I love it here! The owners are personable, kind and caring. The studio is well kept and has a great ambiance. The prices are hard to beat. And most importantly the community of people who attend this studio are inspiring, humble, and supportive. Great place for learning how to throw on the wheel or hand build. 10/10 would recommend to anyone interested in trying ceramics.

This place is super cute & fun! You get to make a sculpture and something on the wheel. I wish they taught as you went and not all at once at the start of class as it's hard to remember when you're on your own. They get you to take more classes by telling you need to book another one to paint your piece 2 weeks later. I wish the price of one class would allow you to get your finished piece.

Me taking my first class and loving it!

I'm really torn about leaving this review. I want this place to remain my secret. But it is so incredible I also have to support the owners. There is nothing not to love about this business. From their adorable storefront shop to the amazing classes taught by real artists. They have everything any beginner or advanced ceramicist needs. With classes purchased one at a time you can quickly find if this is a new hobby for you. You will learn wheel throwing and table hand building techniques. The wheels are all electric which is helpful for people of all ability needs.

Class/working area. Tables are for sculpting, wheel stations are just behind.

We did an into to ceramics class and it was lovely! The class was super well ventilated, there was a giant 4 foot diameter fan - I felt so COVID comfortable!!! The day we went was in the upper 90's but the giant fan was doing some miracle work and it was pleasant! All that fresh air really made me feel more comfortable with the strangers around me. Justin did our into class, very helpful and went through the basics. They had a large selection of supplies and using everything came included in the class price (so we didn't have to pay extra for clay/firing/glazes). Can't wait to go back and keep at it!

Ask the Community - Sincere Ceramics

Every time I check the website, classes are sold out. When do they release dates so I can be prepared to book?

A group of friends and I have been trying to book a class for months to no avail. Classes are sold out months in advance. The owner should consider opening more classes or another location - they're leaving tons of money on the table!

I'm a bit confused, is the introductory class for adults or children too? If it is for children too, what age do they have to be?

I am not sure what the age restriction is but I was in an intro class with a couple of 5 year olds and a 8 or 9 year old. I think as long as they are supervised by an adult you should be able to bring them in. It is an open studio with tools and…

Do we sign up? And is it a class? Also how much for two people?

You go to their website, and can register for an intro class, which then has additional hours for you to play and create. The last time I checked it was $12 a person so $24 for two people.

Justin led us by walking through basics as we have no experience on working with clay and demo'd how to approach the wheel.

I came in during a weekday afternoon and was able to decompress. Their pottery item selection is pretty versatile and the employees are very helpful if you need any assistance. I love that they have a "stay as long as you want" policy and I was told you can also bring your item home and come back another time to finish if needed too. Most of the pottery items range from about $22+. Considering it is a women owned + local small business, I am all for supporting it. Would love if they begin to offer a stamp card or possibly a monthly membership/program!

Petroglyph Ceramic Lounge is located inside the Pavilions on Fair Oaks Blvd next to Piatti. We walked inside and it was pretty busy, but they had plenty of space and lots of seating. We put our names in and they told us it would be about an hour before we would be able to sit and paint - so we walked around and checked out all of the ceramic options available. They had so many cute options from bowls, to mugs, to piggy banks, to jewelry boxes to platters - I could go on and on! All ranging in different sizes and pricing! For the 4 of us, we decided on a cute set of Valentine's Day gnomes, a fairy jewelry box, a donut jewelry box and a big cafe mug. All paints, paintbrushes, stencils, etc. are included in the painting fee which is $15 per adult and $13 per child. Between the 4 of us and all of our choices, it was just shy of $200 so you're looking at roughly $50 a person which is a lot, but you also don't have a time limit on how long you can stay and with our party of 4, I think we were close to almost 2 hours. Once you are done painting, they will take your ceramic and it will go in the kiln during the week. You will need to come back on whatever day they tell you for pick up - for us, it is this Wednesday after 4pm. Overall, we had a great time at Petroglyph Ceramic Lounge! This is perfect for a birthday party, Sunday Funday or even a date night. We will absolutely be returning soon! I highly recommend making a reservation though if you can!

The worker was helpful and kind. So why 2 stars? We struggled to pick which item we wanted to paint. Not because there wasn't a lot of choices, there are, but because their prices are pretty high. We almost left to go to Hobby Lobby to buy something else to paint at home. We ended up staying and choosing a sunflower about the size of the palm of my hand for $14.00. A small "Love" word sign about 1" x 1" and it was $10.00, a leaf also the size of the palm of my hand for $9.00, and a 10" x 7" serving tray for $35.00. Plus the studio fee they also charge to sit and paint. Items we would have liked to paint where averaging around $45-$70.00. For a party of 4, we just cannot do that. My last concern with this studio is that when you paint your items they have you fill out the colors you use in the event they have to make any small corrections to your piece during firing process. At least that is what was told to us when we started. We did and at pick up, my tray had a sharp edge on the corner and when I asked how to fix that, they replied with that they would have to file it down, then I would have to repaint that section of the corner, then they would re-fire it and I'd have to come back to pick it up other day. Seems like that should have been something they could have done if they checked the pieces after firing. What was the point of writing down the colors I used if they are not going to quality control it? So that was beyond me and a bit of an inconvenience and dissatisfaction of quality.
