We have been for a birthday party as well as free time and each time has went well. When you do free play you only have access to the jungle area when you first walk in. The area is very large but it's definitely age appropriate. I brought my 4 and 7 year old and the both had an equal amount of fun. We visited Wacky Tacky in Rancho Cordova on a Saturday and overall had a really fun time. It's a great indoor play spot with activities for a wide range of ages, and the kids definitely stayed entertained while we were there. Unfortunately, there were two birthday parties happening at the same time, which meant about two-thirds of the facility was reserved, so we only had access to roughly a third of the play space. There was also a huge volleyball tournament going on next door, which made parking extremely difficult -- though I understand that part is outside of Wacky Tacky's control. One thing I would love to see improved is the under-2 play area. There wasn't much available for the littlest kids besides a single slide. Overall though, it's still a fun place to bring kids of different ages, and we'd definitely consider coming back -- maybe on a less busy day. read more

We checked out Wacky Tacky for a kid's birthday party yesterday - it was the first time for my family! The inside is split into 3 different play areas - the 2 on the right are reserved for private parties and the 1 on the left is open play for everyone. I really liked how it was separate and allowed for more space for the kids in our party to run around. It was a 2-hour reservation, so half the time is spent in the play hours and the other half is spent in the private party room. The party room was massive! It included a small TV that they played Bluey on, 2 or 3 tables for the kids and even benches along the walls for parents. It also included a big throne chair for the birthday girl to sit in while she opened presents. I also really liked that the party attendant had all of the kids line up outside the door and gave them hand sanitizer before entering the party room - he also cut the cake and served it as well. The reservation also included pizza for the kids! Overall, it was a pretty cool place. They have hand sanitizer stations setup all throughout which I really appreciate because we know how germy these places can get. They even offer a snack bar with drinks and snacks like nachos, hot dogs and popcorn. It's a great option for birthday parties or just letting the kids get out some much-needed energy. Walkie-talkie is a fun place to entertain the kids... We bought a month pass for two months of the summer and would stop there and let our granddaughter play while we worked remotely. It has tons of slides and tunnels and balls and all kinds of fun things for the kids to do and it entertains them for hours and wears them out. We go home just in time for a nap. The place is looking a little tired... Time for a renovation especially on the seats in that little café. Took the grands here yeserday. They were having a fine time zooming all over the three play areas UNTILL the oldest had to use the bathroom. What a filthy disgusting smelly facility. The toilets all had left overs in them but after a flush it became apparent that it was not a user error , because the toilets barely flushed!! All the surfaces were sticky, but maybe that is the "tacky" in the name. The urine smell was reticent of a poorly cleaned gas station toilet from yesteryear. Held my 5 yr olds birthday at Wacky Tacky and it was a great experience for him and the children that attended. Parking is really bad on the weekends if there are volleyball tournaments. When you arrive inside you have to checkin and pay. They let you in the shark play area at the time you start the party for 35 minutes. Then come out with a megaphone to tell you to move your kids to the Canon playground for 35 minutes. They give you a cart for shoes and another for presents so they can be moved easily. They dont let you in to decorate the party room until 15 minutes before everyone comes in. If the party in front are running behind you will feel rushed so have a couple of people help decorate. The play areas are great for multiple ages. My children are 2 and 5, but we had to follow the 2 yr old. When it was time for our cake and pizza they called us again and had hand sanitizer for the kids. You can only bring in cake and cupcakes and have to buy food from them. They have a full menu. The host helped us serve and decorate and clean up. Overall it was a good experience and we will definitively other parties here in the future. read more

I'd have to say, this was probably the easiest most fun children's birthday party I ever threw! I've hosted many birthday parties at Chuck-e-cheese, Sky Zone, Jon's Incredible Pizza, GolfLand Sunsplash, etc and this place by far had a no issue, super smooth process compared to any where else. How to book an appointment: Must call location direct, or in person visit, and pay the $100 deposit via credit card. You aren't able to book online. The young lady that answered the phone was extremely helpful. I booked my birthday package B which included 20Kids, 3XL pizzas and 3 2liter sodas. I then received an email with my receipt and confirmation. I showed up 30mins before my scheduled time and checked in with the front desk. Very helpful and friendly young staff, place is packed as usual but easy to navigate. Went over all the details and recommended an additional pizza to insure I had enough fit my guests, I almost added two extra pizzas but he informed me only 1 extra would be fine. And it was! After I paid in full, everyone who was early was able to wait in the small waiting room with chairs near the play area. EASY CHECK IN for when your guests arrive, they just fill out the forms at the front and attach the party color coordinating wristbands on your child, PARTY TIME! You get 45 mins in two play areas. Each one reserved PRIVATE just for your party! The first play area was the best! Lots of Slides, ball pits, and a maze the little kids and parents loved! Super fun. The second play area was mostly the blasters where you shoot the plastic balls and run around. When your 45mins is up, a siren goes off to let us know we're on the way to the next area. SNACK BAR closes at 5:20pm so beware of this if you plan on getting snacks, I ordered fountain sodas, chicken strips and nachos. Pretty good snack bar food. PIZZA TIME! We are escorted to the back area private room for cake and pizza party. This is a really large space! Mirrors on the wall, clean tables and cups and plates already set out. Helium filled balloons decorated the tables. Our helper put out the cake and walked around and served everyone pizza, he even had extra candles for the cake since we forgot ours at home. I left feeling refreshed and happy that everyone had a great time. I didn't have to clean or serve or decorate, I just showed up and let them handle the party. They even thoroughly cleaned the party area as we were leaving so I'm sure they read previous reviews and stepped their cleaning game up. This place is awesome and I highly recommend birthday parties for children under 10. My 3 year old really enjoyed himself. There is lots of seating for adults and the set up is pretty cool, you can pretty much see your child from every angle if you choose the right spot. My only dislike is that it smells like dirty diapers and could be more cleaner/ fresher. The 1st play area with the "jungle theme" has a lot more space for breathing. I have a love/hate relationship with this location. Great place for kids to run off energy! 3 different play sections with different themes and stuff to play on. My 4 and 5 year old loved it. The food was disappointing, minimal and mediocre but you can't really bring outside food so it is what it is. My biggest gripe is the accessibility to the front door. A lot of other kids play places have some kind of buffer to slow down/stop kids from walking out the front door but Wacky Tacky doesn't have anything like that. The doors lead straight out to the parking lot so it was stressful with 2 young children. I don't know that I would come back without another adult to help out. This place is big and kid approved. :) I think it's best for kids ages 2-10. We came on a Monday afternoon at 4pm, and it was pretty busy with kids, so I can only imagine how busy it gets on weekends. I think they block off some of the play areas though when there are private parties, so perhaps call ahead of time to see what their open play looks like. It costs $16 for one kid accompanied by an adult. An extra adult costs another $16. I wish the extra adult price was a little lower since the adults are not necessarily playing on the structures, but hopefully the company is using that extra money to keep Wacky Tacky in good condition. We spent two hours here and probably could have stayed longer if they weren't closing at 6pm. My 2-year old daughter had fun. There is a lot to do to keep kids active. The food here is pricey for what you get, and the bathrooms were not clean and one of the toilets wouldn't flush. When booking my daughter's 4th birthday party here, I was not sure what to expect. Booking was extremely easy and done over the phone. The staff member explained very clearly what was included in the package that I was interested in booking and availability was great. When we showed up for the birthday, everything was extremely organized. We booked a package that allowed just our party private reservation for 2 playrooms at 45 minutes each, followed by lunch after. Everything was timely and organized. Staff helped decorate the room and there is already decoration within each room which was nice. Staff also helped serve food and dessert the whole time we ate lunch and they helped clean. We visited Wacky Tacky on a family weekend trip to Rocklin. My girls had a blast, playing and climbing and exploring. My children are 7 and 3 years old and all play equipment is safe and padded which is AWESOME! We arrived when they opened and only had a few other families there. It was $30 for the 4 of us, for as long as we wanted to stay. Small snacks, water, coffee are allowed inside, which we appreciate with little kids. Took my niece and nephew here who are 1 in a half and 7 years old. The play area catered to the both of them even with the age gap between the two. On the weekends they close up two of the other play areas for private parties, which made the one kids play area that was open for everyone else, was pretty packed. Taking one star off because the cushion play mat on the ground kept popping up and wouldn't connect back into place. My nephew tripped over it a few times. I tried to place it back but with so many kids it kept popping back out of place. Just be warned that it's a free for all play ground, not a lot of adults or workers monitoring the children so it gets a little mayhem. They make you purchase socks for $4 if your children doesn't have it on. But I seen so many kids barefoot. Workers at the snack bar had no. Customer service at all. Our 2nd time here in the last 3 months. My 2 yr old twins love it. Before coming here I was a little worried it wouldn't be age appropriate for my kids as I saw a lot of big slides in rhe review pictures. I'm glad I checked the is place our bc it's definitely toddler friendly. My kids have so much fun. We spent roughly 3 hours here during our visit today. Staff greeted us upon arrival and as we were leaving. Play area and parent waiting area all were clean during both of our visits. My only complaint would be I wish that the staff would do rounds around the play area often. During todays visits there was a group of kids around 7-10 yr olds that were throwing balls at other kids randomly and thinking it was funny. One of them was getting ready to throw a ball at my two year old. I had to put a stop to that quick. Secondly another kid was trying to take rocking horse down the conveyor rollers which was not safe at all for the kids that were coming down. Other then that this place is great! I have mixed feelings about this place. My kids enjoyed it but it has issues. First is the staff. I called ahead, as it instructs on the website, to ask about open play hours. The gentleman that answered the phone said, very rudely, that I could just walk in and then he hung up. When we arrived, the man at the front desk barely looked up from his computer screen and just said 'sign', waving vaguely at the waiver form. He then told me the total ($30 for a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old), and went back to his computer. The worst customer service I've ever seen, and I worked in the service industry. The facility itself need some TLC. The equipment is worn in a lot of places as you can see from the images I've included. The high traffic areas are the most worn. Nothing is worn to the extent of being unsafe, from as much as I could tell, it's just a little shabby. They have signs saying the staff is disinfecting on a regular basis and I can assure you this is NOT the case. Also if you are worried about COVID, know that they do not enforce any mask mandate despite saying they do on their website. My kids are vaccinated so it did not bother me, but other parents may be upset about it. There are three play areas, each with their own theme. We came on a Tuesday afternoon and it didn't seem crowded. They have these air guns that make loins noises, and that bothered my daughter a little. But she still had fun. From what I could tell, there were only two staff members in the whole building. The rude gentleman at the front desk and an older gentleman working the 'café'. The music was very strange, a combination of R&B and middle eastern music. Definitely not kids music. Based on previous reviews, and the lack of responses to negative Yelp reviews, I'm guessing the owners aren't very involved or care much for this facility. So took my kid here for his birthday year ago didn't really pay mind to what we were getting into. Overall, it's a great place for birthday parties, and to let your kid run around on rainy days and get some energy out. However, the cleanliness of this place is below zero. They only had two people working one girl at the front counter, checking people in, and a kid in the back doing food the women's restroom had a urine and feces smell, and there was urine and feces on the floor, no paper towels, only one soap dispenser was working properly with soap, and , no toilet seat covers, and three out of the 45 restrooms they had were overflowing with. I'll let your imagination go crazy. And the place is falling apart one of the jungle gym areas. The last one, the red and black one with the air. Guns has a sharp metal piece coming up from one of the floor beds and caught my pants in two places. Luckily I did not get cut! But the only thing that they could do was tell me that they'll check it out! The jungle gym areas are falling apart the first jungle gym area with the monkeys, the green and yellow severely needs to be updated, all of their padding is worn down, fading, falling apart, and the money that this place makes I'm super shocked that they're not taking better care of it! I mean overall it's a great place for what it is, but when I had my son's birthday, the tablecloth in the party rooms are worn down! The balloons need to be replaced with new balloons with helium. Some of them were dead or flat just hanging out! And the tables were sticky. The floor was sticky around the tables, this place is not very clean, especially for the prices that they charge to have the birthday parties I would expect a little more cleanliness, and maintenance. I will definitely consider maybe taking my son to Roseville instead of Rancho Cordova, because they don't have apparently the resources to take care of the place at this location so we'll see what the owners of Rancho Cordova have to say about this review, but for sure we're gonna try Roseville and see if they have a better alternative to this . So much fun for all ages! I took my 14 year old and my 5 and 1 year old grandkids and they LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it! I used to take my other kids when they were younger and it was always one of our favorite places. The climbing structures are so fun, the ball pits, the shooting guns for the balls, lots of places for parents to sit and watch without having to move around too much, and a pretty decent snack bar! You have to wear socks if you are going in the play area (they don't even make you buy theirs, just wear your own), and parents are free and welcome to join their kids. For $16, my toddler gets to run around and expend some of his limitless energy, and I get to sit and read a book in peace. We came on a weekend between 12pm-3 pm. Two of the play areas were blocked off for back-to-back birthday parties, it seemed, so we were limited to just one area, but that was plenty enjoyable for him. He quickly found a new friend, and they entertained themselves for hours. I would not recommend simply leaving one's child here, though. Parents and guardians need to keep an eye on their kids, because I overheard a few little ones run back to their parents complaining about being pushed or lowkey bullied by other kids. Some important things to note: - SOCKS are mandatory for kids and parents who want to go into the play areas with their children. - Parking was tough on a weekend. Get there early or be prepared to circle around. - Come prepared. What could improve... safety and security and cooperation with law enforcement and collection of data when a crime happens in your facility. I was assaulted at wacky tacky in RC today. I was sitting on a bench facing the jungle play area and some angry parents to my right started cursing and yelling at an Asian father for being on his phone and "looking at them sideways" for trying to help him find his child. One of the angry women stated "don't f$&@ with me." At that point I asked "ladies please keep it down, there are children everywhere." Things escalated from there. They didn't like being told to keep it down instead of please don't curse and told me to mind my own business. I apologized for my wording but reiterated it was my business as they shouldn't be yelling and cursing in a kids playground. I turned around and saw plenty of Wacky tacky staff in orange shirts witnessing the escalating argument (as it was loud and in close proximity to the front desk) and waved at them and asked them to come help with the situation. They did not. In about 2 more minutes the woman who assaulted me took the opportunity to grab me by my hair and repeatedly punch me in my face when I was seated on a bench and didn't even see her coming. I was speaking to her friend who was also now saying the F word and yelling. (Now I know what the phrase "hit like a girl means." It means not effectively). I did the right thing. I didn't fight back. I braced my hair and attempted to block my face and waited for bystanders to pull her off. Wacky tacky staff then decided to come over, only to say we both needed to leave immediately as we can't be cursing and fighting in front of Children. I agreed, of course lol, and asked them to help me get her information as I wanted to report the assault to police. They stated they couldn't give me the information but would to police. I found that fair- I wouldn't want to give personal information about one customer to another as a business owner but to law enforcement of course. They still demanded I leave and I didn't feel safe doing so. If you've ever been to this location the parking lot was a packed full and we had to park very far away and they were trying to eject me with my kid into the same parking lot they just sent my assailant. I called police and after speaking with them on the phone they agreed to allow me to wait in their nursing room. They never offered me any concern for my welfare. They didn't offer ice or anything; they really just wanted me to leave which I guess I understand in a way but feel they could do better when clearly I was a victim not an active problem for them or their business. After some time, I spoke to police and filed a report. Wacky tacky allowed the officer and sheriff to view the video footage but denied them the information provided on the waiver you are required to fill out when entering. The family and friends still there for a birthday party claimed they didn't know her. So in all, you can be assaulted in this children's play place with not a care for your personal safety, wellbeing, or for what the children just witnessed. They don't seem interested in helping law enforcement uphold the law in their facility and they don't have their own security to ensure safety either. They will not assist in an investigation and they will even hinder it by sending everyone outside to handle business outside. Outside of the assault, parking here is terrible and if you come on a weekend you can only use half of the facility as the other half is closed for only birthdays. The nursing room appears to have a leak and possibly black mold (see photo). Can't comment on food or the restroom because unfortunately we didn't get there in our visit. Why 2 stars? One of the pros is unlike other play places you can use your own clean socks from home. You can also play $17 for your child for unlimited play whereas other places have a time limit for more $.
