your piece, and then come back a week later to pick it up. read more

My friend has been raving about Color Me Mine for YEARS. I was never against checking it out, but always found myself doing other things instead. I'm so glad she finally forced me into trying it as her birthday gift to me. I can understand why people are more likely to choose something like the Painted Cork, or Wine Night, over CMM; but please trust me when I say that you don't need booze in order to have fun-- and I love me some booze. The beauty of CMM, is that you aren't rushed into completing your piece; unlike Painted Cork, etc. The staff are friendly, the age range is vast, and it's very fairly priced. Great experience, with with a couple of gal pals during ladies night ($4 studio fee on Wednesdays instead of the regular $10 fee). We all painted different items and had a great time chatting while relaxing/painting together. I was the only one who didn't finish my piece in the 3 hours that we were there, but the staff let me know I could take my piece home and return with it any other day that is convenient for me and finish it up (free of charge, not having to pay the studio fee again). Really fun, who doesn't like to paint!? But...ridiculously overpriced. The ceramics are not very extravagant and start at $20 and upward for a simple small figurine. Cups, plates, plain business card holders, kids figurines, vases, etc. Then there is an $8 studio fee per person. #2 people will cost at least $65 for #2 minimum costs items to paint. Staff is nice, place is clean and cool during the summer. Overall a fun activity just an expensive one that most average income folks can't afford. Very disappointed in my experience! I brought my granddaughter and she chose her project and I selected mine. I started to paint mine (a serving tray) and noticed a BIG nick on one of the corners done in the preparation of the tray. I mentioned it and said I wanted a new one. I was told she still had to charge me $38. All of the other trays on the shelf had perfect corners. She got mine from a cupboard and carried it to the table. I wasn't going to do anymore because I wouldn't serve anything on a chipped piece of pottery. I will not ever come back, my blood pressure can't afford another experience like today. You disappointed our 6 and 3 year old grandkids. The place was busy and only one employee. She was stuck for 15 minutes trying to locate someone's merchandise. Then we were next, she said to send the kids up to get their paint and ends up helping a line jumper. She should have refused to help her.
